Action Wit Da Aposals 22:1-30
22 “My braddahs an unkos, I like tell you my side of da story.”
2 Wen dey hea him talking to dem in Hebrew, dey wen come moa quiet, an he sed:
3 “I one Jew, born in Tarsus from da Ci·liʹcia area. But I went skool in dis town an Ga·maʹli·el wuz my teacha. I wuz taught fo follow da Law from Moses down to da T. An I wen go all out fo serve God jus like you guys.
4 I wen tie up both guys an wahines dat wuz following Da Way,* put dem in jail, make dem suffa an had dem killed.
5 Da main pries an all da eldas can tell you dat dis iz tru. I even got lettas from dem fo go to da Jew leadas in Damascus, an I wuz on my way dea fo get da guys dat wuz arrested an bring um Jerusalem fo get punished.
6 “But aroun da middo of da day, wen I wuz traveling an coming close to Damascus, one light from da sky wen flash all aroun me,
7 an I wen fall to da groun an hea one voice say to me: ‘Saul, Saul, how come you making me suffa?’
8 I sed: ‘Mista, who you?’ An he sed to me: ‘I Jesus da Naz·a·reneʹ, da one you making suffa.’
9 Da guys traveling wit me see da light, but dey neva hea da voice of da guy talking to me.
10 So I sed: ‘Mista, wat you like me do?’ Da Lord sed to me: ‘Get up an go Damascus. Ova dea somebody goin tell you all about da tings you wuz picked fo do.’
11 But cuz of da bright light, I no could see notting. So da guys dat wuz wit me had fo hold my hand an bring me Damascus.
12 “One guy named An·a·niʹas wen come by me. He respeck God plenny an follow da Law, an all da Jews living dea talk good about him.
13 He stan by me an tell: ‘Braddah Saul, see again!’ Right den an dea, I look up an see him.
14 He sed: ‘Da God of oua ancestas wen pick you fo know wat he like do an fo see Jesus, da righteous one, an hea his voice.
15 Cuz you goin be one witness fo him, fo tell all da peopo da tings you wen see an hea.
16 So wat you waiting fo? Get up, get baptized an put faith in Jesus so God can fogive yoa sins.’
17 “But wen I had go back Jerusalem an wuz praying in da tempo, I seen one vision
18 an Jesus wuz saying to me: ‘Hurry up an get outa Jerusalem cuz dey not goin like da stuff you tell about me.’
19 Den I sed: ‘Lord, dey know I used to go to one synagog* afta anodda fo beat up an lock up da guys dat believe in you.
20 An wen Stephen yoa worka wuz bein killed, to me dat wuz good. An I wuz standing dea watching ova da robes of da guys killing him.’
21 But still yet he sed to me: “Go, cuz I goin sen you far away to peopo from odda countries.’”
22 Dey wuz lissening to Paul til he sed dat. Den dey start fo yell an say: “Kill dis guy, cuz he no deserve fo live!”
23 Cuz dey wuz yelling, throwing dea clothes all ova an throwing dus in da air,
24 da army commanda tell his guys fo bring Paul to da place wea da soldiers live. He tell dem fo beat him up an question him so he can find out why all da peopo stay yelling fo kill Paul.
25 But wen dey stretch him out fo whip um, Paul sed to da army officer standing dea: “Az right o wat fo you beat up one Roman* dat neva go court yet?”
26 Wen da army officer hea dis, he report um to da army commanda an tell: “Wat you plan fo do? Cuz dis guy iz one Roman.”
27 So da army commanda go up to Paul an tell um: “So wat, you one Roman?” He sed: “Yeah.”
28 Da army commanda tell: “I wen pay plenny money fo get da rights of one Roman.” Paul sed: “But I wuz born one Roman.”
29 Right away, da guys dat wuz goin torcha Paul an question him wen back away from him, an da army commanda wen come sked afta he realize dat Paul wuz one Roman an dat he had um tied up in chains.
30 Da nex day, da army commanda wen take off Paul’s chains an he tell da main pries guys an evrybody in da High Court* fo come togedda, cuz he wanted fo find out exackly wat da Jews wuz accusing him of. Den he bring Paul down an make um stan in front dem.
