Wat Luke Wen Write 23:1-56
23 So all da peopo wen get up an take Jesus to Pilate.
2 Den dey start fo accuse Jesus. Dey say: “Dis guy stay making peopo turn agains da govament. He tell dem fo no pay tax to Caesar, an he tell dat he da Christ, one king.”
3 So Pilate ask um: “You da King of da Jews o wat?” Jesus sed: “You sed um yoaself.”
4 Den Pilate tell da main pries guys an all da peopo: “I neva find notting wrong dat dis guy wen do.”
5 But dey no back down an dey keep saying: “Wat he teach all ova Ju·deʹa, even from Galʹi·lee to hea, stay causing trouble.”
6 Wen Pilate hea dat, he ask if da guy wuz one Gal·i·leʹan.
7 Afta he figga out dat Jesus wen come from da area dat Herod wuz ruling, he go sen him to Herod, who stay in Jerusalem dat time.
8 Wen Herod see Jesus, he wuz supa happy. Fo long time he wanted fo see him cuz he had hea plenny about him an wuz hoping fo see Jesus do one miracle in front him.
9 So he start fo ask him choke questions, but he neva ansa notting.
10 But da scribes* an da main pries guys get all wild an keep standing up fo accuse Jesus.
11 Den Herod an his soldiers treat um real bad, an he make fun of um by putting one fancy robe on top him. Den he sen um back to Pilate.
12 Dat day, Herod an Pilate wen come frenz. Befoa dat, dey wen hate each oddas guts.
13 Den Pilate get da main pries guys, da rulas, an da peopo togedda
14 an tell dem: “You wen bring dis guy to me cuz you say he make plenny peopo go agains da govament. But try look! I ask him choke questions in front you guys an I neva find him guilty of da tings you sed.
15 Herod neva find notting eidda, cuz look, he sen um back to us. You know wat? He neva do notting fo deserve fo die.
16 I goin punish him an let um go.”
17 * ——
18 But all da peopo yell: “Get rid of dis guy,* an give us Bar·abʹbas!”
19 (Dis guy wuz lock up fo murda an fo bein part of one group dat wen go agains da govament.)
20 Cuz Pilate like let Jesus go, he yell out to dem again.
21 But dey start fo yell back: “Put um on da pos! Put um on da pos!”*
22 Fo da third time he tell dem: “How come? Wat bad stuff he did? I neva find notting he wen do fo deserve fo die. So I goin punish him an let um go.”
23 Dey yell even moa loud dat he gotta die on da pos. Dey yell so much dat Pilate wen give in.
24 So he choose fo do wat dey ask.
25 Den he let go da guy da peopo wen ask fo, da guy dat wuz lock up fo murda an fo goin agains da govament. But he give Jesus up jus like dey wanted.
26 Az da soldiers wuz taking him away, dey grab one guy coming from da countryside named Simon. He from Cy·reʹne. Dey put da torcha pos* on his shoulda fo him carry um behind Jesus.
27 Had plenny peopo following him. Some of dem wuz wahines dat wen pound dea ches cuz dey wuz sad, an dey cry real loud fo him.
28 Jesus turn to dem an sed: “Wahines from Jerusalem, stop crying cuz you sad fo me. Cry fo yoaself an fo yoa kids.
29 Cuz da time coming wen peopo goin say, “Da wahines dat stay happy iz da ones dat no could come hapai, da ones dat neva have kids, an da ones dat neva nurse one bebe!”
30 Den dey goin start fo tell da mountains, “Cova us!” an tell da hills, “Hide us!”
31 If dis happen wen da tree iz still green,* den wat goin happen wen da tree iz all dry up?”
32 Dey wuz taking two odda guys dat wuz crooks fo be killed wit Jesus.
33 Wen dey get to da place called Skull, dey nail him to da pos an put um in da middo of da crooks, so dat one wuz on his right an da odda wuz on his lef.
34 But Jesus wuz saying: “Faddah, fogive dem, cuz dey donno wat dey doin.” An dey throw small stones* fo see who goin get his clothes.
35 Da peopo stan dea an watch. But da rulas make fun of him an say: “He can save odda guys, but if he da Christ dat God wen choose, let um save himself.”
36 Even da soldiers make fun of him. Dey come by him an give him sour wine.
37 Dey tell um: “If you da King of da Jews, save yoaself.”
38 An had one sign above him dat tell: “Dis da King of da Jews.”
39 Den one of da crooks hanging dea start fo talk smack to him. He tell: “You da Christ ah? Try save yoaself an us too!”
40 Den da odda crook scold um an tell: “You not sked of God o wat? You wen get da same punishment az him.
41 Fo shua we getting wat we deserve, but dis guy neva do notting wrong.”
42 Den he sed: “Jesus, rememba me wen you come King.”*
43 Jesus tell um: “Today I tell you fo shua, you goin be wit me in Paradise.”
44 By now wuz about 12 o’clock* in da aftanoon an wen come real dark all ova da place til 3 o’clock*
45 cuz da sun stop shining. Den da curtain in da tempo* wen rip in half.
46 An den Jesus yell real loud: “Faddah, I put my life* in yoa hands.” Afta he say dat, he mahke.*
47 Wen da army officer see wat happen, he start fo praise God. He sed: “Fo shua dis guy wuz righteous.”
48 Had choke peopo dea fo see Jesus get killed. Wen dey see evryting dat happen, dey go home pounding dea ches.
49 All da guys dat know him stan far away. And had wahines dea dat come wit him from Galʹi·lee, an dey see dese tings too.
50 Had one guy named Joseph, one memba of da High Court.* He wuz one good guy dat wuz righteous.
51 (Wen guys wanted fo kill Jesus, dis guy neva agree or help dem carry out dea plan.) He from one Ju·deʹan town called Ar·i·ma·theʹa an he wuz waiting fo God’s Govament come.
52 Dis guy go up to Pilate an ask fo Jesus body.
53 An he take Jesus body down an wrap um in nice kine linen an put um inside one tomb* dat wuz cut outa one rock dat no wuz used befoa.
54 Wuz da day fo prepare* fo da Sabbath,* an da Sabbath wuz goin start pretty soon.
55 An da wahines dat wen come wit Jesus from Galʹi·lee also go to da tomb fo see wea dey put his body.
56 Den dey go back home fo get da spices an perfume oils ready. But of course dey wen res on da Sabbath, cuz dass da rules from God.
