Use Online Bible Study Lessons on JW.ORG

The Online Bible Study Lessons on jw.org are free, have no obligation, and are easy to use. Learn at your own pace in the privacy of your own home. You won’t need to register or provide personal information.

 Get Started

Go to BIBLE TEACHINGS > ONLINE LESSONS to open the Online Bible Study Lessons page.

Click the Start Course button to begin the Basic Bible Teachings course with the first lesson.

Alternatively, click a lesson image or title to begin that lesson.

 Track Your Progress

As you go through a lesson, the Your Progress bar on the Online Bible Study Lessons page indicates how much of the course you have completed.

Within a lesson, the progress bar under the lesson title shows how much of the lesson you have completed. The spaces in the progress bar indicate the start of a new section in the lesson.

If you return to the Online Bible Study Lessons page on the same device and internet browser, the Resume button displays the lesson number and title where you left off last time. Click the Resume button to start where you left off.

 Basic Navigation

  • Click the right arrow to move to the next slide in the lesson.

  • Click the left arrow to move to the previous slide in the lesson.

Click a scripture reference to read the passage from the free online Bible that is included with Online Bible Study Lessons.

 Interactive Learning Tools

The Online Bible Study Lessons use an engaging interactive style that makes new concepts quick to learn and easy to remember.

Video

Click the Play icon in the center of the picture to play a video.

While a video is playing, use the buttons to control playback.

  • Click Pause to pause the video.

  • Click Play to resume.

  • To move to a different place in the video, drag the location indicator forward or backward.

  • Click the Video Settings icon to change the resolution of the video currently playing.

  • Click the Full-Screen icon to switch to full-screen mode.

Interactive Text

Click a highlighted word or phrase to show its explanation.

Slideshow

The slideshow uses images to compare or contrast ideas.

  • Click the right arrow or the right side of the image to show the next image in the slideshow.

  • Click the left arrow or the left side of the image to show the previous image in the slideshow.

Alternatively, each dot at the bottom of the image represents one image in the slideshow. Click a dot to go to that image.

Animated Slider

The animated slider shows multiple images in sequence to illustrate an idea.

Click and drag the slider to change the picture.

TIP: Click the end of the slider bar to see all the images in the sequence change automatically.

Multiple Choice

Choose an option to answer the question or complete the statement.

Matching

Match an item in one group with an item in the other group.

Click an item in one group, then click an item in the other group to match the two items.

A green check mark indicates that you matched the item correctly.

 Help

  • Click the Help button at the bottom of the page to see a demonstration of the interactive learning tool on the page.

  • Alternatively, click the Help icon within the text.

If you need help with a question, click the Show Answer button.

 Audio Mode

When Audio Mode is turned on, all lesson content, review questions, and answer options are read to you. When you click an answer in a learning tool, a sound indicates whether the answer was correct or incorrect.

  • Click the Audio Mode button to turn on Audio Mode.

  • Click the button again to turn off Audio Mode.

 Supplementary Information

If you want to learn more about the topic covered in the lesson, click the links to additional research material listed at the end of each lesson.

The supplementary information displays in a pop-up window.

Alternatively, click the link at the bottom of the Online Bible Study Lessons page to see all the supplementary information referred to in the course.
