Wat Matthew Wen Write 2:1-23
2 Jesus wuz born in Bethʹle·hem, one small town Ju·deʹa side, wen Herod* wuz da king. Den afta dat, guys dat look da stars fo tell da future wen come from da East fo go Jerusalem town.
2 Dey ask: “Wea da boy dat wuz born dat goin be king fo da Jews? Cuz wen we wuz east side we seen one star dat bring us ova hea, an we come fo show him respeck.”
3 Had bodda King Herod plenny wen he hea dat, an da peopo in Jerusalem wen worry too.
4 He wen get togedda all da main pries guys an da scribes,* fo ask dem wea da Christ wuz goin be born.
5 Dey tell him: “He goin be born in Bethʹle·hem, Ju·deʹa side, cuz dis wat da prophet* wen write:
6 “Eh! Bethʹle·hem, Ju·deʹa side, da leadas of Judah tink you not one importan town. But get one leada dat goin come from you dat goin rule ova my Israel peopo.””
7 Den Herod had one secret meeting wit da guys dat look da stars an wen find out wen dey had firs see da star.
8 Den he tell dem: “Go Bethʹle·hem, look aroun an find out az much az can about da small boy. Wen you find um, come back an tell me so I can go ova dea an show um respeck too.”
9 Afta da king tell um dis, dey wen go, an Ho! Da same star dey seen wen dey wuz east side wuz showing dem wea fo go. So dey follow um til had stop ova da place wea da boy wuz.
10 Wen dey had see da star stop, dey wuz supa happy.
11 So dey go inside da house an see da boy wit his maddah Mary. Dey go down on dea knees fo show him respeck. An dey buss out treshas dey had an give him gifs, stuffs dat smell real good,* an gold.
12 But cuz God wen warn dem in one dream fo no go back by King Herod, dey wen go back dea country one diffren way.
13 Afta dose guys leave, one angel from Jehovah* come to Joseph in one dream an tell um: “Get up! Grab da boy an his maddah an go run away to Egypt. Stay ova dea til I tell you fo come back, cuz Herod goin look fo da boy fo kill him.”
14 So dat night, Joseph had get up an take da boy an Mary to Egypt.
15 Dey wen stay dea til Herod mahke. Dis happen jus like Jehovah had tell thru his prophet: “I goin tell my boy fo come outa Egypt.”
16 Den Herod get all nutz wen he find out da guys dat look da stars wen fool um. So he sen his guys Bethʹle·hem an all da places aroun dea fo kill all da boys two years old an younga. He wen figga out da boy’s age cuz of wat da guys dat look da stars wen tell him.
17 Dis wen happen jus like God had tell thru da prophet Jeremiah:
18 “Dey could hea somebody crying real hahd in Raʹmah town, wuz Rachel* crying fo her kids. She no like nobody come by her fo make her feel betta, cuz her kids no stay anymoa.”
19 Afta Herod wen mahke, try look! One angel from Jehovah wen show up to Joseph in one dream wen he wuz in Egypt
20 an tell: “Get up, go take da boy an his maddah an go back Israel, cuz da guys dat wanted fo kill da boy had mahke awready.”
21 So he take da boy an his maddah an go back Israel.
22 But wen Joseph had hea dat Ar·che·laʹus wuz ruling in Ju·deʹa afta his faddah Herod, he wen come sked fo go ova dea. On top of dat, God wen warn him in anodda dream fo no go dea. So he wen go Galʹi·lee side.
23 An he go live in Nazʹa·reth town. Dat wen make wat da prophets wen tell come tru: “Dey goin call um one Naz·a·reneʹ.”*
