Acts (The Things the Apostle Dem Do) 13:1-52
13 They wor having prophets and teacher dem in the congregation dem da wor in Antioch. They wor: Barʹna·bas, Symʹe·on who they can call Niʹger, Lucius from Cy·reʹne, Manʹa·en who went to school with Herod the district ruler, and Saul.
2 When they wor doing Jehovah* work and fasting, the holy spirit tell them say: “Choose Barʹna·bas and Saul for the work I call them to do.”
3 Then when they finish fasting and praying, they put their hands on them and tell them to go.
4 So God use his holy spirit to send this men dem, and they went down to Se·leuʹcia, and from there they use ship to go to Cyʹprus.
5 When they reach to Salʹa·mis, they started preaching God Word in the Jews synagogues. And John wor also helping them.
6 When they finish going all over the island, they reach to Paʹphos. They saw one man who wor Jew, his name wor Bar-Jeʹsus. He wor false prophet and he use to play magic.
7 He wor with the governor* they call Sergius Paulus who wor really having sense. Sergius Paulus call Barʹna·bas and Saul because he really wanted to hear God Word.
8 But Elʹy·mas* the man who can play magic (da how they use to translate his name) started going against them. He wor trying to make the governor to not believe God Word.
9 Then the holy spirit came on Saul who they can also call Paul. And Paul look straight in his face
10 and tell him say: “You who full of all kindna lie-lie and wicked thing dem, you Devil son, you enemy for everything da good in God eye. You will not stop twisting the right thing da Jehovah* say?
11 See! Jehovah* will punish you by making you blind. You will not see the sunlight for some time.” And right away something like thick smoke make it hard for him to see, and his whole eye got dark and he started walking around trying to find somebody who will hold his hand and carry him.
12 Then when the governor saw what happen, he believe God Word because he wor really surprise about the thing dem they wor teaching about Jehovah.*
13 Paul and his friend dem got in the boat and left from Paʹphos and they reach to Perga da in Pam·phylʹi·a. But John left them there and went back to Jerusalem.
14 But they left from Perga and went to Antioch da in Pi·sidʹi·a. And when they enter the synagogue on the Sabbath day, they sit down.
15 When some people dem finish reading the Law and the thing the Prophet dem say, the leaders for the synagogue send message to them. They say: “My brothers, if yor get anything to say to encourage the people, yor come say it.”
16 So Paul stand up and throw sign with his hand for them to stop talking, then he say:
“My people from Israel, and other people who get deep respect* for God, yor listen to me.
17 The God for the Israelite dem choose our great grandpa dem when they wor foreigner in Egypt. He help them and use his great power to take them from there.
18 And he wor patient with them for 40 years in the wilderness.
19 After he destroy seven nation dem in Caʹnaan, he give the land to our great grandpa dem to be their property.
20 All this one happen in about 450 years.
“After this one, he give them different-different people to judge them until the prophet Samuel time.
21 But later on, they say they want king, and God give them Saul, Kish son, to be their king. Saul wor from Benjamin tribe, and he rule for 40 years.
22 After God move Saul, he choose David to be their king, and da David he talk about when he say: ‘I na find David, Jesʹse son, who my heart agree with, he will do all the thing dem I want him to do.’
23 Just how God promise, he na make Jesus who from David family line to save Israel.
24 Before Jesus came, John preach to everybody in Israel to get baptize so da they can show da they na repent.
25 But when John wor finishing his work, he use to say: ‘Yor think I who? I not the person yor waiting for. But see! The person who will come after me, I not even fit to loosen the rope da on his sandals.’
26 “My brother dem, yor who coming from Abraham family line and other people among yor who get deep respect* for God, God na send us message about how he will save us.
27 The people dem living in Jerusalem and their ruler dem not accept him. But when they wor judging him, they make the things the prophet dem say to come to pass. Da this thing dem they can read on every sabbath day.
28 Even though they wor not having any reason to kill him, but still they tell Pilate to kill him.
29 And when they finish doing all the thing dem the scripture say about him, they take his body down from the stake* and they put him in the grave.
30 But God bring him back to life,
31 And for plenty days he appear to the disciple dem who follow him from Galʹi·lee up to Jerusalem. And da they the one telling the people about him.
32 “So da the good news about the promise God make to our great grandpa dem da we preaching to yor.
33 The thing God promise them da what he na do for us, we who their children dem, by bringing Jesus back to life, just how they write it in Psalm number two: ‘You my son, today I your pa.’
34 God bring him back to life and the body he get now-now will never die or get rotten. God show da this one da true when he say: ‘I will continue to show you the true love da I promise to David.’
35 One other psalm also say: ‘You will not allow my body to get rotten because I loyal to you.’
36 But for David, he serve God throughout his life, then he die. They bury him with our great grandpa dem, and his body got rotten.
37 But for the person who God bring back to life, his body not get rotten.
38 “My brother dem, I preaching to yor da through this man God will forgive yor sins.
39 Moses Law wor not able to make yor to be righteous people. But because this man die, God will call everybody who believe in him righteous people.
40 So yor be careful da the thing dem the prophet dem write can’t happen to yor:
41 ‘Yor who not get respect for God work, see, I doing work in yor time. This work I na do, yor will never believe it even if somebody explain everything to yor. But yor will really be surprise and yor will die.’”
42 When they wor leaving from there, the people started begging them so da they can talk about this thing dem on the next Sabbath day.
43 So when everybody left from the synagogue, plenty Jews and people who join the Jews religion to worship God follow Paul and Barʹna·bas. Paul and Barʹna·bas talk to them, and tell them to continue doing the thing dem da will make them to benefit from God love.
44 On the next Sabbath day, almost everybody in the city came together to listen to Jehovah* Word.
45 When the Jews saw the plenty people, they got jealous bad way. Then they say Paul wor lying and they started talking bad about the thing dem he wor saying.
46 Then Paul and Barʹna·bas wor brave and tell them say: “It wor important for us to preach God Word to yor first. But since yor not want listen to it and yor not see yourself to be fit to get everlasting life, see! we going to people from different nation dem.
47 Jehovah* na give us this command. He say: ‘I na choose yor to be the light for the nation dem, so da I can use yor to save people from all over the earth.’”
48 When the people dem from the nations hear this one, they wor really happy and they started praising Jehovah* Word, and all those who wor having good heart and wanted to live forever accept the good news.
49 Also, Jehovah* Word continue to spread all over da area.
50 But the Jews make the women dem who wor get fear for God and who other people use to respect, to treat Paul and Barʹna·bas bad and throw them out of the area. They also make the big-big men dem in the city to do the same thing.
51 So Paul and Barʹna·bas knock the dust from on their foot as sign to warn them, and they move from there and they went to I·coʹni·um.
52 And the disciple dem continue to be really happy and the holy spirit wor on them.
