He help them to really understand what the Scriptures mean.—Luke 24:45.
Jesus disciples believe God Word and they try their best to do what it say. (John 17:6) But it was hard for them to understand why Jesus die like criminal. Jesus knew that his disciples were not bad, but they just needed to understand the Scriptures. (Luke 9:44, 45; John 20:9) So he teach them to understand the Scriptures good-good. Let see how he do it when he appear to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus. Jesus not let his disciples to know right away that he the one was walking with them. But, he ask them questions. Why? Maybe he wanted them to talk what was on their heart and how they were feeling. And they tell him how they were feeling. They tell him that they were expecting Jesus to free them from the Roman government. (Luke 24:18-27) Jesus use the Scriptures to help them understand what happen. Later on that evening, Jesus spent time helping the other disciples to understand all this thing them.—Luke 24:33-48. w24.10 14 ¶9-10
“I can’t do anything on my own, but just what the Father teach me, that it I can say.”—John 8:28.
Jesus learn what to say and what to do from his heavenly Father. Jehovah organization following Jesus example by using God Word to give us direction and help us know right from wrong. ( 2 Tim. 3:16, 17) They can remind us all the time to read and apply God Word. We can really benefit when we use our Christian publications to study the Bible. For example, we able to compare Bible teachings with the directions we getting from the organization. When we see that the directions we get coming from the Bible, it can make our trust in Jehovah organization strong. (Rom. 12:2.) Jesus preach “the good news of the Kingdom of God.” (Luke 4:43, 44) Jesus also tell his disciples to preach about the Kingdom. (Luke 9:1, 2; 10:8, 9) Today all of us who part of Jehovah organization, can preach the Kingdom message no matter where we live. w24.04 9 ¶5-7
“We will do all that you have commanded, and we will go wherever you send us.”—Josh. 1:16.
Continue to trust the direction from Jehovah organization. Way back in Israel, Jehovah use Moses and Joshua to give direction to His people. (Josh. 1: 17) Things use to be alright with the Israelites when they accept that Jehovah was using this men them. After plenty years, they form the Christian congregation and the 12 apostles use to give direction. (Acts 8:14, 15) Later on, some elders in Jerusalem also became part of that group. Because they follow the direction from this faithful men them, “the congregations continued to be made firm in the faith and to increase in number day by day.” (Acts 16:4, 5) Today, Jehovah can also bless us when we follow direction from his organization. w24.07 10 ¶10
“I na find David, Jesse son, who my heart agree with.”—Acts 13:22.
Jehovah really use to love King David. He even call him “a man agreeable to my heart.” But David commit serious sins. For example, he love to one man wife and kill the man. According to the Law God gave Moses, David suppose to die. (Lev. 20:10; Num. 35:31) But Jehovah help David to repent. He send his prophet Nathan to King David, even though David wor not thinking about repenting. Nathan use one story to touch David heart. It really touch David heart and it make him to repent. (2 Sam. 12:1-14) He write one song to show how he wor feeling sorry for the thing he do. (The writing over Ps. 51) That song na touch plenty people heart and make them to repent. Ehn we happy that Jehovah love David and help him to repent? w24.08 10 ¶9
“Prove to yourselves the good and acceptable and perfect will of God..”—Rom. 12:2.
Plenty people can agree that to bring children up that not small work. If you parent and you get young children, we want tell you thank you plenty for trying your best to help them to get strong faith in God. (Deut. 6:6, 7) But when your children start getting big, maybe they will start asking you serious questions about your beliefs in the Bible, and why Jehovah not want us to do certain things. From the beginning, maybe you will be worrying about the question dem your children asking. Maybe you will even start thinking that they not get strong faith in God and the Bible. But to talk the truth, when your children be getting big, they need to ask questions so they can make their own faith strong. (1 Cor. 13:11) So no need for you to be scary. When they ask questions, use that time to help them to learn how to think good-good and make their faith strong. w24.12 14 ¶1-2
“We are . . . the sort who have faith for the preserving of our lives.”—Heb. 10:39.
The Hebrew Christians needed strong faith to survive the destruction that was coming happen in Judea. (Heb. 10:37, 38) Jesus tell his follower them that when they see the army people surrounding Jerusalem, they must run away to the mountains. What Jesus say apply to all the Christian them, whether they were living in the city or in the interior part of Judea. (Luke 21:20-24) Way back when the army people use to attack, the people will run for protection in the city like Jerusalem that were having fence. So running away to the mountains was not making sense and they needed strong faith to do it. The Hebrew Christians also needed to trust those who Jesus was using to direct the congregation. Maybe those who were taking the lead give particular direction on when they must run away and how they must do it. .—Heb. 13:17. w24.09 10 ¶9-10
He gave gifts in men.—Eph. 4:8.
When Jesus was on earth, he do the work just how his Pa tell him to do it. (John 17:4) But Jesus was not thinking that he the only one who was able to do the work that Jehovah wanted him to do. He train other people to do the work. Jesus tell his disciples to preach and teach the good news and take care of Jehovah sheep. Jesus gave his disciples straight counsel but he do it with love. Some of them were not really believing the things that were happening, so he counsel them. (Luke 24:25-27; John 20:27) He make it clear that they must mainly focus on taking care of Jehovah people instead of their own work. (John 21:15) He remind them to not worry too much about the privileges other people will get. (John 21:20-22) He correct some wrong ideas they were having about the Kingdom and he help them to focus on preaching the good news.—Acts 1:6-8. w24.10 15-16 ¶13-14
“The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live forever on it.”—Ps. 37:29.
When we obey Jehovah, we will live forever. Just like the Israelite dem who wor about to enter the Promise Land, we our self too will soon enter God new world that he promise. During that time, we will see the earth turning to paradise. (Isa. 35:1; Luke 23:43) Satan and his demons will be destroy forever. (Rev. 20:2, 3) False religion will not fool people again. (Rev. 17:16) Human being governments will not suffer people again. (Rev. 19:19, 20) Jehovah will not allow anybody to cause problem in paradise. (Ps. 37:10, 11) People all over the world will obey Jehovah laws, so they will live in unity and peace. So they will love and trust each other. (Isa. 11:9) Ehn that wonderful hope yeh! Beside that, if we obey Jehovah, we will continue to live in paradise forever and ever.— John 3:16. w24.11 9 ¶7
“They will preach this good news about the Kingdom all over the world. So that all the nations can get the chance to hear it.”—Matt. 24:14.
The prophecy in today daily text fulfilling in our time more than ever before. We preaching the good news in more than 1,000 languages. And because of the jw.org website, plenty people around the world can learn about the good news. But Jesus also tell his disciples that they will not “complete the circuit of the cities,” or be able to preach to everybody, before he come to judge people. (Matt. 10:23; 25:31-33) The thing Jesus say will also happen in our time. Plenty people today living in areas where we not get freedom to preach. Beside that one, every minute plenty children can be born. We can do our best to preach the good news to people from “every nation and tribe and tongue.” (Rev. 14:6) But to talk the true, we will not be able to preach the good news to each person on the earth before the end come. w24.05 10 ¶6-7
“They not two again, but one flesh,.”—Matt. 19:6.
The way Jesus use to talk to people made them feel good, and it comfort them. He not use to talk harsh way to his disciple dem. (Luke 8:47, 48) Ehn that good example here for Christian husbands? Jesus tell husbands to remain faithful to their wife. He quote from his Pa who say husband must “stick to his wife.” (Matt. 19:4-6) The Greek word they use in this verse for “stick to” mean “to glue.” So, the love between the husband and the wife must really be strong just like they glue them together. Nothing can move them from together without hurting two of them. The husband who love his wife, will not look at any kindna naked man and naked woman picture or video. When he see anything that not looking correct, he will take his eye from there quick-quick. (Ps. 119:37) When he do it, it will be just like he signing contract with his eyes to not look at any woman to get feelings for her.—Job 31:1. w25.01 10 ¶12-13
Our God . . . will forgive in a large way.—Isa. 55:7.
People can mean different-different things when they say they forgive. The way Jehovah can forgive different from the way we can forgive each other. Nobody can forgive like Jehovah. The psalmist say this one about Jehovah: “With you there is true forgiveness, so that you may be held in awe.” (Ps. 130:4) Yes, Jehovah forgiveness that “true forgiveness.” He the one can show us what it really mean to forgive. The people who write the Bible use certain Hebrew word to describe the way Jehovah can forgive. And they never use that word to describe the way human being can forgive. When Jehovah forgive somebody, he can erase the person sin altogether. That person can get good friendship with him again. We really grateful that Jehovah always willing to forgive us. w25.02 8 ¶1-3
“He also tell us to preach to the people and explain good-good.”—Acts 10:42.
To be successful in the field service not depend on whether people listen to us or not. Why we say so? Because we doing what Jehovah and his son want us to do, and that to preach the good news. Even if we not find anybody to talk with or nobody want listen to us, we can be happy because we know that we making our heavenly Father happy. (Prov. 27:11) We can also be happy when another publisher find interested person in the territory. The Watchtower compare our work to looking for child that lost. Plenty people can go different-different places to look for that child. When they find the child, everybody can be happy, that not just the person who find him. That the same way the preaching work looking. All of us working together. We need everybody in the congregation to preach in the territory, and all of us can be happy when somebody start coming to the meetings. w24.04 18 ¶13-14
“All those who wor having good heart and wanted to live forever accept the good news.”—Acts 13:48.
We can’t wait to see the interesting thing them that will happen in the future! With Jehovah help, we hope to see plenty people take the truth before the great tribulation start. Also, we really-really happy to know that it will be possible for people to leave Satan world and join us to praise Jehovah even during the great tribulation! In the meantime, we get important work to do. We get the privilege to preach the good news about God Kingdom all over the earth. And we will never do this work again. So we must continue warning people about what will soon happen. People need to know that this wicked world will soon be destroy. Love for the good news, love for people, and most important, love for Jehovah God and his name must move us to continue preaching now-now with our whole heart and with zeal, until Jehovah say, “It enough!” w24.05 19 ¶14-16
Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the haughty ones, but he gives undeserved kindness to the humble ones.—1 Pet. 5:5.
The night before Jesus die, he teach Peter and the other apostle dem one important lesson about how to be humble. His apostle dem mouth wor full because he wor doing something that servant suppose to do. Jesus take off his coat, wrap the towel around him, put water in the basin, and start washing their foot. (John 13:4, 5) It take some time to wash all his 12 apostle dem foot. He even wash Judas foot, who wor coming betray him. But Jesus wor humble and he finish the work. Then Jesus take his own time to tell them say: “Do you understand what I have done to you? You address me as ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are correct, for I am such. Therefore, if I, the Lord and Teacher, washed your feet, you also should wash the feet of one another.”—John 13:12-14. w25.03 10 ¶9-11
“You guide me with your advice, and afterward you will lead me to glory.”—Ps. 73:24.
The world can make it hard for us to remain close to Jehovah. Plenty people not agree that God real. Most of the time, it can be looking like people who not serving God enjoying life. When we see that one happening, it can test our faith. Even though we believe that God real, but maybe, we can start thinking whether he able to help us. The person who write Psalm 73, was also thinking like this for some time. He use to see people around him who was not having time for God laws and still enjoying their life. Because of that, he start thinking whether it was important to serve God. (Ps. 73:11-13) Wetin help the psalmist to change the way he was thinking? He think good-good on what will happen to people who stop trusting Jehovah. (Ps. 73:18, 19, 27) He also think about the benefits we can get when we serve God. We too can think on the blessings that Jehovah na give us. w24.06 25 ¶16-17
“Let your way of life be free of the love of money.”—Heb. 13:5.
In Bible times, some people not use to treat their poor brothers fair by putting interest on the money they use to credit. Also, some judges use to accept bribes to cheat innocent people. Jehovah hate for people to do this kind na thing them. (Ezek. 22:12) It good for us to think about how we feel about money by asking our self this question them: ‘I can always think about money and what I can buy with it? When I credit money, it can be hard for me to pay and I can be thinking that the person who credit me not need it? Money can make me feel that I important more than other people, or it can make it hard for me to do good? I can think that my brother and sister them like material things too much just because they get money? I can only be friendly with people who get plenty money and not get time for people who not get it?’ We can continue to be Jehovah friend if we try our best to not like money business too much. If we do it, Jehovah will never leave us! w24.06 12-13 ¶17-18
“I refuse to walk on any evil path, so that I may keep your word.”—Ps. 119:101.
To protect our self when we face temptation, we must learn how to think the right way. If we learn to “hate what is bad and love what is good,” we will really want try our best to do the right thing. (Amos 5:15) When we get strong desire to do the right thing, we will also be able to fight against temptation even if we find our self in situation we not expecting. We can get it when we continue to do things that will make our love for Jehovah more strong. When we in meetings or field service, our desire to make Jehovah happy can be more strong. (Matt. 28:19, 20; Heb. 10:24, 25) When we read and study the Bible and think good-good about what we read, it will help us to love good things and hate bad things. (Josh. 1:8; Ps. 1:2, 3; 119:97) Remember, Jesus tell his disciples: “Pray continually, so that you may not enter into temptation.” (Matt. 26:41) When we do it, we give Jehovah the opportunity to help us. Beside that, it will make us to want do our best to make Him happy.—Jas. 4:8. w24.07 17-18 ¶14-16
“I will give you insight and instruct you in the way you should go. I will give you advice with my eye upon you.”—Ps. 32:8.
Try to follow Jehovah example when you training people. Remember, Jehovah can give his wisdom to people free. That the same way we must teach other people what we know, and we must do it free. We must not be scare that when we teach people all the things we know, they will take our assignment from us. Or we must not get the thinking ‘that since nobody train me, he must learn it on his own too!’ None of Jehovah people must be having that kindna attitude. But we must be happy to teach other people everything we know and also do our best to train them. (1 Thess. 2:8) And we hope that they their self will be qualify to teach other people too. (2 Tim. 2:1, 2) When we do it, all of us will continue to be happy. w24.09 29 ¶12-13
“Individually we are members belonging to one another.”—Rom. 12:5.
If you feel that you not get any special talent, don’t be discourage. We sure that you get some qualities that you can use to help the congregation. You can benefit by reading what Paul say in 1 Corinthians 12:12-30 and ask Jehovah to help you apply it. The thing Paul say make it clear that all Jehovah servants get important part to play in the congregation. Do what you able to do to serve Jehovah and help your brother and sister dem. You can be sure that the elder dem will think about your situation and give you assignments that you able to do. (Rom. 12:4-8) All Christians must draw close to Jehovah, get the happiness that can come from giving, and set good example in the way Christian can live. w24.11 17 ¶12-13
“She began to pray to Jehovah and to weep uncontrollably.”—1 Sam. 1:10.
Hannah face different-different problems that make her to cry. One of the problem she wor facing that, her husband wor having another wife. Her name wor Peninnah, and she never use to like Hannah business. To make matter worse, Hannah wor not having any children, but Peninnah wor having plenty children. (1 Sam. 1:1, 2) Peninnah continue putting her mouth on Hannah because Hannah wor not able to born. Hannah wor feeling so bad that she wor just crying and not even able to eat. She wor “extremely bitter” in her heart. (1 Sam. 1:6, 7, 10) Wetin make Hannah heart to lay down? She always use to go to the tabernacle, the main place they use to worship Jehovah. she beg Jehovah there and say: “Look upon the affliction of your servant and remember me.” (1 Sam. 1:11) Jehovah understand her feelings, listen to her, and later on bless her by allowing her to get pregnant.—1 Sam. 1:19, 20; 2:21. w24.12 21 ¶5-7
“I was especially fond of the sons of men.”—Prov. 8:31.
The ransom teach us that Jesus really care for people, especially his disciple dem. (John 13:1) For example, Jesus knew that some of the thing dem he wor coming do on earth wor coming be hard for him, like the painful way he wor coming die. But Jesus do all this thing dem not because Jehovah tell him to do it, but because he love people. Jesus put his whole heart in preaching, teaching, and serving other people. So even on the day he wor coming die, Jesus wash his apostle dem feet, encourage them and give them direction. (John 13:12-15) Then when he was on the stake, Jesus use small time to give hope to the criminal that wor near him and he also made arrangement for somebody to take care of his ma. (Luke 23:42, 43; John 19:26, 27) Jesus show that he love people by dying for them, and also treating them with love and kindness. w25.01 23 ¶11
He bore the punishment for our peace, and because of his wounds we were healed.—Isa. 53:5.
The Bible use another example to help us understand how we can feel good when Jehovah forgive us. Because we not perfect, the Bible say we “slaves of sin.” But we want tell Jehovah thank you plenty for forgiving us, because we looking like slaves who he na “free from sin.” (Rom. 6:17, 18; Rev. 1:5) Yes, when we know that Jehovah na forgive us, we can really be happy just like when they free slave. But Jehovah na heal us, because he gave his Son to die for us. (1 Pet. 2:24) When we sin, our friendship with Jehovah can spoil. But because Jesus die for us, Jehovah can forgive us and we can get close friendship with Him again. When somebody get better from their bad sickness, they can be happy. That the same way we can really be happy when Jehovah heal us from our spiritual sickness and make us to be friendly with him again. w25.02 11 ¶16; 12 ¶17
“If you keep on doing these things, you will by no means ever fail.”—2 Pet. 1:10.
In the parable about the talents, Jesus talk about two slaves who were faithful to their master and one slave who was not faithful. (Matt. 25:14-30) The two faithful slaves stand for faithful anointed Christians. The Master, Jesus, invite them to “enter into the joy of [their] master.” They get their reward in heaven through the first resurrection. (Matt. 25:21, 23; Rev. 20:5b) But the bad example the lazy slave set, that warning for anointed Christians. How? They must show that they hardworking. In the parable about the talents and the virgins, Jesus was not saying that anointed Christians was coming be lazy. But he was explaining what was coming happen if they allow their zeal to go down. If that one happen to them, then they will not make their “calling and choosing sure for [themselves],” and Jehovah will not allow them to enter in the Kingdom in heaven. w24.09 22 ¶10; 23 ¶12-13
Make sure of the more important things.—Phil. 1:10.
All of us want be able to provide for we and our family. (Eccl. 7:12; 1 Tim. 5:8) So when we deciding what work to do, it not wrong to think about the amount of money we will get. But if we only thinking about the amount of money we will get, than it mean we walking by sight. When we walking by faith, we will also think about how the work will affect our friendship with Jehovah. So maybe we can ask ourself: ‘This work will make me to do thing dem that Jehovah hate?’ (Prov. 6:16-19) ‘It will make me to miss meetings, field service and stop studying the Bible? It will make me to not be with my family for long time?’ If your answer to this question dem that yes, then it will be good to not take the work, even if it hard to find work. Because we walking by faith, we will make decisions that show that we trust that Jehovah will take care of us and give us what we need.—Matt. 6:33; Heb. 13:5. w25.03 21 ¶5-6
“[Be] kind to one another, tenderly compassionate, freely forgiving one another.”—Eph. 4:32.
We must always try to see our Christian brothers and sisters the same way Jehovah see them. We can do it by focusing on their good-good ways instead of the small-small mistakes they can make. We can settle our problems with love. Then the spiritual paradise will encourage people who want people to treat them the same way. Let continue to be grateful for the paradise that Jehovah na make for us. Anybody who want be refresh, satisfy, calm, and safe must come in this spiritual paradise and never move from there! But let be careful because Satan trying his best to take us from there. (1 Pet. 5:8; Rev. 12:9) We must not allow him to do it. So, let all of us continue working hard to protect this clean and peaceful spiritual paradise that we enjoying today. w24.04 24-25 ¶18-19
“Put the Kingdom . . . first.—Matt. 6:33.
Parents, yor can help yor children to get zeal for Jehovah. Teach your children by what you say and do. Help them to understand that the most important things in life, that studying the Bible, going to meetings and preaching. Or else, they will worship Jehovah just because they see you doing it, and not because they love him. Because of that, maybe they will feel that worshiping Jehovah not important or maybe they will even stop serving him. You think somebody who na stop serving Jehovah can’t be Jehovah friend again? No, because he able to repent and still come back to Jehovah. To do it, he must be humble to accept help from the elder them. (Jas. 5:14) Any effort he make to be Jehovah friend again will not be for nothing! w24.07 24-25 ¶18-19
“Flee from sexual immorality!”—1 Cor. 6:18.
When you dating, how you can avoid things that Jehovah hate? The more yor feelings grow for each other, it normal that yor will feel close to each other. What can help you to avoid doing anything wrong? Avoid talking about rude-rude things. Two of yor must not be together alone. And avoid plenty drinking. (Eph. 5:3) This thing them can make you to get strong feeling to do man and woman business and it can make it hard for you to do the right thing. It will be good for yor to always talk about things yor can do to show respect for each other and Jehovah standards. (Prov. 22:3) The more yor relationship grow, yor can decide on how to show affection to each other in the right way. But if your feeling get too strong, it will be very hard for you to think about the other person the right way. (Song of Sol. 1:2; 2:6) Also, showing affection can make it easy for you to lose self-control and do something that Jehovah hate. (Prov. 6:27) So, soon you start dating, talk about some Bible principles, and set boundaries about what yor will do, and what yor will not do.—1 Thess. 4:3-7. w24.05 29 ¶10-11
“Let your ‘Yes’ mean yes, and let your ‘No’ mean no.”—Matt. 5:37.
We want be somebody who people can depend on mainly during hard time. (Prov. 17:17) Wetin we can do so other people can depend on us? We can do our best to imitate Jehovah qualities every day. For example, we can keep our promise and try hard to be on time. Elders who people can depend on can benefit the congregation. How? When the brothers and sisters know that they can call the elders any time they need help, it can make them to not worry too much. Also, when the elder them willing to help the brothers and sisters, it can make them to feel that the elders care for them. When the elders use the Bible and publications to give counsel instead of their own idea, it can make the brothers and sisters to trust them more. The brothers and sisters also trust any elder who can’t tell other people about their brothers and sisters personal matter and can keep their promise. w24.06 30 ¶14-15
“You will give them continuous peace, because it is in you that they trust.”—Isa. 26:3.
Today, we must not expect Jehovah to move all our problems. But we can be sure that he will always comfort us. (Ps. 41:3) He will use his holy spirit to give us strength, wisdom, and the peace we need to bear our problem. (Prov. 18:14; Phil. 4:13) He can also comfort us by giving us hope that in the future nobody will get sick again. (Isa. 33:24) When we feeling bad, the thing dem Jehovah say in the Bible can comfort us. (Rom. 15:4) When the doctor tell one sister in West Africa that she wor having cancer, she always use to cry. She say: “One scripture that can really comfort me that Isaiah 26:3. . . . This Bible verse help me to see that Jehovah can give us the kindna peace we need to control how we will act when we face problem.” You get any Bible verse that can make your heart to lay down when you going through serious problem that make it look like you not get hope? w24.12 24 ¶17-18
When he wor far off, his pa saw him and started feeling sorry for him and he run and hug him and kiss him.—Luke 15:20.
The elder dem can show that they forgive those who na leave the congregation. They want all those who na leave Jehovah to “come back home.” (Luke 15:22-24, 32) When one person come back to the congregation, Jehovah, Jesus, the angels and the whole congregation can be happy! (Luke 15:7) It clear that Jehovah can’t allow anybody who sin and refuse to change to remain in the congregation. But he can’t also turn his back on them. He want them to come back. We can see the way Jehovah feel about them in Hosea 14:4. He say: “I will heal their unfaithfulness. I will love them of my own free will, because my anger has turned away.” This one can help the elder dem to look for any small sign that show that the person changing. And what Jehovah say must also help those who na leave him to come back quick-quick. w24.08 28 ¶8-9
“Show yourselves thankful.”.—Col. 3:15.
To talk the truth, some people will not always say thank you for what we do for them. Sometime, we can use our time, energy, or material things to help people. But we can be thinking whether they grateful for what we do for them. If this one happen, wetin can help us to still be happy and not feel bad? Remember, our happiness not depend on whether people say thank you or not. (Acts 20:35) We can still enjoy giving even if people not tell us thank you. How? Focus on following Jehovah example. He can give good things to people whether they show that they grateful or not. (Matt. 5:43-48) Jehovah promise that when we follow his example to give “without hoping for anything back,” our “reward will be great.” (Luke 6:35) When the Bible say “anything”, it can also mean, saying thank you. So, whether people tell us thank you or they not say thank you, Jehovah will bless us for the good we do for them because we ‘cheerful givers.’—Prov. 19:17; 2 Cor. 9:7. w24.09 29 ¶14-16
