I will not stay resentful forever.—Jer. 3:12.
The elder dem must try their best to follow Jehovah example to feel sorry for somebody who they na move from the congregation. For example, Jehovah not wait for the Israelite dem to repent before he help them. But, he take the first step to help them even before they wor thinking about repenting. Jehovah show that he get sorrowful heart when he tell the prophet Hosea to go forgive his wife, even though she wor still committing sin. (Hos. 3:1; Mal. 3:7) Like Jehovah, the elders really want somebody who sin to repent and come back to the congregation. And they will not make it hard for the person to come back. In Jesus story about the son who leave his pa house, his pa “ran and embraced [his son] and tenderly kissed him.” (Luke 15:20) Remember that the pa not wait for his son to beg him before he forgive him. But his pa wor the first to run to him because he love him. w24.08 28 ¶7-8
If any one of you is lacking in wisdom, let him keep asking God, for he gives generously to all and without finding fault.—Jas. 1:5; ftn.
The scripture for today daily text just show that Jehovah not mean with his wisdom. He can give it to people free. James also say that when Jehovah give wisdom, he can do it “without reproaching,” or “without finding fault.” He will never make us feel bad because we ask him for wisdom. In fact, he encourage us to ask for it, (Prov. 2:1-6) What about us? You think we can follow Jehovah example by teaching other people what we know? (Ps. 32:8) Jehovah people get plenty opportunities to teach other people what they know. For example, most of the time we can train new publishers in field service. The elder them can take their own time to help ministerial servants and baptize brothers to learn how to do their assignments in the congregation. And brothers and sisters who know how to do construction and maintenance work can help to train other people so they can work on construction. w24.09 28-29 ¶11-12
You became so beloved to us.—1 Thess. 2:8.
Brothers, to qualify to be elder, you must “be irreprehensible.” That mean, you must get good name in the congregation because your good behavior will make people to not accuse you of doing something wrong. (1 Tim. 3:2) Beside that, you must get fine testimony from outsiders. That true, people who not serving Jehovah will criticize your beliefs, but they must know that you honest person and you get good behavior. (Dan. 6:4, 5) Think on this question here, ‘I get good name inside and outside the congregation?’ If you love goodness, you will look for the good in other people and tell them thank you for their fine-fine qualities. (Titus 1:8) You will also be happy to do good for other people. You will even do things that people not expecting you to do for them. Why this quality really important for elders? Because they can use plenty of their time to care for the brother and sister dem in the congregation and do other assignments. (1 Pet. 5:1-3) Even though this one that hard work, but they can enjoy the happiness that can come from working for their brother and sister dem.—Acts 20:35. w24.11 20-21 ¶43-5
“You will be more happy when you give to people than when people give to you.”—Acts 20:35.
Ministerial servants can do important work in the congregations. The apostle Paul show that he wor grateful for this faithful men dem. For example, when he wor writing to the Christians in Philippi, he also send his greetings to ministerial servants and elders. (Phil. 1:1) Plenty baptize brothers whether young or old, can be happy to be ministerial servants. For example, Devan wor 18 years old when they appoint him as ministerial servant. But they appoint one brother name Luis when he wor around 50 years old. How he wor feeling when they appoint him? He say, “I so happy to work for my brothers and sisters, especially when I think about all the love they na show me!” If you baptize brother and you not ministerial servant yet, you think you can make it your goal? w24.11 14 ¶1-3
I beg you, O Jehovah, remember . . . how . . . I have done what was good in your eyes.—2 Ki. 20:3.
When King Hezekiah of Judah wor 39 years old, he learn that he wor having some kindna serious sickness. Jehovah use the prophet Isaiah to tell Hezekiah that he wor coming die from that sickness. (2 Ki. 20:1) Hezekiah wor feeling that he not get any hope again. The news really break his heart, so he cry bad way. He beg Jehovah to help him. When Jehovah hear Hezekiah prayer and see the way he wor crying, he feel sorry for him and say: “I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Here I am healing you.” So, Jehovah use Isaiah to tell Hezekiah that he will live for long time so he can free Jerusalem from the Assyrians. (2 Ki. 20:4-6) You get any serious sickness that making you to feel that you not get any hope? Pray to Jehovah and even cry to him for help. The Bible tell us that, “the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort” will comfort us in all our trials.—2 Cor. 1:3, 4. w24.12 24 ¶15-17
“I get hope in God and da the same hope this men dem also get, da the people dem who righteous and the people dem who not righteous will come back to life.”—Acts 24:15.
We will really be happy to welcome people who will be coming back to life! Imagine how you will enjoy learning more about Jehovah by studying the different-different thing dem he made. (Ps. 104:24; Isa. 11:9) But the best one that, you will not feel guilty because you will not do anything wrong! You think you will turn your back on all this blessing dem just for “the temporary enjoyment of sin”? (Heb. 11:25) We sure you will not do it! This blessing dem better pass any sacrifice we making now-now. Remember that the Paradise earth not something we will wait for, forever. We sure it will come and we will live there. All this one dem wor not coming be possible if Jehovah not really love us, to give his Son to die for us! w25.01 29 ¶12
Is the hand of Jehovah too short?—Num. 11:23.
The book of Hebrews talk about plenty people who wor having faith in Jehovah. One of them wor Moses who wor really having strong faith. (Heb. 3:2-5; 11:23-25) Moses continue to trust in his God and Jehovah not let him down. Jehovah perform miracle to provide food and water to take care of his people in the wilderness. (Ex. 15:22-25; Ps. 78:23-25) Even though Moses wor having strong faith, but one year after he free the Israelite dem, he start thinking whether Jehovah wor really able to provide meat for His people. Moses wor really thinking how Jehovah wor coming be able to provide enough meat for the plenty people that wor in the wilderness. So Jehovah ask him: “Is the hand of Jehovah too short?” (Num. 11:21-23In other word, Jehovah wor asking Moses, ‘You not really think that I able to do what I say I will do?’ w25.03 26 ¶1-2
[God] did not refrain from punishing an ancient world.—2 Pet. 2:5.
You think it will be good for us to say that, everything that happen during the Flood will also happen in the future? The answer that no. Why? Because the Bible not say anything like that. That true, Jesus compare the days of Noah to the time of his presence. But he not say that everything that happen during the Flood will happen in the future like the time Jehovah close the ark door. (Matt. 24:37-39) Wetin Noah do when he hear the warning message from Jehovah? He show faith by building the ark. (Heb. 11:7; 1 Pet. 3:20) That the same way, people who hear the good news about God Kingdom must show faith by doing the things they learn. (Acts 3:17-20) Peter call Noah “a preacher of righteousness.” Today too, we doing our best to preach with zeal to everybody around the world. But no matter how we try our best, we will not be able to preach to everybody on earth before the end come. w24.05 9-10 ¶43-5
He honors those fearing Jehovah.—Ps. 15:4.
We must look for ways to be kind and show respect to Jehovah friends. (Rom. 12:10) How? Psalm 15:4 talk about one way we can do it. It say that somebody who guest in Jehovah tent, “does not go back on his promise, even when it is bad for him.” When we break our promise, it can really make other people to feel bad. (Matt. 5:37) For example, Jehovah expect husband and wife to keep the promise they made to each other when they were getting marry. He can also be happy, when parents try their best to keep any promise they make to their children. Because we love God and our neighbor, we will try our best to keep any promise that we make. Another way we can honor Jehovah friends, that to be kind and free handed. (Rom. 12:13) Beside field service and meetings, when we spend time with our brother them, it can make our friendship with them and Jehovah thick. Also, when we free handed, we following Jehovah example. w24.06 12 ¶15-16
What is mortal man that you keep him in mind?—Ps. 8:4.
Be Humble. Jehovah can only show the truth to humble people. (Matt. 11:25) We were humble to accept help to learn the truth. (Acts 8:30, 31) But we still need to be careful so we can’t get proud. If we proud, maybe we will start thinking that our own idea correct the same way Bible principles and the direction them from Jehovah organization correct. To continue to be humble, we must remember that we too small compare to Jehovah power. (Ps. 8:3, 4) We can also ask Jehovah to help us to be more humble and to be willing to learn from other people. Jehovah will help us to value the things we learn from the Bible and his organization more than our own idea. When you doing your Bible reading, look for points that talk about how Jehovah love humble people and hate people who proud. And try hard to remain humble, especially if you get assignment that give you some authority, or that can make other people to notice you.
The little one will become a thousand and the small one a mighty nation. I myself, Jehovah, will speed it up in its own time.—Isa. 60:22.
Since 1919, Jesus been using one small group of anointed men to organize the preaching work and provide spiritual food for his people. (Luke 12:42) It clear that Jehovah really blessing the work they doing. (Isa. 65:13, 14) If we not organize, it will be hard for us to do the work Jesus gave us to do. (Matt. 28:19, 20) For example, suppose we were not having any special territory, then anybody will just go preach anywhere they want preach. Maybe we were coming preach in some territories over and over, and not preach in other territories altogether. You can think of any other way we benefiting because we organize? Just how Jesus organize his people way back, that the same way he doing it today. w24.04 8-9 ¶2-4
If you turn to doing good, will you not be restored to favor? But if you do not turn to doing good, sin is crouching at the door, and its craving is to dominate you.—Gen. 4:7.
Cain wor Adam and Eve first son. He wor born with sin. Beside that, the Bible say: “His own works were wicked.” (1 John 3:12) Maybe that the reason why Jehovah not accept Cain and his offering when he made sacrifice. Instead of changing his ways, Cain get vex bad way and he wor feeling bad. What the next thing Jehovah do? He talk with Cain. (Gen. 4:3-7) Notice that Jehovah take his own time to talk with Cain and gave him hope. Jehovah even warn him that if he not control his anger, he will do something wrong. Sad to say, Cain refuse to listen. He not let Jehovah to help him to repent. You think Cain behavior make Jehovah to stop helping other people to repent? No! w24.08 10 ¶8 “”
Choose life so that you may live.—Deut. 30:19.
The Israelites wor having wonderful hope for the future. With Jehovah blessing, the Israelite dem wor coming to live for long time in the land that he promise them. The land wor really beautiful and it wor having plenty food! Moses describe it for them and say: “Great and fine cities that you did not build, houses full of all sorts of good things that you did not work for, hewn cisterns that you did not dig, and vineyards and olive trees that you did not plant.” (Deut. 6:10, 11) Moses also warn the Israelite dem. For them to continue living in that beautiful land, they suppose to obey Jehovah. Moses encourage them to “choose life” by listening to Jehovah and by “sticking to him.” (Deut. 30:20) But the Israelites not obey Jehovah. So after some time, God allow the Assyrians and the Babylonians to capture them and take them from their land.—2 Ki. 17:6-8, 13, 14; 2 Chron. 36:15-17, 20. w24.11 9 ¶5-6
Nobody can come to me except the Father, who send me, bring him to me.—John 6:44.
Plenty people who call their self Christians feel that just “believing in [Jesus]” and taking him to be their personal savior, will save them. (John 6:29, King James Version) But some people in Galilee who believe in Jesus stop following him. Why? Most of the people in Galilee wor willing to follow Jesus so long he gave them what they want. They wanted him to heal them, give them free food, or tell them the thing dem they want hear. Jesus make it clear that he not just come on earth to give them what they want. But he come to teach them what they must do to be his true followers. They suppose to listen to Jesus invitation when he say “come to me,” by accepting and obeying all the things he wor teaching them.—John 5:40. w24.12 12 ¶12-13
Husbands, continue loving your wives, just as the Christ also loved the congregation.—Eph. 5:25.
If the husband can beat his wife or do things that make her shame, wetin can help him to overcome it? He must try to follow Jesus example. The way he treat his disciple dem, that good example for the way husbands must treat their wife. See what husbands can learn from the way Jesus use to treat his disciple dem and the way he talk to them. Jesus wor always kind to his disciples and he use to treat them with respect. He not use to control them or be harsh on them. Jesus not use his power to make them to be scare of him. But, he bring his self down and serve them. (John 13:12-17) He tell his disciple dem say: “Learn from me, because I humble and it hard for me to get vex and you will feel good.” (Matt. 11:28-30) Notice that Jesus wor hard to get vex. Somebody who hard to get vex, not weak. But they get the strength to be able to control their self. When they vex they can remain calm, and they able to control their feelings. w25.01 10 ¶10-11
Commit to Jehovah whatever you do.—Prov. 16:3.
The way this world coming end, we must expect things to get hard bad way. Government dem will be fighting among theirself. War, natural disasters, or new-new sickness will make things that we not expecting to happen to us. Sometime we will even lose our job, our material thing dem or our home. Wetin will help us to make decisions that will show that we really trust Jehovah? One good way that to tell Jehovah about your situation. Ask him to give you wisdom to make good decisions and for your heart to lay down so you can “stop worrying too much” about your situation. (Luke 12:29-31) Beg Jehovah to help you to be satisfy with the thing dem you get. (1 Tim. 6:7, 8) Find articles in our publication dem that will give you idea on what to do when money business hard on you. Plenty people na benefit from the videos and article dem on jw.org that talk about money problem. w25.03 28-29 ¶10-11
God na show me that I must not tell anybody that they not clean.—Acts 10:28.
It wor time now for Gentiles who not circumcise to be part of God people. So, God send the apostle Peter to preach to Cornelius who wor among the first Gentiles to be Christian. The Jews and the Gentiles never use to see eye to eye. So you can see why Peter needed help to prepare for his assignment. When Peter get to know that the thing God wanted, he change his way of thinking. So, when Cornelius tell Peter to go visit him, he go without asking question. (Acts 10:28, 29) Peter preach to he and his whole family, and they get baptize. (Acts 10:21-23, 34, 35, 44-48) After some years, Peter encourage his brother and sister dem to “think in agreement.” (1 Pet. 3:8, ftn.) We Jehovah people can think in agreement by learning to think like Jehovah according to what we learn from the Bible. w25.03 9-10 ¶7-8
Do not be led astray by various and strange teachings.—Heb. 13:9.
The way people in the world can think and act continue to go far away from the way God can think. (Prov. 17:15) So we must do our best to know and reject ideas that people who against us can use to discourage us or even make us to stop serving Jehovah. We must be serious to do what the apostle Paul tell the Hebrew Christians to do. He say they must continue improving to be mature Christians. To do it, we must study the Bible good-good and try to think the way Jehovah can think. We can continue doing this one even after we give our life to Jehovah and get baptize. No matter how long we na stay in the truth, all of us must always read and study the Bible. (Ps. 1:2) Studying the Bible every day will help us to make our faith more strong. And that what Paul focus on in his letter to the Hebrew Christians.—Heb. 11:1, 6. w24.09 10 ¶7-8
Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you.—Jas. 4:8.
If Jehovah real to us, it will be more easy for us to remain faithful to him. That what happen to Joseph. He refuse to put his hand in girlfriend and boyfriend business. God was real to him and he never wanted to make Him feel bad. (Gen. 39:9) For Jehovah to be real to us, we must find time to pray and study the Bible. Then our friendship with him will get more strong. Like Joseph, if we get close friendship with Jehovah, we will not want do anything that will make Him feel bad. It can be easy for people to not remain faithful to Jehovah when they forget that he the living God. Think about what happen to the Israelites when they were in the wilderness. They knew that Jehovah was living, but they started thinking whether he able to provide for them. (Ex. 17:2, 7) Because of that, they disobey God. So that warning for us, we must never follow their bad example.—Heb. 3:12. w24.06 24 ¶14-15
The eyes of Jehovah are on the righteous, and his ears listen to their cry for help.—Ps. 34:15.
We living deep in the last days, so we must expect that plenty things will make us to cry. Jehovah can see our tears when we cry and he can feel sorry for us and help us. Our tears really important to him. So when we going through serious problems, let tell Jehovah how we really feeling. Let remain close to our loving brother and sister dem in the congregation. And let continue to read the Bible so Jehovah can comfort us. We can be sure that if we remain faithful and continue bearing our problem, Jehovah will bless us. And in the future, he will “wipe every tear from our eyes” and we will not feel pain again. (Rev. 21:4) Then we will only cry because we happy. w24.12 20 ¶3; 25 ¶19
“You are my witnesses, “ declares Jehovah.—Isa. 43:12.
Jehovah na choose us to be his Witnesses, and he promise to give us the courage to preach. (Isa. 43:10, 11) Let see four ways he can do it. (1) Jesus can be with us anywhere we preaching the good news. (Matt. 28:18-20) (2) Jehovah na appoint angels to help us. (Rev. 14:6) (3) Jehovah gave us his holy spirit that can help us to remember the things we learn. (John 14:25, 26) (4) Jehovah na give us our brothers and sisters to work with us. With Jehovah help and the support we getting from our brothers and sisters, we get everything we need to be successful. But if you can feel discourage when you not finding plenty people to their house, Think on this question them: ‘Where I can find the people in my territory right now?’ (Acts 16:13) ‘They gone to work or they gone in the market to buy or to sell?’ You not think it will be good to start doing street witnessing so you can find more people? w24.04 17 ¶10-11
If any man does not know how to preside over his own household, how will he care for the congregation of God?—1 Tim. 3:5.
If you husband and you want be elder, your family need to set good example. So you need to be “presiding over [your] own household in a fine manner.” It mean people must know you to be somebody who love your family and can make good decision for them. This one also mean doing family worship, making sure your family attend all the meetings and helping them to do their best in the field service. If you father and you get children that under age, make sure that they must be in subjection with all seriousness. (1 Tim. 3:4) You need to teach and train them. But you must do it with love. It also good to allow them to be happy, laugh and play like other children. But because you train them good, they will listen to you, respect people, and behave good. Also, you must try your best to help your children to get good friendship with Jehovah, to live by what the Bible say, and to be trying their best to get baptize. w24.11 22 ¶10-11
Nobody get love more than the person who give his life for his friend dem.—John 15:13.
The more we go in the field service, that the more we will see Jehovah helping us, and our love for him will get more strong. (1 Cor. 3:9) Remember, Jehovah can’t compare what you able to do with what other people can do. But he can see what in your heart. He can be happy when he see that you really grateful for his precious gift, the ransom. (1 Sam. 16:7; Mark 12:41-44) That only because of the ransom Jehovah can forgive our sins, we can get good friendship with him, and get the hope to live forever. Let always show that we grateful for Jehovah love because that it move him to give all this blessing dem. (1 John 4:19) Let also show that we grateful for Jesus who really love us and die for us! w25.01 31 ¶16-18
I was troubled all day long.—Ps. 73:14.
Think about how the person who write Psalm 73 was feeling. He saw other people who were looking like they healthy, enjoying good life, and free from problems. (Ps. 73:3-5, 12) When he see all this thing them, it make him feel that the effort he was making to serve Jehovah was just for nothing. It use to worry him all the time and made him feel discourage. (Ps. 73:13, 14) Wetin he do to overcome this bad feelings? The psalmist went to Jehovah sanctuary where he can find peace. (Ps. 73:16-18) It help him to think good-good. He get to understand that even though the people in the world were looking like they enjoying life, but they were not having hope for the future. Because of this, he was able to get peace of mind. He know that putting Jehovah first in his life was the best thing to do. So it help him to get zeal again and continue serving Jehovah.—Ps. 73:23-28. w24.10 27 ¶11-12
May people know that you, whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth.—Ps. 83:18.
Jehovah na choose us to be his “witnesses.” (Isa. 43:10-12) Some years ago, one letter from the Governing Body said: “That not small honor for each of us to be call Jehovah Witness.” Why we say so? Think about this example. If you were in court and you need somebody to be your witness to convince the court that you good person and you not do anything bad, ehn you will choose somebody who you know and trust, somebody who get good behavior and who other people can believe? So, Jehovah choose us to be his Witnesses because he know us good-good, and he trust us to tell other people that he the only true God. So that honor for us to be Jehovah Witnesses. And we can use every opportunity to help people to know his name and to prove that all the bad-bad things they say about him, that so-so lies. When we do this, we will be living up to the name that we so proud to carry, Jehovah Witnesses!—Ps. 83:18; Rom. 10:13-15.
He cure all the people who wor sick.—Matt. 8:16.
Working for other people really use to make Jesus happy. One time when Jesus wor preaching to the people, he not only teach them but he also gave them what they need. He perform miracle to provide food and gave it to his disciples to divide it among the people. (Mark 6:41) He wor teaching his disciples how to serve other people. He also show them that it good to do this kindna small-small work dem for people. Just think how the apostles wor happy to work with Jesus in sharing the food until everybody eat and wor satisfy! (Mark 6:42) But, you think that the only time Jesus put other people first? No. He use his whole life on earth to help people. (Matt. 4:23) Jesus really use to be happy to teach people and care for them. w24.11 16 ¶10-11
In the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here.—2 Tim. 3:1.
In “the last days” things will continue to get worse, so we need to look for opportunities to help each other. We can also give our brothers and sisters the comfort and love they need. One way we can do it, that by making them to feel love and encourage when they come to the meetings. So when our brothers and sisters come to the meetings, we want try our best to encourage them and show them love. Elders can help to protect their brothers and sisters in the congregation when they going through hard time. When disaster happen or somebody just get sick, the elder them can look for way quick-quick to help their brothers and sisters. The elders can also use the Bible to help and encourage the brothers and sisters. They will feel free to ask any elder for help if he kind, get sorrowful heart, and willing to listen to people. This quality them can help the brothers and sisters to feel that the elders care for them. And it will make it more easy for them to apply any direction that come from the elder them.—1 Thess. 2:7, 8, 11. w24.06 29 ¶12-13
He did not even spare his own Son.—Rom. 8:32.
We must not think that God not get feelings because he get all the power! Jehovah get feelings like us because he made us in his image. The Bible say Jehovah can feel hurt and he can grieve. (Ps. 78:40, 41) We sure that Jehovah wor feeling bad. Because he wor seeing how the wicked people wor treating his Son bad, and they even kill him! The ransom teach us that nobody love us like Jehovah, not even our close relative or our best friend. (Rom. 8:32, 38, 39) We can be sure that Jehovah love us more than we love our self. You want live forever? Jehovah want you to live forever more than you want it for yourself. You want Jehovah to forgive your sins? He want forgive you more than you think. The only thing he asking us to do that to put faith in the ransom and obey him. The ransom that precious gift that show how Jehovah really love us.—Eccl. 3:11. w25.01 22-23 ¶8-9
Keep on making sure of what is acceptable to the Lord.—Eph. 5:10.
Sometime, all of us can make decisions base on what we see, hear or feel. But what we can see and hear can’t always be correct. So if we make decisions base only on what we can see or feel, maybe we will end up doing some thing dem that will not make Jehovah happy. (Eccl. 11:9; Matt. 24:37-39) But when we walk by faith, we will be able to make decisions that “acceptable to the Lord.” When we follow God advice it will give us peace and it will make us to really be happy. (Ps. 16:8, 9; Isa. 48:17, 18) And if we continue walking by faith, we will get everlasting life in the future. (2 Cor. 4:18) How we can know whether we walking by faith or by sight? Yeh some question dem that can help us to know: Wetin we can depend on when we making decisions? We can depend only on the thing dem we can see? Or we can depend on our trust in Jehovah and his advice? w25.03 20-21 ¶3-4
Be peaceable with one another.—1 Thess. 5:13.
All of us get important part to play in making the spiritual paradise encouraging to other people. We can do it if we follow Jehovah example. He can’t force people to be part of his organization. Instead, he kindly “draw” them to himself. (John 6:44; Jer. 31:3) People with good heart who learn about Jehovah good-good ways na draw close to him. How our good ways can encourage people to come join the spiritual paradise? One way that by treating our brothers and sisters with love and kindness. When somebody come to our congregation meetings for the first time, we want them to feel the same way the people in Corinth was feeling when they attend the meetings in Corinth way back. They say: “God is really among you.” (1 Cor. 14:24, 25; Zech. 8:23) So let continue following the advice in today daily text. w24.04 23-24 ¶16-17
