Wat Matthew Wen Write 14:1-36
14 Dat time, King Herod wen hea about da tings Jesus did.
2 He tell his workas: “Fo shua dis John da Baptiza. He stay back from da dead, az why he get da powa fo do all dese miracles.”
3 Herod* wen arrest John an tie him up an put um in jail cuz of He·roʹdi·as, his braddah Philip’s wife,
4 cuz John been telling Herod: “You not suppose to marry her.”
5 Herod wanted fo kill him, but he wuz sked cuz da peopo wen figga John wuz one prophet.
6 But at Herod’s birthday party, He·roʹdi·as daughtah wen dance. Herod wen like da dance so much
7 dat he promise fo give her wateva she like.
8 Den she tell: “Bring me John da Baptiza’s head on one platter,” cuz her maddah push her fo do dat.
9 Even tho wen bodda him wat she ask fo, he neva like go back on da promise he wen make in front his guests, so he give da word fo go do um.
10 So he sen one soldier fo go da jail an cut off John’s head.
11 Da soldier give da girl John’s head on one platter an she take um to her maddah.
12 Layta on John’s followas had come an take his body an bury um. Den dey go tell Jesus wat had happen.
13 Wen Jesus hea dis, he leave on one boat fo go someplace fo be by himself. But wen da peopo find out, dey wen leave dea towns an chase afta him on da shore.
14 Wen he got to shore, he seen choke peopo, an wen feel sorry fo dem, an he heal da sick guys.
15 Wuz late aftanoon so his guys tell him: “Stay late awready an no moa notting ova hea. Tell evrybody go, so dat dey can go in da small towns fo buy food.”
16 But Jesus tell dem: “Dey no need leave. You give dem someting fo eat.”
17 Dey tell him: “We no moa notting, ony five loaf bread an two fish.”
18 He tell um: “Bring um ova hea by me.”
19 He tell da peopo fo sit on da grass. Den he take da five loaf bread an two fish, look up to heaven an sed one praya. Den he break up da bread, give um to his guys, an dey wen give um to da peopo.
20 So dey wen all eat til dey full. An dey wen colleck all da lef ovas an had fill up 12 baskets.
21 Had 5,000 braddahs plus wahines an kids eating.
22 Right afta dat, he made his followas go on da boat to da odda side, but he wen stay back an sen da peopo away.
23 Afta dat, he wen go by himself in da mountains fo pray. He wuz still by himself wen had get dark.
24 By den, da boat wuz way out* on da watta. An cuz da wind wuz making da waves pound da boat, Jesus guys wuz having hahd time control um.
25 Early in da morning* wen wuz still dark, Jesus wen go walk on da watta to dem.
26 Wen his guys see him walking on da watta, dey come all sked an tell: “Wat iz dat? We seeing tings o wat?” An dey all start fo yell cuz dey wuz sked.
27 But right den an dea, Jesus tell: “No worry! Az ony me, no be sked.”
28 Peter tell him: “Lord, if dass you, tell me fo come to you on top da watta.”
29 Jesus tell: “Come!” So Peter wen get outa da boat an walk on top da watta to Jesus.
30 But Peter wen look at da storm an come sked. Wen he had start fo sink, he yell: “Lord, help me!”
31 Real fas Jesus stick out his hand an grab um. He tell: “You ony trus me litto bit. How come you tink you no can do um?”
32 Afta dey get inside da boat, da wind wen die down.
33 Den da guys in da boat wen go on dea knees fo show respeck to him an tell: “You really God’s Boy.”
34 Den dey go across da sea an come to one place dey call Gen·nesʹa·ret.
35 Wen da guys ova dea figga dat wuz Jesus, dey tell da peopo in all da places aroun dea dat Jesus had come. So dey bring him all da guys dat wuz sick.
36 An dey beg him fo let dem jus touch da edge of his clothes, an all da guys dat wen touch his clothes wen come good.
