I will keep on the lookout for Jehovah.—Mic. 7:7.
Most of the time, we can get direction from Jehovah organization that can help us to serve Jehovah. Sometime we can get it from our elder dem, the circuit overseer, the branch office, or the Governing Body. But suppose we not understand the reason why the brother dem give us certain direction? Maybe we will only see how the direction will make things hard for us, or maybe we will start focusing on the mistake of the brother dem who give the direction. When we walking by faith, we will trust that Jehovah guiding his organization and he know what good for us. Because of that, we will be quick to obey, and we will not complain. (Heb. 13:17) We know that when we obey, it can help the congregation to be united. (Eph. 4:2, 3) We also know that the brother dem who taking the lead not perfect. But when we obey, Jehovah will bless us. (1 Sam. 15:22) We also get faith that when the direction need to be change, Jehovah will change it the right time. w25.03 23-24 ¶13-14
“God . . . is a Revealer of secrets.”—Dan. 2:28.
The time we living in very interesting! Every day, we can see Bible prophecy coming true. For example, we see that “the king of the north” and “the king of the south” fighting each other over who will be the world power. (Dan. 11:40, ftn.) We see how the good news of God Kingdom na spread all over the world, and plenty people coming to serve Jehovah. (Isa. 60:22; Matt. 24:14) And we getting plenty spiritual food “at the proper time.” (Matt. 24:45-47) Jehovah continue to help us get clear understanding about the important things that will happen in the future. (Prov. 4:18) We can be sure that before the great tribulation start, we will know all we need to know so we can remain faithful and united during that difficult time. But, we must also remember that we not know everything about the future. w24.05 8 ¶1-2
“He does not slander with his tongue.”—Ps. 15:3.
Slander among the thing them the psalmist talk about. What it mean to slander? It mean to say things that not true about somebody that can spoil their name. Psalm 15:3 also remind us that Jehovah guests can’t do bad to their neighbors and they can’t spoil their friend them name. (Ps. 15:1) How we can spoil our friend them name? Sometime we can’t mean it, but we can spread information about our friend them that can spoil their name. For example: (1) one sister stop her full-time service, (2) one marry couple not serving to Bethel again, or (3) one brother not elder or ministerial servant again. You think it will be good to start looking for reasons why the person situation change and start telling other people about it? Maybe their situation change for plenty reasons that we not know about. So, somebody who guest in Jehovah tent “does nothing bad to his neighbor, and he does not defame his friends.” w24.06 11 ¶11-13
“I keep Jehovah before me constantly. Because he is at my right hand, I will never be shaken.”—Ps. 16:8.
To make our fear for Jehovah more strong, we need to focus on what will make him happy anytime we make decision. When you reading Bible story, ask yourself, ‘If I was in that situation, what decision I was coming to make?’ For example, imagine yourself listening to the ten spies, after they come from spying the land that Jehovah promise to give to the Israelites and they tell the Israelites that they will not be able to conquer the Canaanites. You were coming believe the thing the ten spies say and be scary? Or your love for Jehovah and your desire to make him happy was coming be more strong? One whole generation of Israelites not believe Joshua and Caleb. Because of that Jehovah not allow them to enter the Promise Land.—Num. 14:10, 22, 23. w24.07 10 ¶7
“Jehovah is the examiner of hearts.”—Prov. 17:3.
Hosea wife Gomer, leave him and start loving to different-different men dem. You think it wor not possible for her to change? Jehovah, who know people heart, tell Hosea say: “Go once again, love the woman who is loved by another man and is committing adultery, just as Jehovah loves the people of Israel while they turn to other gods.” (Hos. 3:1; Prov. 16:2) Notice that Hosea wife wor still committing serious sin. But Jehovah tell Hosea to go back for her and forgive her. That the same way, Jehovah not give up on his hard head people. Even though they wor doing all kindna bad-bad things, he still love them and continue to help them to repent and change their ways. This one mean that Jehovah who know our hearts, will still help somebody who committing serious sin to repent. w24.08 10 ¶
“The Law has a shadow of the good things to come.”—Heb.10:1.
The Christians way back who were Jews face one big problem. Way back, the Jews use to be the people who Jehovah choose. Jerusalem was the place the king them use to rule from. They were representing Jehovah, and the temple was the main place for pure worship. All faithful Jews use to follow the Mosaic Law that their religious leaders use to teach them. They were having law about food, circumcision, and how to treat people who were not Jews. But after Jesus die, Jehovah was not accepting the sacrifices the Jews use to make. It was not easy for the Jewish Christians because they were use to following the Law. (Heb. 10:1, 4, 10) Even mature Christians, like the apostle Peter, was finding it hard to get use to this changes. (Acts 10:9-14; Gal. 2:11-14) And because of their new beliefs, the Jewish religious leaders use to persecute them. w24.09 9 ¶4
“Remember those who are taking the lead among you, who have spoken the word of God to you.”.—Heb. 13:7.
Anytime Jehovah give his people work to do, he expect them to do it in the way that will be organize. (1 Cor. 14:33) For example, God want for the good news to be preach all over the earth. (Matt. 24:14) So he put Jesus in charge of the work. Jesus na make sure that his people do this work in the way that it will be organize. In the first century, when they form the congregation in different-different places, they appointed elders to take the lead and direct the work. (Acts 14:23) The apostles and some experience elders in Jerusalem who make up the governing body, use to make certain decisions that all the congregations suppose to follow. (Acts 15:2; 16:4) Because the brothers and sisters obey the directions they got, “the congregations continued to be made firm in the faith and to increase in number.”—Acts 16:5. w24.04 8 ¶1
Mary Magdalene went to the disciple dem and give them the news. She say: “I na see the Lord!”—John 20:18.
Soon in the morning on Nisan 16, some faithful women them went to the place where they bury Jesus. (Luke 24:1, 10) One of them that was Mary Magdalene. Let talk about her small. When Mary reach to the tomb, it was empty. She run quick-quick to tell Peter and John. The three of them started running back to the tomb. When they get to know that the tomb was empty, the men them go back home. But Mary not go. She stay there and started crying. She not even know that Jesus was looking at her. When he saw this faithful woman crying, he wanted to comfort her. So he appear to Mary and do something that encourage her. He talk with her and tell her to go tell his brothers that he na come back to life.—John 20:17, 18. w24.10 13 ¶7
“I will multiply my signs and my miracles in the land of Egypt.”—Ex. 7:3.
Moses wor prophet, judge, commander, and writer. He free the Israelite dem from slavery in Egypt and he saw plenty of the miracles that Jehovah perform. Jehovah use him to write the first five books of the Bible. He also write Psalm 90, and maybe Psalm 91. Maybe he also write the book of Job. Just before Moses die, when he was 120 years old, he call all the Israelite dem together and remind them about the things they na see and pass through. They saw the plenty miracles that Jehovah perform and the thing dem He do to Egypt when they wor young. (Ex. 7:4) When Jehovah open the Red Sea, they walk through it and they saw how Jehovah destroy Pharaoh army. (Ex. 14:29-31) When they wor in the wilderness, they saw how Jehovah protect them and take care of them. (Deut. 8:3, 4) When they wor about to enter the Promise Land, Moses use that last opportunity to encourage the people. w24.11 8-9 ¶3-4
“If anybody eat this bread he will live forever . . . The bread that my flesh that I will give for people on earth so that they can get life.”—John 6:51.
The thing that Jesus say during the Lord Evening Meal, different from the thing he tell the group of people in Galilee. In 32 C.E. when Jesus wor in Galilee, he wor mainly talking to the Jews who wor just concern about food business. He wor helping them to see that something wor more important than food. He tell them what can give them everlasting life. And Jesus even say that people who na die will come back to life and live forever. He wor not just talking to small group of people, like what he do during the Lord Evening Meal. But in Galilee he wor focusing on the blessing that everybody wor coming get. w24.12 11 ¶10-11
“Husbands, keep on loving your wives.”—Col. 3:19.
Jehovah hate violent people. (Ps. 11:5) He hate any man who can beat their wife. (Mal. 2:16) If any husband treat his wife bad, it can spoil his friendship with God. It can even make Jehovah to not listen to his prayers. (1 Pet. 3:7) Some husbands can talk to their wife bad way. Jehovah hate “anger, wrath, screaming, and abusive speech.” (Eph.4:31, 32) The husband who can talk to his wife harsh way, can spoil his marriage and his friendship with God. (Jas. 1:26) How Jehovah feel about looking at naked man and naked woman picture or video? He hate it. So any husband who can look at this kindna thing dem, can spoil their friendship with Jehovah and make their wife shame. Jehovah expect the husband to stick to his wife. He must not play around other women or even think about it. Jesus say that any man who look at another woman and think about laying down with her, na already commit adultery “in his heart.”—Matt. 5:28, 29. w25.01 9 ¶6-8
“A man is declared righteous . . . only through faith in Jesus Christ.”—Gal. 2:16.
To be declare righteous mean that Jehovah na forgive our sin, and we clean in his eye. This one not mean that Jehovah na go against his own thing he say about what right and what wrong. But Jehovah willing to forgive our sins for good because we put faith in what He and Jesus na do to provide the ransom. (Rom. 3:24) How we benefit from it? The people who will rule with Jesus in heaven, God na already call them his righteous children. (Titus 3:7; 1 John 3:1) He na forgive their sins. It looking just like they never commit any sin, and they qualify to be in the Kingdom. (Rom. 8:1, 2, 30) Those who get the hope to live on earth forever, God also call them righteous and he na forgive their sins.—Jas. 2:21-23. w25.02 5 ¶17; 6 ¶18
You not thinking like God but you thinking like human being.—Matt. 16:23.
One time, the apostle Peter not think like Jehovah. Jesus just finish telling his apostle dem that he will go to Jerusalem, they will catch him and turn him over to the religious leader dem. They will suffer him, beat him and kill him. (Matt. 16:21) It wor hard for Peter to understand why Jehovah will allow Jesus, the promise Messiah and the hope for Israel to die. (Matt. 16:16) So Peter carry Jesus on the side and say: “Lord, don’t say this kindna thing dem about yourself. This thing dem will not happen to you at all.” (Matt. 16:22) Because Peter wor not thinking like Jehovah, Jesus not agree with him. Jesus knew that to do Jehovah will, he wor coming suffer and die. So Jesus refuse to take Peter advice, even though Peter wor thinking that he wor helping Jesus. This one help Peter to learn to think the way Jehovah can think, and that good lesson here for us. w25.03 9 ¶5-6
“Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; he saves those who are crushed in spirit.”—Ps. 34:18.
You feeling bad because somebody who you trust let you down? No matter how somebody treat you, your Father in heaven love you. When somebody let us down, we can get comfort from what David say in the scripture for today. One document say that, those “crushed in spirit” can also mean ‘people who feel that they not get any hope again.’ How Jehovah can help those who can feel like that because somebody let them down? Just how loving parent can hold their child hand and comfort them when they feeling pain, that the same way Jehovah can be close to us. He can feel for us and he always ready to help us if we feeling too bad because somebody let us down or somebody die from us. He can be quick to comfort us and make our heart to lay down when we feeling pain. And he na tell us plenty thing dem that he will do in the future that can help us to bear our problem now-now.—Isa. 65:17. w24.12 23 ¶13-14
“From Jehovah you will receive the . . . reward.”—Col. 3:24.
Today, elders can be sure that Jehovah can see and value their fine work. Beside shepherding, teaching, and preaching, plenty elders can support construction projects and help when disaster happen. Some other elders can work with the Patient Visitation Groups or Hospital Liaison Committees. Elder them who can do this work know that the congregation for Jehovah. They can do their assignment with their whole heart and put their whole trust in God that he will bless them for what they can do. (Col. 3:23, 24) Not everybody can be elder. But all of us can still give something to Jehovah. Our God can be happy when we do our best to serve him. He can see any contribution we make, even if it small. And he can be happy when we forgive other people who make us feel bad. Trust that he value anything you able to do for him. He love you for it, and he will bless you.—Luke 21:1-4. w24.06 23 ¶12-13
“Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways. Do not stray onto her paths.”—Prov. 7:25.
The thing Solomon say about this young man just show what can happen to anybody who worshipping Jehovah. Maybe the person will commit serious sin and later on think that everything just happen quick-quick. Or maybe he will say, “I was not expecting it.” But if he think about what really happen, maybe he will see that he made some bad decisions that make him to commit that serious sin. Maybe he made friend with people who not love Jehovah. Or maybe some of the entertainment he choose, the website he use to go on, or the place them he use to go was not good for Christian. And maybe he also stop praying, reading the Bible, going to meetings or field service. That the same way the young man in Proverbs commit serious sin because he made bad decisions. What the lesson for us? We must not only avoid sin, but we must also avoid anything that will make us to sin. Solomon make that point clear after he talk the story.—Matt. 5:29, 30. w24.07 16 ¶10-11
“We have this treasure in earthen vessels.”—2 Cor. 4:7.
Wetin Paul mean by this treasure? That the preaching work that can save people life. (2 Cor. 4:1) Who the earthen vessels? That God servants who can preach the good news to other people. During Paul day, people use to use clay pot to carry important goods like, food, wine, and money. That the same way Jehovah using us to preach the good news. With Jehovah help, we can get the strength we need to preach the good news. Sometime, we can be scary to preach to people. What can help us to not be scary? Think about the prayer the apostles made when the people told them to stop preaching. Instead of being scary, they ask Jehovah to help them to keep speaking with boldness. Right away, Jehovah answer their prayer. (Acts 4:18, 29, 31) If you can be scary to preach to people sometime, ask Jehovah to help you get strong love for people so you can’t be scare to preach to them. w24.04 16 ¶8-9
“Our Father in heaven, let your name be holy.”—Matt. 6:9.
Our love for Jehovah can move us to make his name holy. We can make Jehovah name holy by helping people to know that all the things Satan say about Jehovah, that so-so lies. (Gen. 3:1-5; Job 2:4; John 8:44) When we preaching, we can be happy to tell people who want listen to us the truth about Jehovah and the kind na person he is. We want everyone to know that his main quality that love, and his way of ruling righteous and fair. And his Kingdom will soon end all the suffering and bring peace and happiness to everybody. (Ps. 37:10, 11, 29; 1 John 4:8) When we tell people this thing them about Jehovah, we making his name holy. And we happy because we know what we doing, show that we Jehovah Witnesses. w24.05 18 ¶12
“When you having party, you must invite the poor people, the cripple people, and the blind people, and you will be happy, because they not get anything to pay you back. And God will bless you when he bringing the righteous people back to life.”—Luke 14:13, 14.
Brothers, you can show that you “hospitable” when you do good things for other people, even people who you not close to. (1 Pet. 4:9) One Bible dictionary say: “Man who hospitable can be kind to people who he not know and even invite them to his house.” So ask yourself, ‘People know me to be somebody who can welcome strangers?’ (Heb. 13:2, 16) The man who hospitable can share what he get with visitors, like circuit overseers, visiting speakers and those who not get the hand.—Gen. 18:2-8; Prov. 3:27; Acts 16:15; Rom. 12:13. w24.11 21 ¶6
“The virgins that wor ready follow him in the house to the wedding party.”—Matt. 25:10.
In the parable about the virgins, Jesus talk about ten virgins who went to meet the bridegroom. (Matt. 25:1-4) All of them were hoping to be there with the bridegroom for his wedding program. Jesus say five of them was “discreet” or having sense and the other five was “foolish.” The virgins who were having sense was prepare to wait for him, even if the bridegroom was going to come way in the night. So, they brought oil lamps with them to use it in the darkness. They even brought extra oil in case the bridegroom not come soon. So they were prepare for their lamps to continue burning. (Matt. 25:6-10) When the bridegroom reach, the virgins who were having sense went inside with him for the wedding program. That the same way it will be for anointed Christians when they remain faithful and keep on the watch until Jesus Christ come. They will be qualify to join the bridegroom Jesus in his Kingdom in heaven.—Rev. 7:1-3. w24.09 21 ¶6
I saw . . . a great crowd . . . out of all nations.—Rev. 7:9.
When we think on how the preaching work helping plenty people around the world, it can encourage us to continue preaching with zeal. Every year, plenty interested people can attend the Memorial and we can study the Bible with them. Plenty people can get baptize and join us in the preaching work. We not know the amount of people that will still accept the good news. But all we know, Jehovah putting the great crowd together that will survive the great tribulation. (Rev. 7:9, 14) The Master for the harvest continue to see that plenty people can still accept the good news, so we get good reason to continue preaching. (Luke 10:2) People always know Jesus disciple dem to be people who get zeal for preaching. When people see the way the apostle dem use to talk, “they began to realize that they had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13) That the same way when people see us in the field service, they must see that we get zeal just like Jesus. w25.03 18 ¶15; 19 ¶17-18
O Jehovah, what is man that you should notice him?—Ps. 144:3.
We learn from the Bible that Jehovah can even see those who other people not take to be important. For example, Jehovah sent the prophet Samuel to Jesse house to anoint one of his sons to be the future king for Israel. Jesse was having eight sons. He only call seven to meet Samuel but he not call David, their small brother. But that David Jehovah choose. (1 Sam. 16:6, 7, 10-12) Jehovah saw what was in David heart and he knew that David really love him. Just think about how Jehovah na already show that he get interest in you. He willing to give you advice that can help you. (Ps. 32:8) He able to do it because he know you good-good. (Ps. 139:1) When you apply Jehovah advice and see how it helping you, it will convince you that Jehovah get interest in you. (1 Chron. 28:9; Acts 17:26, 27) Jehovah can see the effort you making to serve him. He can also see your good-good ways and he willing to help you. .—Jer. 17:10. w24.10 25-26 ¶7-9
“He started feeling sorry for them, because they wor just like sheep that not get any shepherd.”—Mark 6:34.
We sure you love Jehovah and you want serve other people. How you can get strong desire to serve other people? Think about the happiness that can come when you work for your brothers and sisters. Jesus say: “There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.” (Acts 20:35) He live by what he say. He wor really happy because he work for other people. Let talk about one example that in Mark 6:31-34. During this time, he and his apostles wor really tire. So, they wor going to one quiet place to rest. But the group of people reach there before them, because they wanted for Jesus to teach them. Jesus wor having the right to say no because he and disciples wor not even having time to eat and rest. Or maybe Jesus wor coming tell them to go after he finish teaching them small thing from the Bible. But because he wor having love for them, he started teaching them.”—Mark 6:35. w24.11 16 ¶9-10
“Your activity will be rewarded.”—2 Chron. 15:7.
Parents, yor encourage your children to look for ways to talk with people from the Bible. (Rom. 10:10) You can compare talking with other people from the Bible to small child learning how to walk. First, he will learn how to stand up. After some time, he will start walking small-small. That the same way when young Christian talking with somebody for the first time, they can start doing it small-small. For example, maybe he can ask his schoolmate: “You know that the big-big book people can look at creation before they make different-different thing dem? Let me show you one fine video.” After he finish showing the video, Was It Designed?, maybe your child can say: “If the big-big book people can get the credit for thing dem they fix, then what about the person who made the original one that they can look at before they fix their own?” The simple way your child will explain it will make the person to want learn more. w24.12 19 ¶17-18
“Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin.”—Rom. 5:12.
So to free us from sin and death, Jehovah send Jesus to die for us. But how one perfect man sacrifice wor able to free plenty people? The apostle Paul say: “Just as through the disobedience of the one man [Adam] many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one person [Jesus] many will be made righteous.” (Rom. 5:19; 1 Tim. 2:6) In other words, that one perfect man who disobey made us to be slave to sin and death. So, that one perfect man who obey free us. Why Jehovah not just allow Adam children to live forever? Maybe we will think that the best way to solve this problem. But for Jehovah, it wor not the right thing to do. Because Jehovah fair, he will never close his eye to the bad things that Adam do. w25.01 21 ¶3-4
“We are walking by faith, not by sight.”— 2 Cor. 5:7.
Certain time in Paul life he knew they wor coming kill him. But when he think about the way he live his life, it made him happy. So he wor able to say: “I have run the race to the finish, I have observed the faith.” (2 Tim. 4:6-8) Paul made good decisions to use his life to serve Jehovah, and he wor sure that Jehovah wor happy with him. We ourself too want make good decisions that will make God happy with us. How we can do it? Paul say something about hisself and other faithful Christian dem. He say: “We are walking by faith, not by sight.” When somebody walk by faith, he can make decisions that show that he trust Jehovah God. The thing dem he can do can show that he convince that God will bless him, and he will benefit by following Jehovah advice in the Bible.—Ps. 119:66; Heb. 11:6. w25.03 20 ¶1-2
“Be transformed by making your mind over.”—Rom. 12:2.
With the help of God spirit, plenty people who use to be having bad-bad ways na make some big changes in their life. (Isa. 65:25) They na work hard to leave their bad ways. (Eph. 4:22-24) That true, God people not perfect, so we will continue to make mistakes. Jehovah na bring “different-different people” together who love him and in peace with one another. (Titus 2:11) That only the almighty God can perform this miracle! Anything Jehovah say can always come true. (Isa. 55:10, 11) We in the spiritual paradise now-now. Jehovah na put his people together like one family to worship him. His people enjoying peace and they can feel safe in this wicked world. (Ps. 72:7) Because of that, we want help plenty people to join us in our Christian brotherhood. We can do it by focusing on helping people to come serve Jehovah.—Matt. 28:19, 20. w24.04 23 ¶13, 15
We do have the mind of Christ.—1 Cor. 2:16.
Jesus love Jehovah with his whole mind. He knew what God wanted him to do and he wor willing to do it, even though he wor going to suffer for doing it. Jesus focus on the thing his Pa tell him to do, so he not allow anything to stop him from doing the right thing. Peter and the other apostle dem wor having the opportunity to spend time with Jesus, so they learn how he can think. When Peter write his first letter, he encourage the Christian dem to arm theirself with the same mental disposition like Jesus Christ. That mean they must think the same way Jesus can think. (1 Pet. 4:1) Peter use one word the soldier people can use. He say: “Arm yourself.” So if Christians learn to think like Jesus, they will be able to fight against Satan world and any wrong desire.—2 Cor. 10:3-5; Eph. 6:12. w25.03 8-9 ¶1-3
The thoughts of a man’s heart are like deep waters, but the discerning man draws them out.”—Prov. 20:5.
What you must know about the other person when yor dating? Before you start liking the person too much, it will be good for yor to talk about some important things like, the person goals in life. How you can really get to know the other person good-good? One of the best ways that to be honest and talk with each other from the heart, to ask questions and listen good-good. (Jas. 1:19) To do it, maybe yor can choose to do things together that will make it easy for yor to talk. Like eating together, walking together in public areas, and preaching together. Yor can also get to know each other when yor spend time with friends and family. Beside that one, plan some activities that will help you know how the other person can behave under different-different conditions, and with different-different people. w24.05 27-28 ¶6-7
“Become imitators of God, as beloved children.”—Eph. 5:1
In the future, we will face some serious problems and we will need to rely on Jehovah more than ever before. Faithful people in the Bible and in our time will help us to see how Jehovah na help his servant them. Think good-good on their examples. When you do it, it will help you to make Jehovah your Rock. It will also help you to make the congregation strong. For example, Jesus gave Simon the name Cephas (they translate it as “Peter”), that mean “A Piece of Rock.” (John 1:42) Jesus was saying that Peter will comfort other people in the congregation and make their faith strong. The Bible compare the elder them to “the shadow of a massive crag.” This example show that they can protect the people in the congregation. (Isa. 32:2) But the congregation can benefit if all of us imitate Jehovah qualities that make him like rock. w24.06 28 ¶10-11
“Jehovah . . . requires exclusive devotion.”—Deut. 4:24.
The Israelites king them who Jehovah say were faithful, worship him the right way. Most of the king them who Jehovah say were not faithful stop obeying God Law and started worshipping false gods. (1 Ki 21:25, 26; 2 Chron. 12:1) Why worshipping Jehovah really important to him? One reason that because the king them were responsible to help Jehovah people to worship him the right way. When people worship false gods, it can make them to commit serious sins. It can even make them to treat other people bad. (Hos. 4:1, 2) Beside this one, the kings and the people they ruling over were dedicated to Jehovah. So when they worship false gods, the Bible compare it to marry person laying down with another person. (Jer. 3:8, 9) When somebody who marry lay down with another person, it can make their partner to really feel bad. That the same way, Jehovah can really feel bad if somebody who gave their life to Him not remain faithful.—Deut. 4:23. w24.07 22-23 ¶12-15
