Daniel 5:1-31
5 As for King Bel·shazʹzar, e do big party for 1,000 important people wey de work with-am, and e de drink wine for their front.
2 When the wine still de control Bel·shazʹzar, e command say make them bring the things wey them make with gold and silver wey im papa Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar don take from the temple wey dey Jerusalem, so that the king and the important people wey de work with-am, im concubines and im other wives go fit use them drink.
3 Then, them bring the things wey them make with gold wey them be take from the temple of the house of God wey dey Jerusalem, and the king and the important people wey de work with-am, im concubines* and im other wives use them drink.
4 Them drink wine and them praise the gods wey them make with* gold and silver, wey them make with copper,* iron, wood, and stone.
5 That very time, the fingers of man hand appear and start to write ontop the plaster wey dey the wall of the king palace, opposite the lampstand, and the king fit see the back of the hand as e de write.
6 Then the skin color of the king change* and the things wey dey im mind really make-am fear, im hips de shake and im knees start to jam each other.
7 The king shout with loud voice say make them go call the people wey de use spirit power know wetin other people no know, the Chal·deʹa people* and the people wey de use star talk wetin go happen. The king tell the wise men of Babylon say: “Any man wey read this thing wey the hand write and tell me the meaning, them go wear-am purple cloth, them go put one gold necklace around im neck, and e go rule as the third person for the kingdom.”
8 Then all the wise men of the king come inside, but them no fit read the thing wey the hand write or tell the king the meaning.
9 So King Bel·shazʹzar really fear no be small and im face change color;* and the important people wey de work with-am confuse.
10 Because of the things wey the king and the important people wey de work with-am talk, the queen enter the hall wey them de do party. The queen talk say: “O king, make you continue to live forever. Make you no let the things wey dey your mind make you fear and no let your face change color.*
11 E get one man* for your kingdom wey get the spirit of holy gods. For the time of your papa, them see say this man know things, e get deep sense and e get sense like the sense of gods. King Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar your papa put-am as oga of the priests, people wey de do magic, the people wey de use spirit power know wetin people no know, the Chal·deʹa people,* the people wey de use star talk wetin go happen; this one na wetin your papa do, O king.
12 Because Daniel, wey the king call Bel·te·shazʹzar get special spirit, and e know things and get deep sense to talk the meaning of dreams, to explain riddles, and to solve hard problems.* Now make them call Daniel, and e go tell you the meaning.”
13 So them bring Daniel come front of the king. The king ask Daniel say: “Na you be Daniel, one of the people wey them carry come as slave from Judah, wey my papa the king bring come from Judah?
14 I don hear about you say the spirit of gods dey inside you and them see say you know things and get deep sense and get special sense.
15 Now them bring the wise men and the people wey de use spirit power know wetin people no know come my front, make them read this thing wey the hand write and make them tell me the meaning, but them no fit tell me the meaning of the message.
16 But I don hear about you say you fit de talk meaning of things and de solve hard problems.* Now if you fit read the thing wey the hand write and tell me the meaning, them go wear you purple cloth, them go put one gold necklace around your neck, and you go rule as the third person for the kingdom.”
17 Then Daniel answer the king say: “Make you keep your gifts and give the rewards to other people. But, I go read the thing wey the hand write to the king and tell-am the meaning.
18 As for you, O king, the God Wey High Pass give Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar your papa the kingdom, great things, honor, and power.
19 Because of the great things wey E give-am, all the people, nations, and language groups de shake with fear for im front. Anybody wey e want, e de kill-am or leave-am make e continue to dey alive, and anybody wey e want, e de raise-am high or de disgrace-am.
20 But when e don dey proud for heart and im spirit don stubborn sotey e do wetin e no get right to do, them bring-am down from the throne of im kingdom and remove im honor from-am.
21 Them drive-am comot from among people, and them make im heart to be like animal own, and e begin stay with bush donkeys. Them give-am grass to chop just like bulls, and the dew from the heavens wet im body until e come know say the God Wey High Pass na Ruler for the kingdom of humans and say e de put anybody wey e want for there.
22 “But you, wey be im son Bel·shazʹzar, no gree humble your heart, even though say you know all this things.
23 Instead, you raise yourself high against the Lord of the heavens, and you tell them say make them bring the things from im house for you. Then you, and the important people wey de work with you, your concubines* and your other wives use them drink wine and praise gods wey them make with silver and gold, wey them make with copper, iron, wood, and stones, gods wey no de see anything and hear anything and wey no know anything. But you no praise the God wey your life* and everything wey you de do dey im hand.
24 So e send the hand come, and write this thing for the wall.
25 Na this one be the thing wey e write: MEʹNE, MEʹNE, TEʹKEL, and PARʹSIN.
26 “Na the meaning of the words be this: MEʹNE, God don count the days of your kingdom and e don end-am.
27 “TEʹKEL, them don weigh you for scale and see say you no reach anything.
28 “PEʹRES, them don divide your kingdom and give-am to Media people and Persia people.”
29 Then Bel·shazʹzar give command, and them wear Daniel purple cloth and put gold necklace around im neck; and them announce about-am say e go be the third ruler for the kingdom.
30 Na that same night them kill Bel·shazʹzar wey be Chal·deʹa people king.
31 And them give Da·riʹus wey be Media person the kingdom; e dey around 62 years that time.
