“It is honorable for a man to refrain from a dispute, but every fool will become embroiled in it.”—Prov. 20:3.
Brothers who show good-good Christian qualities can really help the congregation. The man who reasonable can promote peace. If you want people to know you to be reasonable, then listen to other people and try to understand their thinking. When yor come together for meeting, you can be willing to support the decision that your other friend dem made, so long it not against Bible laws or principles? Don’t force people to do things the way you want them to do it. Be happy to listen to other people ideas. (Gen. 13:8, 9; Prov. 15:22) You must not be harsh and you must not like arguing with people. But you must be kind to people and show them respect. Be peaceable by being the first to make peace even if it hard to do it. (Jas. 3:17, 18) If you talk to people kind way, it can even help people who against us to calm down.—Judg. 8:1-3; Prov. 25:15; Matt. 5:23, 24. w24.11 23 ¶13
“He will send the angels and they will gather the people dem who God na choose together from all around the world. From one end of the earth to the other end and from one end of the heavens to the other end.”—Mark 13:27.
That true Jesus die “once for all time,” but he still making sacrifices for us. (Rom. 6:10) How? He continue working so that we can benefit from the ransom. See some of the thing dem he doing. He our King, High Priest, and the head of the congregation. (1 Cor. 15:25; Eph. 5:23; Heb. 2:17) He gathering the anointed and the great crowd, and that work will finish before the great tribulation end. (Matt. 25:32) He also making sure that we get plenty spiritual food during this last days. (Matt. 24:45) And during his One Thousand Year Rule, he will continue to work for us. Yes, Jehovah really gave his Son for us! w25.01 24 ¶12
It is as a free gift that they are being declared righteous by his undeserved kindness through the release by the ransom paid by Christ Jesus.—Rom. 3:24.
When Jehovah forgive us, he can’t hold anything against us again. It can make us to get good friendship with our heavenly Father. At the same time, we must remember that true forgiveness that gift. Jehovah can give it to us because he kind, and he love us even though we sinners. It not something that we work for. Each of us must really be grateful that Jehovah that the God of “true forgiveness”! (Ps. 130:4; Rom. 4:8) But if we want for Jehovah to forgive us, we must do one important thing. Jesus say: “If you not forgive people who sin against you, your Father will not forgive your sin too.” (Matt. 6:14, 15) So, it really important to follow Jehovah example and forgive other people. w25.02 13 ¶18-19
“The people dem who righteous and the people dem who not righteous will come back to life.”—Acts 24:15.
Think about the people who Jehovah destroy in Sodom and Gomorrah. One righteous man name Lot was living among them. But we know whether Lot preach to all of them? No. That true they were really wicked, but that all of them knew what was right and what was wrong? Remember, group of men in that city wanted to rape Lot visitors. The Bible say “from boy to old man,” was in that group. (Gen. 19:4; 2 Pet. 2:7) We really know whether our merciful God Jehovah na decide that none of this people them will come back to life? In fact, the city was not even having ten righteous men. (Gen. 18:32) So Jehovah was right to destroy them because they were unrighteous. But you think we can say for sure that none of them will come back during the “resurrection of. . . the unrighteous”? No! w24.05 2 ¶3; 3 ¶8
“Continue to put the Kingdom and the thing dem that right in God eye first, and God will give you all the other thing dem.”—Matt. 6:33.
Because things continue to get hard, some people na accept work that carry them far off from their family. But later on, plenty of them can get to know that not good decision they made. So before you accept new job, don’t only think about the pay you will get, but also think about how it will affect your friendship with Jehovah. (Luke 14:28) Ask yourself this question dem: ‘If I go far off from my partner, how it will affect my marriage? How it will affect my meetings, field service and the time I can spend with my brothers and sisters?’ If you get children, you must also ask yourself this important question: ‘If I not with my children, how I will bring them up “in the discipline and admonition of Jehovah”?’ (Eph. 6:4) If you making the decision, do what Jehovah say and not what your relative or friend dem who not respect the Bible tell you to do. w25.03 29 ¶12
“We should no longer be children.”—Eph. 4:14.
It can be easy for Christian who not mature to believe any false information. He can be jealous of other people, make palaver with them, or be quick to get vex. And most of the time, he can’t stand strong when he facing temptation. (1 Cor. 3:3) The Bible compare spiritual maturity to the different-different stages children can pass through before they get big. (Eph. 4:15) Small child not know what to do so they need big person to tell them what to do. For example, the ma will hold her little daughter hand so they can cross the road. But when the child start getting big, the mother will allow her to cross the road on her own. But she will still remind her to look left and right before crossing the road. When the child get big, she can know how to cross the road on her own. That the same way, when Christians mature, they can use Bible principles to know Jehovah thinking on the matter and follow it. w24.04 3 ¶5-6
“O Jehovah, who may be a guest in your tent?”—Ps. 15:1.
For some time, God friend them was only those living in heaven with Him. Later on, he made human being and he invite them to be his guest too. And some of his guests were people like Enoch, Noah, Abraham, and Job. The Bible show that they were God friends because they obey him, or they were people who walk “with the true God.” (Gen. 5:24; 6:9; Job 29:4; Isa. 41:8.) For plenty years now, Jehovah continue inviting people to be his guests. (Ezek. 37:26, 27) For example, we learn from Ezekiel prophecy that God really want his loyal worshippers to get close friendship with him. He promise to make “a covenant of peace with them.” That prophecy was talking about the time that those who get the hope to go to heaven and those who get the hope to live on earth forever, will be united in His tent to be “one flock.” (John 10:16) And this prophecy happening now-now! w24.06 2 ¶2, 4; 3 ¶5
“We mustered up boldness by means of our God.”—1 Thess. 2:2.
We Jehovah people can support God Kingdom with our whole heart. But most of the time, we need to be brave to be able to do it. (Matt. 6:33) For example, in this wicked world, we need to be brave to be able to live by God laws and to preach the good news about God Kingdom. Also, the world continue to divide people more and more because of politics. So, we need to be brave to not put our hand in politics. (John 18:36) Plenty of Jehovah people na face money problem. They na even beat them or put them in jail because they refuse to take part in politics or join the army. When we think about other people who were brave to stick to Jehovah and His Kingdom, it can make us to be brave too. Our King, Jesus Christ refuse to take part in this world politics when he was on earth. (Matt. 4:8-11; John 6:14, 15) He always use to depend on Jehovah to give him strength. w24.07 3 ¶4; 4 ¶7
“She began taking of its fruit and eating it. Afterward, she also gave some to her husband when he was with her, and he began eating it.”—Gen. 3:6.
Jehovah put this sad story in the Bible for our benefit. It help us to understand why he really hate sin. Sin make us to go far away from our Father, and it can lead to death. (Isa. 59:2) That the reason why Satan who started all this trouble, love sin and he supporting it. Maybe he wor thinking that he na spoil Jehovah purpose for human being. But he not understand that Jehovah that loving God. Jehovah never change his purpose for Adam and Eve children. Because he love human being, he gave them hope right away. (Rom. 8:20, 21) Jehovah knew that some of Adam children wor coming to love him and obey him. Since he their Creator and Father, he wor coming make way to free them from sin and draw them close to him. w24.08 3 ¶3-4
“Make sure of the more important things.”—Phil. 1:10.
Plenty of us that serving Jehovah really busy. We working to provide for our self and our family. (1 Tim. 5:8) Plenty brothers and sisters taking care of their sick or old people. And all of us need to take care of our own health. All this one them can take time. Beside that, we get work to do in the congregation. And one of the main one that to do our best to preach the good news. Bible reading that one of “the more important things” we need to do as Christians. So we must make sure to do it. Talking about what can make somebody happy, the first part of psalm say: “His delight is in the law of Jehovah, and he reads His law in an undertone day and night.” (Ps. 1:1, 2) It clear that we need to find time to read the Bible. What the best time to read the Bible? It depend on the time that alright for you. But the important thing that to choose time that will help you to read the Bible every day. w24.09 3 ¶5-6
“Each one will carry his own load.”—Gal. 6:5.
You think mature Christian not need help from anybody? No. Mature Christians need to ask for help sometime. Somebody who not mature will ask other people to tell them what to do or make decision for them. Somebody who mature will ask other people to get more idea and experience, but at the same time he know that he need to make his own decisions. Just how big-big people can be looking different-different, that the same way mature Christians get different-different spiritual qualities like wisdom, courage, being free handed and feeling sorry for people. Beside that, when two mature Christians face the same situation, maybe they will make different-different decisions that will be in line with Bible principles. This one can happen especially when it get something to do with the conscience. Knowing this will help them to not judge each other, instead they will focus on remaining united.—Rom. 14:10; 1 Cor. 1:10. w24.04 4 ¶7-8
When anxieties overwhelmed me, you comforted and soothed me.—Ps. 94:19.
Wetin you can do if you continue to feel that you not important? Read and think about Bible verse them that show that you important to Jehovah. If you not able to reach your goal or you feeling bad because you not able to do what other people doing, don’t be discourage. Jehovah not expect you to do more than what you able to do. (Ps. 103:13, 14) If somebody na treat you bad before, don’t blame yourself for it. Nobody suppose to treat you like that! Remember that the person who treat you bad, Jehovah will hold responsible. (1 Pet. 3:12) Don’t feel that Jehovah can’t use you to help other people. He na honor you by allowing you to work with him in the preaching work. (1 Cor. 3:9) Maybe the things you pass through in life na help you to feel sorry for people and know how they feel. You able to help them. w24.10 7-8 ¶6-7
“Yor not think God will help the people he na choose to get justice, those who can cry to him every day and night? And he also patient with them? I tell yor, he will make sure they get justice quick-quick.”—Luke 18:7, 8.
Jehovah really care about the way people can treat us. Why? Because “Jehovah loves justice.” (Ps. 37:28) Jesus promise us that Jehovah will “cause justice to be done . . . speedily” when the time come. Jehovah will soon move all our suffering and he will not allow people to treat us bad again. (Ps. 72:1, 2) Jehovah helping us to bear injustice while we waiting for the time he will solve all our problem dem. (2 Pet. 3:13) For example, Jehovah teaching us how to act when people not treat us fair so we can’t make the problem worse. He use his Son example to show us how to act when people treat us bad. And he gave us good-good advice to know what we can do when people not treat us fair. w24.11 2-3 ¶3-4
“Give them something to eat”—Matt. 14:16.
Jesus say they must feed the people. This one that wor problem because around 5,000 men wor there. And when you add the women and children there, it will be around 15,000 people. (Matt. 14:21) So Andrew say: “Here is a little boy who has five barley loaves and two small fish. But what are these among so many?” (John 6:9) Barley loaves that bread they made from barley that people use to eat, and maybe they dry the fish with salt. But still, the amount of food the boy wor having wor not enough to feed everybody. Jesus wanted to do good for the people. So he tell them to sit down on the grass in small-small groups. (Mark 6:39, 40; John 6:11-13) Then Jesus pray to his Pa to tell Him thank you for the bread and the fish. It wor good for Jesus to tell God thank you, because that He the one provide the food. That good lesson here for us to follow Jesus example by praying before we eat. Jesus tell his apostle dem to share the food on the people. All of them eat and their gut wor full. w24.12 2-3 ¶3-4
“Praise Jehovah your God.”—1 Chron. 29:20.
When Jesus wor on earth, he gave honor to his Pa by telling other people that Jehovah give him the power to perform miracles. (Mark 5:18-20) Jesus also give honor to Jehovah by the way he talk about his Pa and the way he use to treat people. One time, Jesus wor teaching in the synagogue. One woman who the demon been giving hard time for 18 years wor there. The demon made her to bent until she wor not even able to stand straight. It wor too sorrowful! Jesus wor feeling sorry for her, so he go close to her and tell her say: “Woman, you are released from your weakness.” He put his hands on her, and right away she stand up straight and “began to glorify God,” because she wor alright in her body again! (Luke 13:10-13) That woman wor having good reason to give honor to Jehovah, and that the same thing with us. w25.01 2-3 ¶3-4
“Forgive our sins.”—Luke 11:4.
On our own, it not possible to get back all the things Adam and Eve lost. (Ps. 49:7-9) If Jehovah wor not coming help us, we wor not coming get any hope to come back to life in the future. In fact, we wor coming die and never live again just like the animal dem. (Eccl. 3:19; 2 Pet. 2:12) Our loving Father Jehovah, na gave us one gift that pay for the sin we get from Adam. That the reason why Jesus say: “God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son.” (John 3:16) Beside that, this gift also make it possible for us to get good friendship with Jehovah. We can benefit from this wonderful gift that make it possible for God to forgive our sins. w25.02 3 ¶3-6
“Then [Saul] got up and they baptize him.”—Acts 9:18.
Wetin help Saul to get baptize? When the Lord Jesus talk to Saul from heaven, the bright light make him blind. (Acts 9:3-9) He fast for three days and think on what just happen to him. Yes, it convince Saul that Jesus wor the Messiah, and he believe that the Christian dem wor in the true religion. We can learn plenty lessons from Saul. It wor possible for him to allow pride or fear of man to stop him from getting baptize. But he not allow it to happen. Saul wor willing to be Christian even though he know that people wor coming persecute him. (Acts 9:15, 16; 20:22, 23) After he get baptize, he continue to depend on Jehovah to help him to bear all his problem dem. (2 Cor. 4:7-10) When you get baptize and be Jehovah Witness, maybe you will face some problem dem that will test your faith. But you will get the help you need. You can be sure that Jehovah God and Jesus Christ will help you.—Phil. 4:13. w25.03 4 ¶8-9
“The way I am running is not aimlessly.”—1 Cor. 9:26.
Reading the Bible that good goal. But if we really want benefit from the Bible we must not only read it. Think on this example here: Rain important for life. But if heavy rain fall in short time, the ground can be too wet. When that one happen, it can’t be good for the plants. Why? Because, the ground need time to suck the water and help the plants to grow. That the same way we must not rush when we reading the Bible, so we can be able to think about what we read and remember them. (Jas. 1:24) Sometime you can rush when you doing your Bible reading? Then wetin you must do? Take your own time. Try your best to think about what you reading or what you just finish reading. You can decide to make your study time long, so you can get time to think on what you read. w24.09 4 ¶7-9
“Be obedient to those who are taking the lead among you.”—Heb. 13:17.
When elders get any direction, they must take their own time to read it and apply it the best way. They can get directions on how to do the meeting parts, how to pray for the congregation, and how to take care of Jesus sheep. Elders who can follow the directions they getting from the organization can help the brothers and sisters to feel that Jehovah love and care for them. When the elders give us direction, we must be willing to follow it. When we do it, it will be easy for the brothers taking the lead to do their work. The Bible encourage us to be obedient and submissive to those who taking the lead. (Heb. 13:7, 17) Sometime, it can’t be easy to do this one. Why? Because the brothers who taking the lead not perfect. So, when we focus on their mistakes instead of their good-good-ways, it will be like we helping our enemies. How? It will make our trust in God organization to get weak. w24.04 10 ¶11-12
“He will separate people from each other.”—Matt. 25:32.
You think all those who will die during the great tribulation, will be destroy forever with no hope to come back to life? The Bible make it clear that all those who go against Jehovah, and those who Jehovah and his army will destroy during Armageddon will not be resurrected. (2 Thess. 1:6-10) But what about other people, for example, who will die during that time because of sickness, old age, accident or somebody kill them? (Eccl. 9:11; Zech. 14:13) You think some of them will be among the “unrighteous” who will come back to life in the new world? (Acts 24:15) We not know. But we know about plenty things that will happen in the future. For example, we know that people will also be judge base on how they treat Jesus brothers. (Matt. 25:40) And those who will show their support for the anointed and for Jesus will be judge as sheep. .—Rev. 12:17. w24.05 10-11 ¶9-11
“Jehovah is alive! Praised be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted.”—Ps. 18:46.
The Bible call the time we living in, “Critical times hard to deal with”. (2 Tim. 3:1) Jehovah people can face the same problem that everybody facing in Satan world. But we can also face persecution because we serving Jehovah. Wetin can help us to continue worshiping Jehovah even though we facing this problem them? One main thing that can help us that because we know that we worshiping “the living God.” (Jer. 10:10; 2 Tim. 1:12) Jehovah that real Person who can see everything we go though and he can always look for ways to help us. (2 Chron. 16:9; Ps. 23:4) When we remember that Jehovah that the living God, it can help us to go through any problem we face. w24.06 20 ¶1-2
“The path of the righteous is like the bright morning light that grows brighter and brighter until full daylight.”—Prov. 4:18.
We must continue to trust Jehovah organization. When it clear that we need to change the way we understand certain Bible truth or something about the way we can serve Jehovah, the Governing Body can’t waste time to make that change. They can do it because the thing that more important to them that, to make Jehovah happy. They can also do their best to base their decisions on the Bible that get the teachings all Jehovah people must live by. The apostle Paul encourage us to: “Keep holding to the standard of wholesome words.” (2 Tim. 1:13) “The standard of wholesome words” that all the Christian teachings in the Bible. (John 17:17) And that this teachings all our beliefs coming from. Jehovah organization na teach us to stick to this teachings. So long we do it, Jehovah will bless us. w24.07 11-12 ¶12-13
“Jehovah . . . is patient with you because he does not desire anyone to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.”—2 Pet. 3:9.
The apostle Peter understand what it mean to repent and forgive, so he wor able to teach other people about it. Some time after the festival of Pentecost, Peter gave one talk. He explain to the Jews who wor not Christians that they na kill the Messiah. So he encourage them and say: “Repent, therefore, and turn around so as to get your sins blotted out, so that seasons of refreshing may come from Jehovah himself.” (Acts 3:14, 15, 17, 19) Peter show that when somebody repent, the person can turn around, change their wrong way of thinking and acting and do things that can make Jehovah happy. The apostle Peter also show that Jehovah can forgive that person sins, or even erase it altogether. Ehn that fine hope here for Christians even when they commit serious sins? w24.08 12 ¶14
“Let your way of life be free of the love of money.”—Heb. 13:5.
If we get strong faith that this world will soon end, we will not like material things business too much. During the great tribulation, people will “throw their silver into the streets” because they will know that “neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them in the day of Jehovah’s fury.” (Ezek. 7:19) Instead of focusing on getting plenty money, we need to make decisions that will help us to live simple life and serve Jehovah. This one also mean that we must not credit things that we not really need, or use plenty of our time to take care of the plenty material thing them we get. We must also be careful to not make our material things to be the most important thing in our life. (Matt. 6:19, 24) While waiting for this wicked world to end, we need to show whether we trust in Jehovah or our material things. w24.09 11 ¶13-14
“Let the one who thinks he is standing beware that he does not fall.”—1 Cor. 10:12.
We able to overcome some of our weaknesses altogether. But we will need to continue fighting against some weaknesses for long time. Let look at the apostle Peter example. Because he was scare of other people, he deny Jesus three time. (Matt. 26:69-75) Later on, it was looking like Peter overcome that weakness because he was brave to preach to the Sanhedrin about Jesus. (Acts 5:27-29) But after some years, “fearing those of the circumcised class,” Peter stop eating with the Gentile Christians for some time. (Gal. 2:11, 12) Peter weakness came back. Maybe Peter not overcome that weakness altogether. Maybe we will find our self in that same situation. But we can overcome certain weakness that giving us hard time, by following the counsel Jesus gave about temptation that say: “Keep on the watch.” (Matt. 26:41) Even when you able to fight the temptation, continue to avoid any situation that will make you to do the wrong thing. (1 Cor. 10:12) Continue doing the thing them that na help you to overcome your weakness. 2 Pet. 3:14. w24.07 18-19 ¶17-19
“He gave gifts in men”.—Eph. 4:8.
No human being na help other people more than Jesus. When he was on earth, he use his power to perform miracles to help other people. (Luke 9:12-17) The best gift he gave us that to die for us. (John 15:13) From the time Jesus came back to life, he continue to help us. Just how he promise, Jesus ask Jehovah to give us his holy spirit to teach us and comfort us. (John 14:16, 17, ftn.; 16:13) Through the congregation meetings, Jesus continue to give us what we need to make disciples all over the world. (Matt. 28:18-20) The apostle Paul say that after Jesus went back to heaven, “he gave gifts in men.” (Eph. 4:7, 8) Paul say that Jesus gave this gifts in men to help the congregation in different-different ways. (Eph. 1:22, 23; 4:11-13) This men them not perfect, so they can make mistakes. (Jas. 3:2) But our Lord Jesus Christ can use them to help us. w24.10 18 ¶1-2
“Discernment will safeguard you.”—Prov. 2:11.
David tell his son Solomon that he wor only coming be successful if he continue to obey Jehovah. But sad to say, when Solomon got old, he started worshiping false gods. Jehovah stop blessing Solomon, and he lost the wisdom to rule God people the right way. (1 Ki. 11:9, 10; 12:4) What the lesson for us? When we obey, we will be successful. (Ps. 1:1-3) That true, Jehovah not promise to make us rich and popular like Solomon. But if we obey our God, he will give us wisdom that will help us to make good decisions. (Prov. 2:6, 7; Jas. 1:5) Jehovah advice can help us to make good decision about work, school, money and what we can do to enjoy our self. When we follow his advice, it will protect our friendship with him and we will get everlasting life. (Prov. 2:10, 11) We will also get good friends. And we will get the advice we need for our family to be happy. w24.11 10-11 ¶11-12
“Make sure of all things; hold fast to what is fine.”—1 Thess. 5:21.
Parents get different-different opportunities to talk with their children about the Bible or about faith in God. You can get this opportunity dem when yor go visit the museum. You can show them some way back thing dem that can make their faith strong in the Bible. Maybe you can tell your children about the Moabite Stone. This stone that 3000 years old and it get Jehovah name on it. They get one to the World Headquarters of Jehovah Witnesses in Warwick, New York. You can find it to the place they call “The Bible and the Divine Name,” but that not the original. The writing on the Moabite Stone show that King Mesha of Moab go against Israel. This one in line with what the Bible say. (2 Ki. 3:4, 5) When your children see for their self that what the Bible say that true, it will make their faith more strong. w24.12 14 ¶4; 15 ¶6
