IBhayibheli likhuluma kanye nje kuphela ngokudweba umzimba, kuLevitikusi 19:28 lithi: “Akumelwe nizidwebe imifanekiso.” UNkulunkulu wanika isizwe sakwa-Israyeli lo myalo, ngaleyo ndlela esihlukanisa ezizweni ezazisizungezile ezazidweba amagama noma imifanekiso yonkulunkulu bazo emzimbeni. (Duteronomi 14:2) Nakuba uMthetho owanikwa ama-Israyeli ungawabophi amaKristu, kuyafaneleka ukuba sisihlole isimiso okusekelwe kuso lo mthetho.

Ingabe kuyafaneleka ukuba umKristu adwebe umzimba?

Amavesi eBhayibheli alandelayo angakusiza ucabange ngale ndaba:

  • ‘Abesifazane kufanele bazihlobise ngezingubo ezinesizotha.’ (1 Thimothewu 2:9, New American Bible) Lesi simiso sisebenza kwabesifazane nabesilisa. Kufanele sihloniphe imizwa yabanye futhi singagqoki ngendlela edonsa amehlo ngokungadingekile.

  • Abanye bafuna ukwehluka kwabanye kanti abanye badweba umzimba ukuze babonise ukuthi banelungelo lokwenza abakuthandayo ngemizimba yabo. Nokho, iBhayibheli likhuthaza amaKristu: “Ninikele imizimba yenu ingumhlatshelo ophilayo, ongcwele, owamukelekayo kuNkulunkulu, inkonzo engcwele ngamandla enu okucabanga.” (Roma 12:1) Sebenzisa ‘amandla akho okucabanga’ ukuze uhlole ukuthi kungani ufuna ukudweba umzimba wakho. Ukuzidweba kuyabiza futhi kubuhlungu ukuyisusa leyo midwebo. Ucwaningo—kanye nebhizinisi elichumayo lokususa imidwebo—lubonisa ukuthi iningi lalabo abake bazidweba ngokuhamba kwesikhathi bafisa sengathi ukube abazange bakwenze lokho.
