For the second year wey Neb·u·chad·nez′zar de rule as king, e dream some dreams and this one make-am* worry sotey e no fit sleep.
So the king command say make them call the priests wey de do magic, the people wey de use spirit power know wetin people no know, the people wey de do magic, and Chal·de′a* people to tell the king im dreams. So them come inside and stand for front of the king.
Then the king tell them say: “I dream one dream, and I* really de worry because I want know wetin I dream about.”
The Chal·de′a people answer the king for Ar·a·ma′ic language* say: “O king, make you continue to live forever. Tell your servants the dream, and we go tell you the meaning.”
The king answer the Chal·de′a people say: “This one na the last thing wey I go talk: If una no tell me the dream together with the meaning, them go cut una to pieces and turn una houses to public toilets.*
But if una tell me the dream and the meaning, I go give una gifts, I go reward una and really honor una. So tell me the dream and the meaning.”
Them answer for the second time say: “Make the king tell im servants the dream and we go tell you the meaning.”
The king answer them say: “I really know say una de try to gain time, because una know the last thing wey I talk.
If una no tell me the dream, na the same punishment all of una go get. But una don agree to lie to me and deceive me until things change. So make una tell me the dream, and I go know say una go fit explain the meaning.”
The Chal·de′a people answer the king say: “E no get any person for this earth* wey fit do wetin the king want, because no great king or governor don talk say make any priest wey de do magic or person wey de use spirit power know wetin people no know or Chal·de′a person do this kind thing.
Wetin the king talk say make we do really hard, and nobody dey wey fit tell the king this thing except the gods, wey no de live among people.”*
So the king vex no be small and command say make them destroy all the wise men of Babylon.
When e don give the command and them don ready to kill the wise men, them still look for Daniel and im friends to kill them.
So that time, Daniel use sense and e dey careful as e de talk to Ar′i·och the person wey de control the king bodyguard, wey don comot to go kill the wise men of Babylon.
E ask Ar′i·och wey be the officer of the king say: “Why the king give this kind harsh command?” Then Ar′i·och tell Daniel about the matter.
So Daniel enter inside and beg the king make e give-am time to tell the king the meaning of the dream.
Then Daniel go im house and tell im friends wey be Han·a·ni′ah, Mish′a·el, and Az·a·ri′ah about the matter.
E tell them make them pray to the God of heaven to show them mercy about the matter wey concern this secret, so that them no go destroy Daniel and im friends together with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
Then God make Daniel know the secret for vision for night. So Daniel praise the God of heaven.
Daniel talk say:
“Make them praise the name of God forever,*Because na only-am get sense and power.
E de change times and seasons,E de remove kings and de put kings for position,E de give wise person sense and e de make person wey de understand something well, to know things.
E de make person know the deep things and the things wey hide,E know wetin dey darkness,And light dey where e dey.
Na you, O God of my papa-papa them I de thank and praise,Because you don give me sense and power.
And now you don make me know wetin we beg you for;You don make us know wetin de worry the king.”
Then Daniel go inside go meet Ar′i·och, wey the king don choose make e destroy the wise men of Babylon, and e tell-am say: “No destroy any wise man of Babylon. Carry me go inside go meet the king, and I go tell the king the meaning of the dream.”
Quick-quick, Ar′i·och carry Daniel go inside go meet the king and tell-am say: “I don see one man for among the people of Judah wey them carry come as slave, wey go fit tell the king the meaning of the dream.”
The king ask Daniel wey im name na Bel·te·shaz′zar say: “You fit really tell me the dream wey I see and the meaning?”
Daniel answer the king say: “Nobody among the wise men, the people wey de use spirit power know wetin people no know, the priests wey de do magic, or the people wey de use star talk wetin go happen go fit tell the king the secret wey e want know.
But e get one God wey dey the heavens, wey be Person wey de make people know secrets, and e don make King Neb·u·chad·nez′zar know wetin go happen for the last part of the days. This one na your dream, and this one na the visions wey come your head as you lie down ontop your bed:
“As for you, O king, when you dey ontop your bed, the things wey you de think carry you go wetin go happen for future, and the Person wey de make people know secrets don make you know wetin go happen.
As for me, no be because I get sense pass any other person wey dey alive na im make God make me know this secret; instead, na to make the king know the meaning of the dream so that you fit know the things wey you de think for your heart.
“You, O king, be de look and you see one image wey big well-well. That image wey really big and de really shine, stand for your front, and the way e be, de make person fear.
The head of that image na better gold, im chest and im hands na silver, im belle and im laps na copper,
im legs na iron, and some part of im feet na iron and some part na clay.*
You continue to look until them cut one stone come out, but no be hand them use cut-am, and the stone nack the image for im feet wey them make with iron and clay and break them to pieces.
That time, the iron, the clay, the copper, the silver, and the gold, all of them together break to pieces and come be like chaff from the place wey them de separate grain from plant for hot season,* and breeze carry them comot sotey them no see any of them again. But the stone wey nack the image come be big mountain, and e cover the whole earth.
“Na this one be the dream, and now, we go tell the king wetin e mean.
You, O king—the king wey pass other kings wey the God of heaven don give the kingdom to, wey e don make strong, wey e don give power and glory to,
and wey e don put men for im hand, no matter where them de live, together with the animals wey dey bush and the birds wey de fly for up, and wey e don make to rule all of them—na you be the head of gold.
“But after you, another kingdom go stand, wey no even reach you; then another kingdom go still stand, the third one, wey them make with copper, wey go rule the whole earth.
“As for the fourth kingdom, e go strong like iron. But just as iron de break every other thing to pieces and de grind them, yes, like iron wey de scatter something to pieces, e go break and scatter all this ones to pieces.
“And just as you see say some part of the feet and toes na clay wey person wey de mold things de use, and some part na iron, na so the kingdom go divide, but some part of-am go strong like iron, just as you see say iron mix with soft clay.
And just as some part of the toes of the feet na iron and some part na clay, na so part of the kingdom go strong and part of-am go weak.
Just as you see say iron mix with soft clay, them go mix with the people;* but them no go gum together, this one and that one, just as iron no de mix with clay.
“For the time* of those kings, the God of heaven go start one kingdom wey nothing go fit ever destroy. And this kingdom no go move go the hand of any other people. E go break all this kingdoms to pieces and end them, and e go be the only one wey go stand forever,
just as you see say them cut stone come out from the mountain but no be hand them use, and say e break the iron, the copper, the clay, the silver, and the gold to pieces. The Great God don make the king know wetin go happen for future. The dream dey sure, and you fit trust the meaning.”
Then King Neb·u·chad·nez′zar bow down with im face for ground for front of Daniel and show-am honor. And e command make them give-am gift and incense.
The king tell Daniel say: “True-true, una God na God of gods and na Lord of kings, and na Person wey de make people know secrets, because you don make me know this secret.”
Then the king put Daniel for high position and give-am plenty better-better gifts, and e make-am to be ruler for all the area of Babylon and to be oga of the government officers wey de control all the wise men of Babylon.
And the king do wetin Daniel beg for, e put Sha′drach, Me′shach, and A·bed′ne·go make them de handle government matter for Babylon area, but Daniel serve for the king palace.
