7 But da main pries sed: “Dass tru o wat?”
2 Stephen sed: “My braddahs an unkos,* try lissen. Da awesome God wen show up to oua ancesta Abraham wen he wuz in Mes·o·po·taʹmi·a, befoa he wen move to Haʹran.
3 An he sed to him: ‘Go away from yoa land an from yoa ohana* an come to da land I goin show you.’
4 Den he leave da land of da Chal·deʹans an go live in Haʹran. Afta his faddah died, God wen tell him fo move to dis land wea you guys stay now.
5 But he neva inherit none of dat land, not even one small piece fo put his foot on.* But God wen promise fo give um to him, an layta on to his kids, even tho he neva have one kid yet.
6 On top of dat, God wen tell him dat his kids wuz goin live in anodda country az outsidas, an da guys ova dea wuz goin make dem slaves an treat dem real bad fo 400 years.
7 God sed, ‘I goin judge da country dey stay slaves in’ an ‘afta all dis happen dey goin come outa dat land an worship me in dis place.’
8 “Den he make one deal wit Abraham, an getting circumcise show dat dey made dis deal. He wen come faddah to Isaac an wen circumcise um eight days afta he wuz born. Den Isaac had* Jacob, an Jacob had 12 boys dat wen come da 12 tribes.*
9 An Joseph’s braddahs got jealous of him an sold him to da Egyptians. But God wuz wit him,
10 an wen help him thru all his problems. God give him da smarts an make um so dat Pharʹaoh, da king of Egypt, would like him. So Pharʹaoh made him govna ova Egypt an his palace.

23 “Wen he turn 40 years old, he decided fo go check out his braddahs, da Israelites.
24 Wen he see one Egyptian hurting one of um, he step in fo defend him, an wen kill da Egyptian.
25 He figga his braddahs would tink dat God wuz using him fo save dem, but dey neva tink dat.
26 Da nex day Moses show up an see two Israelites scrapping. He try fo help dem work um out an sed: ‘You guys, you braddahs. How come you treat each odda lidat?’
27 But da one dat wen start da fight push Moses away an tell: ‘Who put you in charge an make you da judge ova us?
28 Wat? You goin kill me like how you did wit da Egyptian yestaday?’
29 Wen Moses hea dis, he run away an go live az one outsida in da land of Midʹi·an. Dass wea he had his two boys.
30 “40 years layta, wen Moses wuz in da boonies aroun Mount Siʹnai, one angel show up in da fiyah of one burning bush.
31 Wen Moses see um, he wuz tripping out. So he go moa close fo check um, an dass wen he hea Jehovah’s* voice:
32 ‘I da God fo yoa ancestas, da God fo Abraham, fo Isaac, an fo Jacob.’ Moses start fo shake an wuz sked fo look at da bush.
33 Jehovah sed to him: ‘Take off yoa sandals, cuz da groun wea you standing stay holy.
34 Fo shua I see how much my peopo in Egypt stay suffaring, an I hea dem cry, an I come fo save dem. So now, I goin sen you Egypt.’
35 Dis da Moses dey had rejeck wen dey sed: ‘Who put you in charge an make you da judge?’, an he da same one God wen use da angel in da burning bush fo tell dat he in charge now, an dat he goin save da peopo.
36 Dis guy wen bring dem outa Egypt, an did miracles an unreal tings in Egypt an at da Red Sea an in da boonies fo 40 years.
37 “Dis da Moses dat sed to da Israelites: ‘God goin pick one prophet fo come from you guys, one prophet like me.’
38 Dis da guy dat wuz inside da boonies wit da peopo of Israel, dass oua ancestas, an wit da angel dat wen talk to him on Mount Siʹnai. God wen give Moses his words dat get powa, an Moses wen give um to us.
39 Oua ancestas neva like lissen to him. Instead, dey turn dea back on him an dey kept tinking about Egypt in dea heart.
40 Dey sed to Aaron: ‘Make gods fo us, fo dem lead us. We donno wat wen happen to dis Moses guy dat wen bring us outa Egypt.’
41 So dey make one idol dat look like one calf an bring one sacrifice to um. Dey start fo have one good time an celebrate wat dey wen make.
42 So God bag from dem an let dem worship da sun, moon, an stars in da sky, jus like da book of da Prophets wen tell: ‘You Israel peopo, wen you made all kine sacrifices in da boonies fo 40 years, dat wuzn’t fo me ah?
43 No, but you wen carry da tent fo Moʹloch an da star fo da god Reʹphan, da idols you wen make. You bring um from one place to anodda fo worship dem. So I goin sen you guys away, moa far den Babylon.’
44 “Oua ancestas had da tent* in da boonies dat God told Moses fo make. An dey make um jus like how God told Moses fo do um.
45 An oua ancestas got dis tent from dea faddahs an wen bring um in wit Joshua to odda peopo’s land. God wen kick dese guys out fo oua ancestas. An da tent wen stay hea til David’s time.
46 An David make God happy an he ask fo da chance fo make one house* fo da God of Jacob.
47 But Solʹo·mon wuz da one dat wen build one house fo him.
48 But da Mos High no live in houses dat man make, jus like da prophet say:
49 ‘Jehovah tell, heaven iz my throne, an earth iz wea I put my feet. Wat kine house you goin build fo me? Or wea I goin live?
50 Eh, I wen make all dese tings.’
51 “You guys iz hahd head! You shut yoa ears an no like change yoa tinking.* You always goin agains God’s powa. You ack jus like yoa ancestas.
52 Try tink, had any prophets yoa ancestas neva make suffa? Dey wen kill all da guys dat tell da righteous one wuz coming, da one you jus wen sell out an murda.
53 God wen use angels fo give you da Law, but you neva follow um.”
54 Wen da guys in da High Court hea dis, dey wen lose um an wanted fo buss up Stephen.
55 But, full of God’s powa, he look up in da sky an see God in all his awesomeness an Jesus standing at His right hand.
56 Den Stephen tell: “Try look! I see da sky open up an da Son of man* standing at God’s right hand.”
57 Wen dey hea dis, dey yell at da top of dea lungs an cova dea ears. Den evrybody rush um.
58 Afta dey throw him outside da town, dey start fo throw stones at him. An da guys dat wen tell lies about him put dea robes down in front one young guy named Saul.
59 Wen dey wuz stoning Stephen, he call out: “Jesus, my Lord, my life* stay in yoa hands.”
60 Den he go down on his knees an yell out wit one strong voice: “Jehovah, no punish dem fo dis sin.” Afta he say dis, he mahke.*
