Daniel 4:1-37
4 “This one na from King Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar to all the people, nations, and language groups wey de live for all the earth: Make una peace de plenty more-more!
2 I happy to talk about the signs and wonderful things wey the God Wey High Pass don do for me.
3 The signs wey e de do really dey great, and the wonderful things wey e de do really dey powerful! Im kingdom na kingdom wey go last forever, and e go rule from generation to generation.
4 “Me, Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar, be relax for my house and things de go well for me for my palace.
5 I dream dream wey make me fear. As I lie down ontop my bed, the image them and visions wey come my head make me fear no be small.
6 So I give one command make them bring all the wise men of Babylon come my front so that them go fit tell me the meaning of the dream.
7 “That time, the priests wey de do magic, the people wey de use spirit power know wetin people no know, the Chal·deʹa people,* and the people wey de use star talk wetin go happen come inside. When I tell them about the dream, them no fit tell me the meaning.
8 At last na Daniel come meet me, wey im name na Bel·te·shazʹzar, wey be the name to honor my god and the spirit of the holy gods dey ontop-am, and I tell-am the dream:
9 “‘O Bel·te·shazʹzar the oga of the priests wey de do magic, I really know say the spirit of the holy gods dey inside you and no secret too hard for you. So explain to me the visions wey I see for my dream and the meaning.
10 “‘For the visions wey come my head when I dey my bed, I see one tree for the middle of the earth, and e really tall no be small.
11 The tree grow and e come strong, and the top of the tree reach the heavens, and them fit see-am for all the corners of the earth.
12 The leaves of the tree dey fine and im fruit plenty, and food dey for the tree for everybody. Bush animals de go under-am to get shade, and the birds of the heavens de stay ontop the branches, and everything wey get life* de chop from-am.
13 “‘For the visions wey I see wey come my head when I dey ontop my bed, I see one person wey de watch, one holy person wey de come down from the heavens.
14 E shout with loud voice say: “Cut the tree down, cut the branches comot, shake the leaves comot, and scatter im fruit! Make the animals run comot from under-am and make the birds run comot from im branches.
15 But leave the bottom part of the tree wey them cut remain with im roots* for the ground, and tie-am with iron band and copper band, among the grass for the bush. Make the dew of the heavens wet-am, and make im portion dey with the animals among the plants for the earth.
16 Make them change im heart from the heart of human, and make them give-am the heart of animal, and make seven times pass ontop-am.
17 This na wetin the ones wey de watch don talk, and na the holy ones ask for this one, so that people wey dey alive fit know say the Person Wey High Pass na Ruler for the kingdom of man and say e de give-am to anybody wey e want, and e de even put the person wey low pass among men to rule-am.”
18 “‘Na this one be the dream wey me, King Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar see; now make you, O Bel·te·shazʹzar, tell me the meaning, because all the other wise men of my kingdom no go fit tell me the meaning. But na you go fit do-am, because the spirit of holy gods dey inside you.’
19 “That time, Daniel wey im name na Bel·te·shazʹzar, shock for some time, and the things wey dey im mind start to make-am fear.
“The king talk say, ‘O Bel·te·shazʹzar, no let the dream and the meaning make you fear.’
“Bel·te·shazʹzar answer say, ‘O my lord, make the dream concern people wey hate you, and make the meaning concern your enemies.
20 “‘The tree wey you see wey grow and really big and come strong, wey the top reach the heavens and them fit see-am for the whole earth,
21 wey the leaves dey fine, wey get plenty fruit, and get food for everybody, wey bush animals de go stay under-am and wey the birds of the heavens de stay ontop im branches,
22 na you, O king, because you don dey great and don strong, and your power don big sotey e reach the heavens, and your rulership don reach the corners of the earth.
23 “‘And the king see one person wey de watch, one holy person, wey de come down from the heavens wey de talk say: “Cut the tree down and destroy-am, but leave the bottom part of the tree wey them cut remain with the roots* for the ground, and tie-am with iron band and copper band, among the grass for the bush, and make the dew from the heavens wet-am and make im portion dey among the animals for the bush until seven times pass ontop-am.”
24 This one na the meaning, O king; na the thing wey the Person Wey High Pass don command, wey must happen to my lord the king.
25 Them go drive you comot from among people, and you go de stay with the animals wey dey bush, and them go give you grass to chop just like bulls; and the dew of the heavens go wet you and seven times go pass ontop you, until you know say the Person Wey High Pass na Ruler for the kingdom of man and say e de give-am to anybody wey e want.
26 “‘But because them talk say make them leave the bottom part of the tree wey them cut remain with im roots,* your kingdom go be your own again after you don know say na the heavens de rule.
27 So, O king, make you follow my advice. Leave your sins and do wetin correct, and comot hand from bad things, and show mercy to poor people. E fit be say you go continue to enjoy the plenty things wey you don gain and get peace.’”
28 All this things happen to King Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar.
29 Twelve months later, e de waka ontop the roof of the king palace for Babylon.
30 The king be de talk say: “No be Babylon the Great be this wey I don build by myself with my strong power so that e go be king house, and so that e go show the glory of how I great reach?”
31 When the word still dey the mouth of the king, one voice come down from heaven and talk say: “This message na for you, O King Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar, ‘The kingdom don comot from your hand,
32 and them de drive you comot from among people. And you go de stay with the animals wey dey bush, and them go give you grass to chop just like bulls, and seven times go pass ontop you, until you know say the Person Wey High Pass na Ruler for the kingdom of man and say e de give-am to anybody wey e want.’”
33 Just that time, the word wey them talk happen to Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar. Them drive-am comot from among people, and e start to chop grass just like bulls, and the dew from the heavens wet im body, until im hair grow and long just like eagle feathers and im nails be like bird nails.
34 “When that time don end, me Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar, look up to heaven and I start to understand things again; and I praise the Person Wey High Pass, and I give praise and glory to the Person wey de live forever, because im rulership na the rulership wey de last forever and im kingdom na from generation to generation.
35 All the people wey de live for the earth just be like nothing, and e de do according to wetin e want among the angels of the heavens and the people wey de live for the earth. And nobody dey wey fit stop-am* or tell-am say, ‘Wetin you don do?’
36 “Just that time, I start to understand things again, and the glory of my kingdom, my greatness, and my fine-fine things start to come back to me. My people wey get high position and important people start to find out things from me again, and them give me back my kingdom, and them even add more greatness to me.
37 “Now me, Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar, de praise and de honor and de give glory to the King of the heavens, because all the things wey e de do agree with wetin be truth and the way e de do things dey correct, and because e fit disgrace people wey de carry body up.”
