Use Bible Principle to Train Your Conscience

Use Bible Principle to Train Your Conscience

“Everybody will carry their own load.”GAL. 6:5.

WHAT THE MAIN POINT?

We will learn how Bible principle can help us to train our conscience so da we can make good decisions.

1-2. (a) What kindna gift Jehovah give Adam and Eve? (b) How they wor suppose to show da they grateful for da gift?

ANIMALS can act certain way because da how Jehovah make them. Plenty machines can work certain way because da how they make them to work. But Jehovah make us different. He give us special gift da really important to us. And da gift da free will. It can allow us to make our own decision in life. The Bible tell us da God make Adam in his image. (Gen. 1:26, 27) Jehovah make Adam and Eve and give them the opportunity to make their own decision.

2 Jehovah not give Adam and Eve plenty laws. He only tell them to take care of the earth, full up it with their children, and to respect his right to decide what good and what bad for them. (Gen. 1:28; 2:16, 17) Adam and Eve suppose to be willing to obey this simple command dem. Like da, they wor coming show da they love Jehovah and they want make him happy. They wor also coming to show da they grateful for the free will to make decision and all the other thing dem da Jehovah give them.—Prov. 23:15.

3. How Adam and Eve use their free will?

3 The Bible say da Adam and Eve not use their free will the right way. But they decide to disobey Jehovah. The decision they make show da they only love theirself and not Jehovah. (Gen. 3:1-7) We still suffering today because of da bad decision they make.—Rom. 5:12.

4. (a) According to Galatians 6:5, wetin all of us mon do? (b) What other gift we coming talk about in this article?

4 Our life can really be hard because of the plenty decision dem we get to make every day. (Read Galatians 6:5.) Some of this decision dem can be easy to make, but some of dem can really be hard. So how we can make decisions da will make Jehovah happy? The first thing we mon do da to accept da we need Jehovah to help us. (Prov. 16:3; Jer. 10:23) Even Jesus who wor perfect knew da he need God to help him. (Heb. 5:7) What about we human being who not perfect? We really need Jehovah to help us. Beside free will, Jehovah na give human being another gift. And da gift da our conscience. Now, let talk about how it can help us to make good decision.

WHAT THE CONSCIENCE CAN DO?

5. How our conscience can help us? (Romans 2:14, 15)

5 God make us with conscience da can help us to know right from wrong. Even somebody who not know God laws get conscience. (2 Cor. 4:2) Our conscience looking just like judge inside us. It can tell us whether the thing we thinking about or the thing we doing good or bad. (Read Romans 2:14, 15.) If we want do something da not correct, our conscience can warn us. (1 Sam. 26:8-11) It can also encourage us to do the right thing. But just because we get free will not mean all the decision dem we will make in life will make Jehovah happy. Our conscience mon be able to help us to know whether the decision we making good or bad.

6. Why our conscience can’t help us all the time?

6 But da not all the time our conscience can help us. The same way we not perfect, da just how our conscience not perfect. The family we come from, the place we grow up or even our own wrong desires can make our conscience weak. The Bible say da the conscience can get “weak,” can’t be “clean,” can “die just like the mark da hot iron can leave on somebody skin,” or can even “get bad.” (1 Cor. 8:12; Titus 1:15; 1 Tim. 4:2; Heb. 10:22) Da kindna conscience can’t help you to make good decision. It can be looking like car da get problem da they need to fix. Da the same way we need to work hard to train our conscience to be in good condition. (1 Pet. 3:16) How we can do it?

HOW WE CAN TRAIN OUR CONSCIENCE?

7-8. (a) Wetin will help us to train our conscience? (b) How Bible principles can help us? Give example. (Also see the picture.)

7 How we can train our conscience? We can do it by reading the Bible every day and learning what Jehovah say about what right and what wrong. When we study God laws, it will help us to understand the way he can think. But we learn in the article before this one, da laws can’t help us in every situation. Da the reason why we need to learn Bible principles. Because it will help us to know how Jehovah can think and feel about plenty other situations.—Isa. 55:9.

8 We can compare our life to walking in the desert where they not get any particular road or sign to direct us. But it will really help us if we get map da can show us thing dem da easy to see like mountains and rivers. Da kindna map will help us to know whether we going in the right direction or the wrong direction. The Bible just like da map da can give us clear direction. If we train our conscience and apply what we learn from the Bible about the way Jehovah can think, we can be sure da we going in the right direction. And we will reach our goal to always make Jehovah happy.

Bible principles just looking like thing dem da can be in the desert like mountains and rivers, da can help you to know whether you going in the right direction (See paragraph 8)

9. Wetin else can help us to train our conscience? (Romans 9:1, 2)

9 Another thing da can help us to train our conscience the right way da God holy spirit. (Read Romans 9:1, 2.) Holy spirit will help us to understand the way God can think. It can also encourage us and give us the strength to do what Jehovah want us to do. (Phil. 2:13) But wetin we can do to get Jehovah holy spirit?

10. Wetin we can do to get Jehovah holy spirit? (Luke 11:10, 13)

10 Pray for holy spirit. (Read Luke 11:10, 13.) We convince da Jehovah want give us his holy spirit. (John 3:34) He can be happy to give his holy spirit to the people who can obey him. (Prov. 1:23; Jas. 1:5) But wetin else will help us to train our conscience?

11. (a) What mon be our main goal in life? (b) Why we need to make sure da our conscience working good-good?

11 Always try to make Jehovah happy. (Prov. 8:34, 35) This one mon be our main goal in life. If we going through any situation and we remember da we need to make Jehovah happy, it will help us to train our conscience. And if we think the way Jehovah can think and try hard to do things da will make him happy, we will get clean conscience. It not easy to live in this world today, so it important for us to train our conscience. Most of the time, we can make decision about thing dem the Bible not really talk about. For example, we need to decide wetin we will enjoy ourself with, what kindna work we will do or what kindna school we will go to. We can also decide what kindna people we want spent time with. So how we can be sure da Jehovah happy with this decision dem we can make?—2 Cor. 1:12.

12. Wetin will help us to know whether our conscience helping us to do the right thing? (Ephesians 5:10)

12 Think good-good on what you read in the Bible. (Ps. 49:3) When you read the Bible, try to look for principle dem da will help you to understand Jehovah thinking. (Read Ephesians 5:10.) Then when we going through serious problem, we will know whether our conscience helping us to make the right decisions. (Prov. 2:4-9, 11-13) This Bible principle dem can help us to train our conscience and to do the right thing.—Heb. 5:14.

13. Wetin we mon not do when we making decisions? Give example.

13 Don’t make decision first before you start looking for Bible principles to support it. We not want be like the Israelite dem who wor still living in Judah after they destroy Jerusalem in 607 B.C.E. They tell Jeremiah say: “May Jehovah your God tell us the way we should walk and what we should do.” (Jer. 42:3-6) But before da time, they already decide what they wanted to do. When Jehovah tell them what he wanted them to do, they wor not happy with it. So they disobey him and decide to do their own thing. Because of da, plenty bad-bad thing dem happen to them. (Jer. 42:19-22; 43:1, 2, 4) What the lesson? Before we make any decision, we mon first look for Bible principles da will help us to know how Jehovah think about it. Then we can make our decision da go in line with it.

14. When we making decisions, why we need to apply Bible principles?

14 Apply Bible principles when you making decision. (Matt. 7:24-29; Jas. 1:23-25) When we making decision and we apply Bible principles, we will be allowing God holy spirit to help us. Like da, Jehovah will continue to give us his holy spirit. (Acts 5:32) But if we not allow Jehovah holy spirit to help us, we will “be making God vex by going against his holy spirit.” (Eph. 4:30; Isa. 63:10; Acts 7:51) And it can even make it for Jehovah to take his holy spirit from us. (Ps. 51:11; 1 Thess. 5:19) Da one will be too bad because we really need strength from the holy spirit.—Eph. 3:16.

15 Make research in our publication dem. Before we apply Bible principle, we need to know where it eh in the Bible. For example, wetin you will do if your Bible student finding it hard to understand why they mon stop smoking? Maybe he tell you say, ‘smoking business not in the Bible. So how you know da it wrong?’ How you can help your student to find Bible principles da will help him to understand why smoking wrong? When he read da article, what some scriptures and Bible principle dem he will find?

16 Da article get plenty Bible principles, but let talk about five. (1) We mon not get use to doing something da can kill us. (Rom. 6:16) (2) We mon try to stay away from anything da not good for our body. (2 Cor. 7:1) (3) Jehovah want us to serve him with our whole heart, mind, and strength. (Matt. 22:37) (4) We mon not do anything da will hurt other people or make them feel bad. (Matt. 22:39; 1 Cor. 10:24) (5) Jehovah can give us the strength to do the right thing. (Phil. 4:13) Even though the Bible not talk about smoking, but Bible principles can help your student to understand how Jehovah feel about it.

17. How brother or sister who planning to get marry can find Bible principles da will help them to make good decisions?

17 How brother or sister who planning to get marry can find Bible principles da will help them to make good decisions? The same Research Guide can help them. It get one subheading da say, “Weddings and Receptions.” Under da subheading, you will find plenty articles da get Bible principles. (Gal. 5:21) (6) The people who getting marry mon ask one mature brother to help them direct their program.—John 2:8, 9.

18-19. (a) What other publication can help us? (b) How you can use this publication to find Bible principle da will help you to make good decision about celebrations? (See the box “ You Able to Find Bible Principles for This Topic Dem?”)

18 Another publication da plenty people na benefit from da the book Scriptures for Christian Living. This book get different-different topics, and it get plenty scriptures on this topic dem. 19 Let talk about some of the thing dem da under da topic. One of the question under da topic say: “Why is it wrong to share in celebrations that are contaminated by false religion? (1Co 10:21; 2Co 6:14-18; Eph 5:10, 11)” Then it talk about some celebration dem da wrong. You can find some Bible principles under the subheading “Nationalistic celebrations” da will help you to make the right decision about whether to celebrate national holiday. Or whether to celebrate holiday about something the government na do, da honor war or da give honor to human being da only Jehovah suppose to get. We really happy da Jehovah organization na provide this publication dem da can help us to train our conscience!

20 We grateful to Jehovah for giving us free will. But we know da for us to use our free will the right way, we need to train our conscience. And when we train our conscience good-good, it will help us to make decisions da will honor Jehovah and make him happy. This one can help us to know da our conscience working good-good. But to do this one, we need Jehovah holy spirit. So we mon continue to pray to Jehovah for his holy spirit and allow it to help us. We can also use Bible principles to train our conscience.
