Action Wit Da Aposals 4:1-37
4 Wen Peter an John wuz still talking to da peopo, da pries guys, da supaviza of da tempo, an da Sadducees* wen go up to dem.
2 Dey wuz all irraz cuz da aposals wuz teaching da peopo an telling evrybody about Jesus resurrection.
3 So dey arrest dem an lock dem up til da nex day, cuz wuz da end of da day awready.
4 But plenny of da guys who lissen to wat dey sed start fo believe. An now da numba of men dat wuz believas wuz aroun 5,000.
5 Da nex day dea rulas, eldas, an scribes* wen get togedda in Jerusalem,
6 wit Anʹnas da main pries, Caʹia·phas, John, Alexander, an all da guys related to da main pries.
7 Dey put Peter an John in front dem an start fo question dem: “Who give you da powa an da right fo do dis?”
8 Den Peter, full of powa from God sed to dem:
“Rulas fo da peopo an eldas,
9 if you guys like know wat we did fo help dis cripple guy, an you like know who healed um,
10 den we goin make um clear to all you guys an to all da peopo of Israel, dat da powa of Jesus Christ da Naz·a·reneʹ iz how dis guy wen come all good in front you. Dass who you guys killed on da pos an who God wen raise from da dead.
11 Dis ‘da stone dat you buildas neva like an wen come da mos importan stone.’*
12 An we like make um clear, no moa any odda way fo get saved. God neva choose any odda person* on earth* fo save us.”
13 Wen da rulas an da eldas see how Peter an John jus geev um* wen dey talk an see dat dey wuz jus regula guys dat neva go skool,* dey wuz shock. Den dey realize dose guys used to hang out wit Jesus.
14 Dey wuz checking out da guy who wen get healed standing wit Peter an John, an dey neva have notting fo say about um.
15 So dey tell da three of dem fo go outside da High Court,* an dey started fo talk wit each odda.
16 Dey tell: “Wat we goin do wit dese guys? Cuz dey did someting pretty unreal an evrybody in Jerusalem know about um, an we no can make like neva happen.
17 So dis no spread any moa, we go threaten dem an tell dem fo no talk to anybody anymoa by da powa of dis name.”*
18 So dey call dem back an tell dem fo no say notting about Jesus or teach anyting by da powa of his name.
19 But Peter an John tell dem: “If you tink az right in God’s eyes fo us lissen to you radda den Him, az up to you.
20 But us guys, we no can stop talking about all da tings we wen see an hea.”
21 So afta dey threaten dem some moa, dey let um go, cuz dey no could find notting fo nail dem wit. Plus, dey wuz sked of all da peopo cuz dey wuz praising God cuz of wat wen happen.
22 Da guy dat wen get healed from dis miracle wuz moa den 40 years old.
23 Afta dey wuz let go, dey went back by da odda believas an told dem wat da main pries guys an da eldas sed to dem.
24 Wen dey hea dis, dey pray togedda to God an sed:
“Lord, da Rula ova evryting, you da One wen make da heaven an da earth an da ocean an all da tings in um.
25 Oua ancesta David wuz yoa worka, an you wen use yoa powa fo make him tell: ‘How come guys from diffren countries come all nutz? An how come all kine peopo ony tink about tings dat wase time?
26 Da kings of da earth an da rulas hui up an stay ready fo go agains Jehovah* an da one he wen pick* fo be da Christ.’
27 Cuz fo shua both Herod an Pontius Pilate an peopo of Israel, togedda wit guys from odda countries, wen gadda in dis city fo go agains Jesus, yoa worka dass holy, da one you wen pick.
28 Dese tings happen cuz you get da powa an you wen decide fo let um happen.
29 So now Jehovah, try look at da tings dey threaten us wit, an please help yoa workas fo keep goin all out fo tell yoa message,
30 an keep giving yoa powa fo heal an fo make miracles happen thru da name of Jesus, yoa worka dass holy.”
31 An wen dey pau pray real hahd, da place dey wuz in wen shake. Den all dem wen get God’s powa an dey wuz goin all out fo tell God’s message.
32 An all da believas wen tink an feel da same way.* None of dem would tell dat da tings dey had wuz ony fo dem, but dey would share evryting dey had.
33 An da aposals keep on giving one powaful witness about da resurrection of Jesus, an God wen bless dem plenny.*
34 In fact, nobody wen need anyting cuz dose dat wen own land or houses would sell um an bring da money dey got
35 an give um to da aposals. Den da aposals would pass out da money to whoeva needed um.
36 So Joseph, da one da aposals also call Barʹna·bas (wen you translate um dat mean, “Da One Dat Encourage Oddas”), one Levite dat wuz born in Cyʹprus,
37 he own one piece land an wen sell um, den he bring da money to da aposals.
