The Thing Dem Da John Write 1:1-51
1 In the beginning the Word wor there, and the Word wor with God, and the Word wor like God.
2 He wor with God from the beginning.
3 God use him to make everything, and God not make anything without using him.
The thing da God use him to make
4 wor life, and life da the light for people.
5 And the light shining in the darkness, but the darkness not able to stop the light from shining.
6 God send one man who name wor John.
7 This man came to tell* people about the light, so da everybody can believe because of what he say.
8 He wor not da light, but he came to tell people about da light.
9 The real light da can shine on all kindna people wor about to come in the world.
10 He wor in the world, and God use him to make all the thing dem in the world, but the people in the world never knew him.
11 He came to his own people dem, but they not welcome him.
12 But he give the people dem who welcome him the right to be God children, because they wor showing faith in his name.
13 Da not human being born them and their ma and pa not plan to born them, but they wor born as God children.
14 So the Word wor born as human being* and he stay with us. And we saw his glory, the kindna glory the pa can give to his only son,* and God wor happy with him and he always teach the truth.
15 (John tell people about him, yes, he shout with loud voice and say: “Da the person I wor talking about when I say, ‘The one who coming behind me great more than me because he live before me.’”)
16 And because God special kindness wor with him, we ourself benefit from da special kindness.
17 Because da Moses God use to give us the Law, but da Jesus Christ he use to give us da special kindness and truth.
18 No human being na see God before, but the only son who like God and who near his Father, da he na tell us about God.
19 John give this answer when the Jews send priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him: “You who?”
20 Then right away he answer and say: “I not the Christ.”
21 And they ask him: “Then, you who? You E·li′jah?” He tell them say: “No.” “You Prophet?” And he say: “No!”
22 So they ask him: “You who now? Tell us so we can go tell the people dem who send us. What you say about yourself?”
23 He say: “Da I the one talking loud in the wilderness, ‘Make the road for Jehovah* straight,’ just how the prophet Isaiah say.”
24 Da the Pharisee dem send the priests and the Levites to ask him.
25 So they ask him: “If you not the Christ or E·li′jah or the Prophet, then why you baptizing people?”
26 John tell them say: “I can baptize people in water, but somebody among yor who yor not know.
27 Da person coming behind me, and I not even fit to loosen the rope da on his sandal.”
28 This thing dem happen in Beth′a·ny across the Jordan River, the place John wor baptizing people.
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming, and he say: “See, God Young Sheep who will take sin from in the world!
30 Da the person who I wor talking about when I say: ‘The man who coming behind me great more than me, because he live before me.’
31 Even I myself never knew him, but the reason why I came to baptize people in water da for people in Israel to know him.”
32 John also say this one to show da the thing he say da true. He say: “I saw the spirit coming down just like dove* from heaven, and it sit down on him and remain on him.
33 Even myself never knew him, but the person who send me to baptize people in water tell me say: ‘Anybody who you see the spirit come on and stay on them, da the person who will baptize people with holy spirit.’
34 I na see it, and I na give prove da this one da God Son.”
35 The next day, John wor standing to the same place again and two of his disciple dem wor with him.
36 When he saw Jesus passing, he say: “See, God Young Sheep!”
37 When his two disciples hear what he say, they follow Jesus.
38 Then Jesus turn around, and saw them following him. Then he ask them: “What yor looking for?” They tell him say: “Rabbi (when you translate it, it mean, “Teacher”), where place you staying?”
39 He tell them say: “Yor come see.” So they follow him and saw the place where he wor staying, and they stay with him da day. It wor around four o’clock in the afternoon.
40 One of the two disciples da hear the thing John say and follow Jesus, da wor Andrew, Simon Peter brother.
41 First, he find his own brother Simon and tell him say: “We na find the Mes·si′ah” (when you translate it, it mean, “Christ”),
42 and he carry Simon to Jesus. When Jesus saw him, he say: “You Simon, John son. They will call you Ce′phas” (when you translate it, it mean, “Peter”).
43 The next day, Jesus wanted to go to Gal′i·lee. Then he find Philip and tell him say: “Be my disciple.”
44 Philip wor from Beth·sa′i·da, the place Andrew and Peter came from.
45 Philip find Na·than′a·el and tell him say: “We na find the person who Moses write about in the Law, and who the Prophet dem write about: Jesus, Joseph son, who from Naz′a·reth.”
46 But Na·than′a·el tell him say: “Anything good can come from Naz′a·reth?” Then Philip tell him say: “Come see for yourself.”
47 When Jesus saw Na·than′a·el coming to him he say: “See real Israelite who can’t pretend at all.”
48 Na·than′a·el ask him: “How you know me?” Jesus tell him say: “Before Philip call you, the time you wor still under the fig tree, I saw you.”
49 Na·than′a·el say: “Rabbi, you God Son, you the King for Israel.”
50 Jesus tell him say: “You believe me because I tell you da I saw you under the fig tree? You will see thing dem da wonderful more than this one.”
51 Then Jesus say: “To tell yor the truth, yor will see the heaven open and God angel dem will be going up and coming down to the Son of man.”
