11  Ἤκουσαν Heard δὲ butοἱ theἀπόστολοι apostlesκαὶ andοἱ theἀδελφοὶ brothersοἱ the (ones)ὄντες beingκατὰ downτὴν theἸουδαίαν Judeaὅτι thatκαὶ alsoτὰ theἔθνη nationsἐδέξαντο acceptedτὸν theλόγον wordτοῦ of theθεοῦ. God. 2  Ὅτε When δὲ butἀνέβη went upΠέτρος Peterεἰς intoἸερουσαλήμ, Jerusalem,διεκρίνοντο were contendingπρὸς towardαὐτὸν himοἱ the (ones)ἐκ out ofπεριτομῆς circumcision 3  λέγοντες saying ὅτι thatεἰσῆλθεν he went inπρὸς towardἄνδρας male personsἀκροβυστίαν uncircumcisionἔχοντας havingκαὶ andσυνέφαγεν he ate withαὐτοῖς. them. 4  ἀρξάμενος Having started δὲ butΠέτρος Peterἐξετίθετο was setting outαὐτοῖς to themκαθεξῆς according to orderλέγων saying 5  ᾿Εγὼ I ἤμην wasἐν inπόλει cityἸόππῃ Joppaπροσευχόμενος prayingκαὶ andεἶδον I sawἐν inἐκστάσει ecstasyὅραμα, vision,καταβαῖνον coming downσκεῦός vesselτι someὡς asὀθόνην linen pieceμεγάλην greatτέσσαρσιν to fourἀρχαῖς startsκαθιεμένην being let downἐκ out ofτοῦ theοὐρανοῦ, heaven,καὶ andἦλθεν cameἄχρι untilἐμοῦ· me; 6  εἰς into ἣν whichἀτενίσας having gazedκατενόουν I was minding downκαὶ andεἶδον I sawτὰ theτετράποδα four-footed (things)τῆς of theγῆς earthκαὶ andτὰ theθηρία wild beastsκαὶ andτὰ theἑρπετὰ creeping thingsκαὶ andτὰ theπετεινὰ birdsτοῦ of theοὐρανοῦ· heaven; 7  ἤκουσα I heard δὲ butκαὶ alsoφωνῆς of voiceλεγούσης sayingμοι to me᾿Αναστάς, Having stood up,Πέτρε, Peter,θῦσον sacrificeκαὶ andφάγε. eat. 8  εἶπον I said δέ butΜηδαμῶς, By no means,κύριε, Lord,ὅτι becauseκοινὸν commonorἀκάθαρτον uncleanοὐδέποτε neverεἰσῆλθεν enteredεἰς intoτὸ theστόμα mouthμου. of me. 9  ἀπεκρίθη Answered δὲ butἐκ out ofδευτέρου second [time]φωνὴ voiceἐκ out ofτοῦ theοὐρανοῦ heavenWhat (things)theθεὸς Godἐκαθάρισεν cleansedσὺ youμὴ notκοίνου. be you making common. 10  τοῦτο This δὲ butἐγένετο occurredἐπὶ uponτρίς, three times,καὶ andἀνεσπάσθη was drawn upπάλιν againἅπαντα all (things)εἰς intoτὸν theοὐρανόν. heaven. 11  καὶ And ἰδοὺ look!ἐξαυτῆς out of that [hour]τρεῖς threeἄνδρες male personsἐπέστησαν stoodἐπὶ uponτὴν theοἰκίαν houseἐν inwhichἦμεν, we were,ἀπεσταλμένοι having been sent forthἀπὸ fromΚαισαρίας Caesareaπρός towardμε. me. 12  εἶπεν Said δὲ butτὸ theπνεῦμά spiritμοι to meσυνελθεῖν to go withαὐτοῖς themμηδὲν nothingδιακρίναντα. having doubted.ἦλθον Cameδὲ butσὺν together withἐμοὶ meκαὶ alsoοἱ theἕξ sixἀδελφοὶ brothersοὗτοι, these,καὶ andεἰσήλθομεν we enteredεἰς intoτὸν theοἶκον houseτοῦ of theἀνδρός. male person. 13  ᾿Απήγγειλεν He reported back δὲ butἡμῖν to usπῶς howεἶδεν he sawτὸν theἄγγελον angelἐν inτῷ theοἴκῳ houseαὐτοῦ of himσταθέντα having stoodκαὶ andεἰπόντα having said᾿Απόστειλον Send you forthεἰς intoἸόππην Joppaκαὶ andμετάπεμψαι send acrossΣίμωνα Simonτὸν the (one)ἐπικαλούμενον being surnamedΠέτρον, Peter, 14  ὃς who λαλήσει will speakῥήματα sayingsπρὸς towardσὲ youἐν inοἷς whichσωθήσῃ will be savedσὺ youκαὶ andπᾶς alltheοἶκός houseσου. of you. 15  ἐν In δὲ butτῷ to theἄρξασθαί to startμε meλαλεῖν to be speakingἐπέπεσεν fell uponτὸ theπνεῦμα spiritτὸ theἅγιον holyἐπ’ uponαὐτοὺς themὥσπερ as-evenκαὶ alsoἐφ’ uponἡμᾶς usἐν inἀρχῇ. beginning. 16  ἐμνήσθην I remembered δὲ butτοῦ of theῥήματος sayingτοῦ of theκυρίου Lordὡς asἔλεγεν he was sayingἸωάνης Johnμὲν indeedἐβάπτισεν baptizedὕδατι to waterὑμεῖς YOUδὲ butβαπτισθήσεσθε will be baptizedἐν inπνεύματι spiritἁγίῳ. holy. 17  εἰ If οὖν thereforeτὴν theἴσην equalδωρεὰν free giftἔδωκεν gaveαὐτοῖς to themtheθεὸς Godὡς asκαὶ alsoἡμῖν to usπιστεύσασιν having believedἐπὶ uponτὸν theκύριον LordἸησοῦν JesusΧριστόν, Christ,ἐγὼ Iτίς whoἤμην was Iδυνατὸς powerfulκωλῦσαι to hinderτὸν theθεόν; God? 18  ᾿Ακούσαντες Having heard δὲ butταῦτα these (things)ἡσύχασαν they got quietκαὶ andἐδόξασαν they glorifiedτὸν theθεὸν Godλέγοντες sayingἌρα Reallyκαὶ alsoτοῖς to theἔθνεσιν nationstheθεὸς Godτὴν theμετάνοιαν repentanceεἰς intoζωὴν lifeἔδωκεν. gave. 19  Οἱ The (ones) μὲν indeedοὖν thereforeδιασπαρέντες having been dispersedἀπὸ fromτῆς theθλίψεως tribulationτῆς the (one)γενομένης having occurredἐπὶ uponΣτεφάνῳ Stephenδιῆλθον they went throughἕως untilΦοινίκης Phoeniciaκαὶ andΚύπρου of Cyprusκαὶ and᾿Αντιοχείας, of Antioch,μηδενὶ to no oneλαλοῦντες speakingτὸν theλόγον wordεἰ ifμὴ notμόνον onlyἸουδαίοις. to Jews. 20  ῏Ησαν Were δέ butτινες someἐξ out ofαὐτῶν themἄνδρες male personsΚύπριοι Cypriansκαὶ andΚυρηναῖοι, Cyrenians,οἵτινες whoἐλθόντες having comeεἰς into᾿Αντιόχειαν Antiochἐλάλουν were speakingκαὶ alsoπρὸς towardτοὺς theἙλληνιστάς, Hellenists,εὐαγγελιζόμενοι declaring as good newsτὸν theκύριον LordἸησοῦν. Jesus. 21  καὶ And ἦν wasχεὶρ handΚυρίου of Lordμετ’ withαὐτῶν, them,πολύς muchτε andἀριθμὸς numbertheπιστεύσας having believedἐπέστρεψεν turnedἐπὶ uponτὸν theκύριον. Lord. 22  Ἠκούσθη Was heard δὲ buttheλόγος wordεἰς intoτὰ theὦτα earsτῆς of theἐκκλησίας ecclesiaτῆς the (one)οὔσης beingἐν inἸερουσαλὴμ Jerusalemπερὶ aboutαὐτῶν, them,καὶ andἐξαπέστειλαν they sent off outΒαρνάβαν Barnabasἕως until᾿Αντιοχείας· Antioch; 23  ὃς who παραγενόμενος having come to be alongsideκαὶ andἰδὼν having seenτὴν theχάριν undeserved kindnessτὴν the (one)τοῦ of theθεοῦ Godἐχάρη he rejoicedκαὶ andπαρεκάλει he was encouragingπάντας all (them)τῇ to theπροθέσει purposeτῆς of theκαρδίας heartπροσμένειν to be remaining towardἐν inτῷ theκυρίῳ, Lord, 24  ὅτι because ἦν he wasἀνὴρ male personἀγαθὸς goodκαὶ andπλήρης fullπνεύματος of spiritἁγίου holyκαὶ andπίστεως. of faith.καὶ Andπροσετέθη was addedὄχλος crowdἱκανὸς sufficientτῷ to theκυρίῳ. Lord. 25  ἐξῆλθεν He went out δὲ butεἰς intoΤαρσὸν Tarsusἀναζητῆσαι to seek upΣαῦλον, Saul, 26  καὶ and εὑρὼν having foundἤγαγεν he ledεἰς into᾿Αντιόχειαν. Antioch.ἐγένετο It occurredδὲ butαὐτοῖς to themκαὶ andἐνιαυτὸν yearὅλον wholeσυναχθῆναι to be led togetherἐν inτῇ theἐκκλησίᾳ ecclesiaκαὶ andδιδάξαι to teachὄχλον crowdἱκανόν, sufficient,χρηματίσαι to style divinelyτε andπρώτως firstlyἐν in᾿Αντιοχείᾳ Antiochτοὺς theμαθητὰς disciplesΧριστιανούς. Christians. 27  ᾿Εν In ταύταις theseδὲ butταῖς theἡμέραις daysκατῆλθον they came downἀπὸ fromἸεροσολύμων Jerusalemπροφῆται prophetsεἰς into᾿Αντιόχειαν· Antioch; 28  ἀναστὰς having stood up δὲ butεἷς oneἐξ out ofαὐτῶν themὀνόματι to nameἌγαβος Agabusἐσήμαινεν was signifyingδιὰ throughτοῦ theπνεύματος spiritλιμὸν famineμεγάλην greatμέλλειν to be aboutἔσεσθαι to go to beἐφ’ uponὅλην wholeτὴν theοἰκουμένην· being inhabited [earth];ἥτις whichἐγένετο occurredἐπὶ uponΚλαυδίου. Claudius. 29  τῶν Of the δὲ butμαθητῶν disciplesκαθὼς according asεὐπορεῖτό was getting through wellτις anyoneὥρισαν they determinedἕκαστος eachαὐτῶν of themεἰς intoδιακονίαν serviceπέμψαι to sendτοῖς to the (ones)κατοικοῦσιν inhabitingἐν inτῇ theἸουδαίᾳ Judeaἀδελφοῖς· to brothers; 30  which καὶ alsoἐποίησαν they didἀποστείλαντες having sent offπρὸς towardτοὺς theπρεσβυτέρους older menδιὰ throughχειρὸς handΒαρνάβα of Barnabasκαὶ andΣαύλου.
