Action Wit Da Aposals 5:1-42
5 But one guy named An·a·niʹas wit his wife Sap·phiʹra wen go sell some of dea land.
2 He hide some of da money he wen get fo da land, an his wife know about um. Den he go bring da res to da aposals.
3 But Peter sed: “An·a·niʹas, wassamatta you? Why you let Satan make you no feel shame fo lie agains God’s powa? You make like you gave evryting but you wen stash some of da money on da side.
4 Befoa you sold um, da land wuz yoa’s ah? An wen you sold um, you coulda did wateva you like wit da money. But how you can even tink fo do dis? You neva lie to men, but you lied to God.”
5 Wen An·a·niʹas hea dat, he drop to da groun an mahke. An evrybody dat heard about um wen come sked.
6 Den some of da young guys wen get up, wrap him in cloths, carry um out, an bury um.
7 About three hours layta, his wife come in an she neva know wat had happen.
8 Peter sed to her: “So wat, you guys wen sell yoa land fo dis much?” She sed: “Yeah, dass how much.”
9 So Peter sed to her: “How come you guys make plan fo lie an trick da powa of Jehovah?* Try look! You hea da footsteps outside da door? Dass da guys who wen bury yoa husban an dey goin carry you out too.”
10 Right den an dea, she wen drop down an mahke right in front him. Wen da young guys come in, dey see her dead an dey carry her outside an bury her nex to her husban.
11 An all da believas in Jerusalem an evrybody dat hea about dis wen come sked.
12 Da aposals wen keep doin plenny miracles an unreal tings in front da peopo. An dey would all meet togedda in Solʹo·mon’s Colonnade.
13 Az tru, none of da odda guys had da guts fo be aroun dem. But da peopo wuz talking good about dem.
14 An plenny moa guys an wahines wen believe in da Lord an come followas.
15 Peopo would even bring sick guys to da main streets an put dem on small beds an mats, cuz dey hope dat wen Peter pass by, his shadow would heal dem.
16 An choke peopo from da towns aroun Jerusalem keep on coming. Dey bring sick peopo an guys dat get trouble wit demons, an all dem wuz healed.
17 But da main pries an all da guys wit him dat follow wat da Sadducees* teach, wen come all jealous. So dey get up
18 an arrest da aposals an put um in jail.
19 But night time, Jehovah’s angel wen open da doors of da jail an bring dem outside. Da angel sed:
20 “Go to da tempo an no stop telling da peopo about da life dass coming bumbye.”
21 Afta dey hea dis, dey go in da tempo right befoa da sun come up an start fo teach.
Dat time, da main pries an da guys wit him gadda togedda da High Court* an all da eldas fo da peopo of Israel. Dey sen officers to da jail fo bring da aposals to dem.
22 But wen da officers get dea, dey no find dem in jail. So dey go back an tell wat dey seen.
23 Dey say: “Da jail doors wuz all locked an da guards wuz standing right dea at da doors. But wen we had open um, we neva find nobody inside.”
24 Wen da tempo supaviza an da main pries guys hea dis, dey wonda plenny about wat goin happen now.
25 But somebody else come an tell dem: “Try check um! Da guys you put in jail stay in da tempo teaching da peopo.”
26 Den da supaviza go wit his officers an bring dem in. But dey neva hurt um, cuz dey wuz sked dat da peopo wuz goin stone dem if dey did dat.
27 So dey bring dem in front da High Court. Den da main pries question dem
28 an sed: “Eh, thought we told you fo no teach anymoa about dis name! But look! Still yet you wen go spread yoa teaching all ova Jerusalem, an you like blame us fo dis guy’s death.”
29 Den Peter an da odda aposals sed: “We gotta obey God az oua rula radda den men.
30 Da God of oua ancestas wen bring Jesus back to life, da one you wen kill an nail on one pos.*
31 He da one dat God wen lif up to his right hand fo be da Chief Leada* an Savior, so dat Israel could come sorry an get let go fo dea sins.
32 We seen all dese tings. An God’s powa dat he give to dose obeying him az rula, wen help us fo tell all about um.”
33 Wen dey hea dis, dey come all wild an wanted fo kill dem.
34 But had one Pharisee* named Ga·maʹli·el an he wuz one teacha of da Law dat plenny peopo wen respeck. He stan up in front da High Court an sed fo put da aposals outside fo litto while.
35 Den he tell dem: “You Israel guys, you betta be keaful wat you do to dese guys.
36 Try tink wat wen happen wit Theuʹdas from befoa time. He wuz saying dat he somebody spesho, an one good amount of peopo wen follow him. Had about 400 guys dat wen hui up wit him. But some peopo killed him, den da guys following him wen scatta, an da group he started wen shut down.
37 Afta dat guy, in da time of da registration, Judas da Gal·i·leʹan had get guys fo follow him. He wen get killed too, an all dose following him had scatta.
38 So dass how come right now I telling you, no mess wit dese guys an leave dem alone. Cuz if dis ting iz from men, den goin fizzle out.
39 But if az from God, you not goin be able fo stop um. An if dass da case, you could even be fighting agains God.”
40 So dey follow his advice. Dey call da aposals, buss um up real good,* an told dem fo stop talking by da powa of Jesus. Den dey let dem go.
41 So dey leave da High Court all happy, cuz dey had da privilege fo suffa fo Jesus name.
42 An evryday in da tempo an from house to house dey neva stop telling an teaching da good news about Jesus, da Christ.
