Ramapo Construction Update #3

Number of Daily Workers Reaches 1,000

Ramapo Construction Update #3

In August 2026, the Ramapo project reached a new peak of activity, with more than 1,000 brothers and sisters working each day! These zealous workers are playing a critical role as development of the site accelerates.

Commenting on the progress made in the last few months, Brother Jordon Gorrie, who oversees construction of the residence buildings, said: “We are thrilled by what has recently been accomplished. Final touches are progressing on the first permanent structure on the site, the residential parking garage. Plus, a temporary dining room to support the construction family is well underway. Additionally, five residential buildings are currently in different stages of construction. We truly feel that Jehovah is blessing our efforts and directing the work!”

With so many working on the Ramapo site each day, training is critical. Work crews conduct daily safety meetings to identify potential dangers and to encourage a “safety first” approach. Regardless of their level of construction experience, brothers and sisters receive training in specific skills associated with their assignments. As a result, the work is accomplished in a timely yet safe manner. Sister Trish Adkins, who works with the Safety and Training Department, noted: “What stands out to me is that safety is built into the training we receive. I have no doubt that the good safety habits we develop here will stay with us long after the project is done.”

Providing wholesome meals for such a large group of hardworking individuals is also an important aspect of the project. Each workday, food is prepared at the Bethel facilities in nearby Tuxedo and transported to the Ramapo site. To accommodate the large number of workers, the midday meal is currently served in three shifts in the on-site temporary dining structure. However, a larger temporary structure is now being constructed on the roof of the soon-to-be-completed residential parking garage. This new structure, which will be supported by an on-site kitchen, can accommodate up to 1,000 individuals at once. Our brothers expect to begin using these new temporary facilities in early 2027.

Workers attending a monthly spiritual program in the temporary dining structure

Along with caring for their practical needs, special attention is given to the spiritual well-being of the brothers and sisters serving at Ramapo. One way this is accomplished is through a monthly spiritual program. All involved in the project are invited to attend these encouraging meetings, which include a Bible-based talk, interviews, and updates on the work. Brother Kobi Gay, who works at the on-site concrete batch plant, remarked: “The monthly meeting always feels like an encouraging boost. During the program, video updates show how the work is progressing. The talks always remind me to look for Jehovah’s hand in the work and help me remain excited and focused on my assignment.”

As the Ramapo project begins to take shape, we pray that Jehovah continues to bless the efforts of the many brothers and sisters who have made themselves available to support the work.—Isaiah 6:8.
