Jesu no vajiji vake vaciri pa hwendo mu Pereya, vanorungama ku Jerusarema ngo kanjikazi. Pavanoda kupeja hwendo hwavo, vanoambuka Murambo wa Jorodhani, phedo no Jeriko. Vandhu vamweni vanovaperekeja kuti vaende ku Pasika yo gore ro 33 N.V.Y.

Jesu ari ngo nyezuru ko vajiji vake, ecifambisira kuti agume kudhorobha phasika icito yatanga. Asi vajiji vari kuthya. Ngo kocitatu Jesu ecibhuya no vajiji vake ngo pamusoro po kufa kwake no kumuka. (Mateu 16:21; 17:22, 23) Asi wari iyena ari kunanga kuti anozokohomehwa pa danda. Kunasa kunganga, cikumbiro cainga ca Jakobo na Johani. Jesu wapera kunanga ngo pamusoro po kupserujwa kwaari kuda kusongana nako. Ngo kudaro iyena anovabvunja kuti: “Amubzizivi bzo munokumbira. Munokwanisa kumwa mukheyo wo ndinozomwa inini?” Ivona vanoti: “Tinokwanisa.” (Mateu 20:22) Zvingaita kuti avazvizivi zvazvinoreva kamare kwavari.

Kaveta Jesu anovabvunja kuti: “Munozomwa mukheyo wangu. Kaveta kugara pa mukono wangu wo muho dangani wo boxwe asipi bzangu kumupa, Baba wangu vanozopa vaya vakasanwa.”—Mateu 20:23.

Ngo kudaro Jesu anovabvunja kuti vamutevejere eciti: “Mwana wo Mundhu aazivi kuvia kobatihwa kaveta kobatira, no kupa uhomi hwake kuti aponese vazinji.” (Mateu 20:28) Kwapera makore matatu Jesu ecishandira vamweni. Iyena anozoshandira vamweni mbhera pa kufira vandhu. Vajiji vanodikana kutevejera Jesu pa kuva no cido co kushandira vamweni kuciripi kushandihwa basi, kuva vadoko kuciripi kuva no cigaro cinonduma.
