Jonah 3:1-10

  • Jonah obey God and go Nineveh (1-4)

  • People of Nineveh repent when them hear Jonah message (5-9)

  • God decide say e no go destroy Nineveh (10)

3  Then Joʹnah receive message from Jehovah for the second time, say: 2  “Get up, go Ninʹe·veh the great city, and tell the people the message wey I de tell you.” 3  So Joʹnah obey wetin Jehovah tell-am and e go Ninʹe·veh. Now Ninʹe·veh na really big city* wey person fit use three days waka round-am.* 4  Then Joʹnah enter the city, and as e de waka for one full day, e de talk say: “Na just 40 days remain, Ninʹe·veh go fall.” 5  And the men of Ninʹe·veh put faith for God, and them talk say make the people fast, and wear sackcloth, from the person wey big pass go reach the person wey small pass among them. 6  When the king of Ninʹe·veh hear the message, e get up from im throne and remove im king cloth and use sackcloth cover imself and sitdown inside ashes. 7  Another thing be say, e tell them make them go announce for the whole Ninʹe·veh say,“The law of the king and the people wey de rule with-am na say: Make no man or animal, cow, goat, or sheep chop anything at all. Make them no chop food and make them no drink any water. 8  Make them use sackcloth cover theirself, both man and animal, and make them really use all their heart call God and comot hand from all their wicked character and from the bad things wey them de do. 9  Who know whether the true God fit change im mind about* wetin e want do and stop to vex so that we no go die?” 10  When the true God see wetin them do, how them don comot hand from their wicked character, e change im mind about* the trouble wey e say e go bring ontop them, and e no bring-am.
