How do you maintain a positive view of persecution?

It is difficult to comprehend how in this day and age someone could face criminal prosecution simply for practicing their faith. However, I see clearly that what is happening is a direct fulfillment of Jesus’ words at Matthew 10:17, 18: “They will hand you over to local courts . . . And you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness to them and the nations.” Reading about fulfilled prophecies is one thing; realizing that I am participating in their fulfillment is something entirely different. When I think about this, I am thrilled and I feel a tremendous sense of pride at the privilege I have to work alongside Jehovah.

We are grateful to know that our affection and love for Jehovah results in his protection, which sustains us through all of our trials.—Psalm 91:14.
