Joel 2:1-32
2 “Blow horn for Zion!
Shout war shout for my holy mountain.
Make all the people wey de live for the land* shake with fear,Because the day of Jehovah de come! E don near!
2 That day na day wey darkness go dey and e go really dark,Day wey clouds go dey and thick darkness go dey,Like the light wey de spread ontop mountains when day just de break.
E get one nation wey im people plenty and strong; No nation don ever be like-am,And no nation go ever be like-am againFor the years of all generations.
3 Fire de burn everything wey dey their front,And fire de destroy everything wey dey their back.
The land wey dey their front be like the garden of Eʹden,But na empty wilderness dey their back,And nothing fit escape.
4 Them be like horse them,And them de run like horse wey them de use for war.
5 Their sound be like chariots as them de run ontop mountains,And like the sound of fire wey de burn dry grass.
E be like strong people wey de arrange theirself to go fight.
6 People go de worry and de feel pains because of them.
Fear go dey for the face of everybody.
7 Them de run like strong soldiers,Them de climb wall like soldiers,Each of them de go straight,And them no de comot from their roads.
8 Them no de push each other; Each of them de move for im own road.
If weapons make some of them fall,The others no de scatter comot from the road.
9 Them de rush enter the city, and them de run ontop the wall.
Them de climb ontop the house them, and them de pass through windows enter like thief.
10 The land de shake for their front, and the heavens de shake too.
Sun and moon don dark,And the stars no de shine again.
11 Jehovah go use loud voice talk for front of im army, because im camp plenty well-well.
The person wey de do wetin E talk dey strong;Because the day of Jehovah dey great and e de really make people fear.
Who fit endure-am?”
12 This na wetin Jehovah talk, “But even now, make una come back to me with all una heart,Make una de do fasting, de cry, and de shout.
13 Make una tear una hearts, and no be una cloths,And come back to Jehovah una God,Because e de feel for person* and de show mercy, e no de quick vex and e de always show love wey no de fail,And e go think again about* the trouble wey e want bring.
14 Who know whether e go turn back and think again*And bless una,So that una go do grain offering and drink offering to Jehovah una God?
15 Blow horn for Zion!
Announce say make the people fast; tell the people make them gather for holy occasion.
16 Gather the people; make the people wey gather dey holy.
Gather the old men;* gather the children and the babies wey de suck breasts.
Make the man wey want marry come out from im room wey dey inside-inside, and make the woman wey want marry come out from im room.
17 For the place wey dey between the veranda and the altar,Make the priests, the people wey de work for Jehovah, cry and talk say:
‘O Jehovah, make you pity your people; No let your property be something wey people go use laugh,No let the nations rule them.
Why people go talk say, “Where their God dey?”’
18 Then Jehovah go use all im heart protect im landAnd feel for im people.
19 Jehovah go answer im people say:
‘See, I de send una grain and new wine and oil,And una go belleful well-well;I no go make people among the nations laugh una again.
20 I go drive the person wey come from north side go far from una;I go scatter-am go dry and empty land wey don spoil,I go pursue im army* wey dey front go the sea wey dey east side*And I go pursue im army wey dey back go the sea wey dey west side.*
The bad smell from im body go come out,The strong smell from-am go continue to come out;Because E go do big things.’
21 O land, make you no fear.
Make you get joy and happy, because Jehovah go do big things.
22 Una wey be bush animals, make una no fear,Because the grass for wilderness go become green,And the trees go bear fruit; The fig tree and the vine must produce reach how e suppose be.
23 Una wey be sons of Zion, make una get joy and happy because of Jehovah una God;Because e go give una early rain reach how e suppose be,E go make heavy rain fall for una,The early rain and the late rain, as e de be before.
24 Pure grain go full the place wey them de separate grain from plant,And new wine and oil go overfull the place wey them de produce them.
25 And I go pay una back the things wey una lose for the years weyThe plenty locusts wey de move in group chop una things, together with the locusts wey no get wings, the locusts wey no de belleful, and the locusts wey de chop everything finish,My big army wey I send enter among una.
26 Una go surely chop belleful,And una go praise the name of Jehovah una God,Wey don do wonderful things for una;Them no go ever make my people shame again.
27 And una go know say I dey with IsraelAnd say I be Jehovah una God—no other one dey!
Them no go ever make my people shame again.
28 After that one, I go pour my spirit ontop every kind of flesh,And una sons and una daughters go talk wetin go happen for future,Una old men go dream dreams,And una young men go see visions.
29 And for that time, I go even pour out my spiritOntop my men slaves and my women slaves.
30 And I go do wonderful things* for the heavens and for earth,Blood and fire and thick smoke go dey.
31 The sun go turn to darkness and the moon go turn to bloodBefore the great day of Jehovah come, the day wey de make people fear.
32 And Jehovah go save everybody wey de call im name;Because people wey escape go dey ontop Mount Zion and for Jerusalem, just as Jehovah don talk-am,The people wey survive wey Jehovah call.”
