Action Wit Da Aposals 28:1-31
28 Afta we made um dea safe, we found out da island wuz called Malta.
2 An da locals* dat live dea had big hearts an wen treat us real nice. Dey show us plenny aloha an wen make one fiyah cuz wuz cold an rainy.
3 But wen Paul had grab one bunch of sticks an put um on da fiyah, one poisonous snake come out cuz wuz hot an wen bite his hand.
4 Wen da locals see da poisonous snake hanging from his hand, dey tell each odda: “Fo shua dis guy iz one murderer, an even tho he wen make um safe outa da watta, da goddess Justice* neva let him live.”
5 But he shake off da snake into da fiyah an notting happen to him.
6 Dey wuz expecking him fo swell up an drop dead right den an dea. Afta dey wait long time an see notting bad happen to him, dey change dea mind an start fo say he wuz one god.
7 Close by to wea we wuz, had one importan* local guy named Pubʹli·us dat had plenny land, an he wen welcome us an take kea us fo three days.
8 Jus so happen, Pubʹli·us faddah wuz sick in bed wit one fever an soa stomach.* So Paul go by him an pray an put his hands on top him an heal um.
9 Afta dis happen, evrybody else on da island dat wuz sick started fo come to Paul fo get healed too.
10 Dey even give us plenny gifs fo show us respeck, an wen we wuz getting ready fo sail away, dey had load us up wit wateva we needed.
11 Afta we wuz on da island fo three months, we lef on one ship wit da sign,* “Sons of Zeus.” Da ship wen come from Alexandria an wuz docked on da island fo da winta.
12 Wen we came to da Syracuse harbor, we stayed dea fo three days.
13 From dea we keep goin til we get to Rheʹgi·um. A day layta, one south wind come an we get to Pu·teʹo·li da nex day.*
14 Ova hea we found da braddahs an dey ask us fo stay wit dem fo seven days, afta dat we leave fo go Rome.
15 Wen da braddahs in Rome heard dat we wuz goin dea, dey go az far az da Apʹpi·us Marketplace an Three Taverns fo meet us. Wen Paul see dem, he tank God right away an come strong.
16 Den wen we get to Rome, Paul could stay by himself wit one soldier guarding him.
17 But three days layta, he ask all da importan Jew guys fo meet. Wen dey got togedda, he told dem: “Braddahs, even tho I neva do anyting agains oua peopo or da customs of oua ancestas, I wuz one prisona in Jerusalem an wen get turn ova to da Romans.
18 An afta dey wen question me, dey wanted fo let me go cuz neva have any grounds fo put me to death.
19 But wen da Jews neva like let me go, I wen ask fo go in front Caesar, but not cuz I wanted fo say someting agains my peopo.
20 I get dis chain aroun me cuz of da One Israel been hoping fo, an dass why I wanted fo talk to you guys.”
21 Dey sed to him: “We neva get any lettas about you from Ju·deʹa, even da braddahs dat wen come from dea neva say notting bad about you.
22 But we tink iz one good idea fo hea wat you gotta say, cuz we know dis new religion, peopo evrywea talk bad about um.”
23 So dey set up one day fo meet wit him, an dat time plenny moa of dem wen come to wea he wuz staying. From morning to night time, he wen explain to dem evryting about God’s Govament. He use da Law from Moses an da Prophets* fo try help dem believe in Jesus.
24 Some believe da tings he sed an oddas no like.
25 So cuz dey neva agree wit each odda, dey start fo leave. An Paul sed dis one ting:
“God’s powa wuz right on wen it use Isaiah da prophet fo tell yoa ancestas,
26 ‘Go to dis peopo an tell: “You goin hea but no ways you goin undastan, an you goin look but you not goin see da point.
27 Dese guys heart wen come hahd az rock. Dey make deaf ear an close dea eyes cuz dey no like lissen an undastan wit dea heart. So dey not goin change an I no can save dem.”’
28 So I like tell you, dis news about da way God save peopo wuz told to da guys dass not Jews, an dey goin lissen to um.”

30 So fo two years Paul stayed dea in one house he wen rent. An he would show aloha to all da guys dat would come visit him.
31 Same time he no hold back* fo tell dem about God’s Govament an teach dem about da Lord Jesus Christ, an notting could stop him.
