Acts 18:1-28

18  Μετὰ Afterταῦτα these (things)χωρισθεὶς having been separatedἐκ out ofτῶν the᾿Αθηνῶν Athensἦλθεν he cameεἰς intoΚόρινθον. Corinth. 2  καὶ Andεὑρών having foundτινα someἸουδαῖον Jewὀνόματι to name᾿Ακύλαν, Aquila,Ποντικὸν Pontianτῷ to theγένει, race,προσφάτως recentlyἐληλυθότα having comeἀπὸ fromτῆς theἸταλίας Italyκαὶ andΠρίσκιλλαν Priscillaγυναῖκα womanαὐτοῦ of himδιὰ throughτὸ theδιατεταχέναι to have orderedΚλαύδιον Claudiusχωρίζεσθαι to be separating themselvesπάντας allτοὺς theἸουδαίους Jewsἀπὸ fromτῆς theῬώμης, Rome,προσῆλθεν he came towardαὐτοῖς, them, 3  καὶ andδιὰ throughτὸ theὁμότεχνον similar tradeεἶναι to beἔμενεν he was remainingπαρ’ besideαὐτοῖς themκαὶ andἠργάζοντο, they were working,ἦσαν they wereγὰρ forσκηνοποιοὶ tentmakersτῇ to theτέχνῃ. trade. 4  διελέγετο He was reasoningδὲ butἐν inτῇ theσυναγωγῇ synagogueκατὰ downπᾶν everyσάββατον, sabbath,ἔπειθέν he was persuadingτε andἸουδαίους Jewsκαὶ andἝλληνας. Greeks. 5  Ὡς Asδὲ butκατῆλθον they went downἀπὸ fromτῆς theΜακεδονίας Macedoniatheτε andΣίλας Silasκαὶ andtheΤιμόθεος, Timothy,συνείχετο was holding himself togetherτῷ to theλόγῳ wordtheΠαῦλος, Paul,διαμαρτυρόμενος thoroughly witnessingτοῖς to theἸουδαίοις Jewsεἶναι to beτὸν theχριστὸν ChristἸησοῦν. Jesus, 6  ἀντιτασσομένων Of (ones) opposingδὲ butαὐτῶν of themκαὶ andβλασφημούντων blasphemingἐκτιναξάμενος having shaken outτὰ theἱμάτια outer garmentsεἶπεν he saidπρὸς towardαὐτούς themΤὸ Theαἷμα bloodὑμῶν of YOUἐπὶ uponτὴν theκεφαλὴν headὑμῶν· of YOU;καθαρὸς cleanἐγώ· I;ἀπὸ fromτοῦ theνῦν nowεἰς intoτὰ theἔθνη nationsπορεύσομαι. I shall go. 7  καὶ Andμεταβὰς having stepped acrossἐκεῖθεν from thereἦλθεν he cameεἰς intoοἰκίαν houseτινὸς of someoneὀνόματι to nameΤιτίου TitiusἸούστου Justusσεβομένου veneratingτὸν theθεόν, God,οὗ whosetheοἰκία houseἦν wasσυνομοροῦσα having joint boundaryτῇ to theσυναγωγῇ. synagogue. 8  Κρίσπος Crispusδὲ buttheἀρχισυνάγωγος synagogue rulerἐπίστευσεν believedτῷ to theκυρίῳ Lordσὺν together withὅλῳ wholeτῷ theοἴκῳ house (hold)αὐτοῦ, of him,καὶ andπολλοὶ manyτῶν of theΚορινθίων Corinthiansἀκούοντες hearingἐπίστευον were believingκαὶ andἐβαπτίζοντο. they were being baptized. 9  Εἶπεν Saidδὲ buttheκύριος Lordἐν inνυκτὶ nightδι’ throughὁράματος visionτῷ to theΠαύλῳ PaulΜὴ Notφοβοῦ, be fearing,ἀλλὰ butλάλει be speakingκαὶ andμὴ notσιωπήσῃς, you should be silent, 10  διότι through whichἐγώ Iεἰμι amμετὰ withσοῦ youκαὶ andοὐδεὶς no oneἐπιθήσεταί will set uponσοι youτοῦ of theκακῶσαί to treat badlyσε, you,διότι through whichλαός peopleἐστί isμοι to meπολὺς muchἐν inτῇ theπόλει cityταύτῃ. this. 11  ᾿Εκάθισεν He sat downδὲ butἐνιαυτὸν yearκαὶ andμῆνας monthsἓξ sixδιδάσκων teachingἐν inαὐτοῖς themτὸν theλόγον wordτοῦ of theθεοῦ. God. 12  Γαλλίωνος Of Gallioδὲ butἀνθυπάτου proconsulὄντος beingτῆς of the᾿Αχαίας Achaiaκατεπέστησαν stood down uponοἱ theἸουδαῖοι Jewsὁμοθυμαδὸν like-mindedlyτῷ to theΠαύλῳ Paulκαὶ andἤγαγον they ledαὐτὸν himἐπὶ uponτὸ theβῆμα, step, 13  λέγοντες sayingὅτι thatΠαρὰ Alongsideτὸν theνόμον lawἀναπείθει is persuading upοὗτος this (one)τοὺς theἀνθρώπους menσέβεσθαι to be veneratingτὸν theθεόν. God. 14  μέλλοντος Being aboutδὲ butτοῦ of theΠαύλου Paulἀνοίγειν to be opening upτὸ theστόμα mouthεἶπεν saidtheΓαλλίων Gallioπρὸς towardτοὺς theἸουδαίους JewsΕἰ Ifμὲν indeedἦν it wasἀδίκημά unrighteous thingτι someorῥᾳδιούργημα readily done workπονηρόν, wicked,OἸουδαῖοι, Jews,κατὰ according toλόγον wordἂν likelyἀνεσχόμην I was putting up withὑμῶν· YOU; 15  εἰ ifδὲ butζητήματά things soughtἐστιν it isπερὶ aboutλόγου wordκαὶ andὀνομάτων namesκαὶ andνόμου lawτοῦ of theκαθ’ according toὑμᾶς, YOU,ὄψεσθε YOU will seeαὐτοί· very (ones);κριτὴς judgeἐγὼ Iτούτων of these (things)οὐ notβούλομαι I am wishingεἶναι. to be. 16  καὶ Andἀπήλασεν he drove offαὐτοὺς themἀπὸ fromτοῦ theβήματος. step. 17  ἐπιλαβόμενοι Having taken hold ofδὲ butπάντες all (they)Σωσθένην Sosthenesτὸν theἀρχισυνάγωγον synagogue rulerἔτυπτον they were beatingἔμπροσθεν in frontτοῦ of theβήματος· step;καὶ andοὐδὲν nothingτούτων of these (things)τῷ to theΓαλλίωνι Gallioἔμελεν. was of concern. 18  Theδὲ butΠαῦλος Paulἔτι yetπροσμείνας having further remainedἡμέρας daysἱκανὰς sufficientτοῖς to theἀδελφοῖς brothersἀποταξάμενος having set himself offἐξέπλει he was sailing outεἰς intoτὴν theΣυρίαν, Syria,καὶ andσὺν together withαὐτῷ himΠρίσκιλλα Priscillaκαὶ and᾿Ακύλας, Aquila,κειράμενος having shornἐν inΚενχρεαῖς Cenchreaeτὴν theκεφαλήν, head,εἶχεν he was havingγὰρ forεὐχήν. vow. 19  κατήντησαν They attained downδὲ butεἰς intoἜφεσον, Ephesus,κἀκείνους and thoseκατέλιπεν he left downαὐτοῦ, in that place,αὐτὸς heδὲ butεἰσελθὼν having enteredεἰς intoτὴν theσυναγωγὴν synagogueδιελέξατο he reasonedτοῖς to theἸουδαίοις. Jews. 20  ἐρωτώντων Requestingδὲ butαὐτῶν of themἐπὶ uponπλείονα moreχρόνον timeμεῖναι to remainοὐκ notἐπένευσεν, he gave nod upon, 21  ἀλλὰ butἀποταξάμενος having set himself offκαὶ andεἰπών having saidΠάλιν Againἀνακάμψω I shall bend backπρὸς towardὑμᾶς YOUτοῦ of theθεοῦ Godθέλοντος willingἀνήχθη he was led upἀπὸ fromτῆς the᾿Εφέσου, Ephesus, 22  καὶ andκατελθὼν having come downεἰς intoΚαισαρίαν, Caesarea,ἀναβὰς having stepped upκαὶ andἀσπασάμενος having greetedτὴν theἐκκλησίαν, ecclesia,κατέβη he stepped downεἰς into᾿Αντιόχειαν, Antioch, 23  καὶ andποιήσας having madeχρόνον timeτινὰ someἐξῆλθεν, he went out,διερχόμενος passing throughκαθεξῆς according to subsequenceτὴν theΓαλατικὴν Galatianχώραν countryκαὶ andΦρυγίαν, Phrygia,στηρίζων confirmingπάντας allτοὺς theμαθητάς. disciples. 24  Ἰουδαῖος Jewδέ butτις some᾿Απολλὼς Apollosὀνόματι, to name,᾿Αλεξανδρεὺς Alexandrianτῷ to theγένει, race,ἀνὴρ male personλόγιος, eloquent,κατήντησεν he attained downεἰς intoἜφεσον, Ephesus,δυνατὸς powerfulὢν beingἐν inταῖς theγραφαῖς. Scriptures. 25  οὗτος This (one)ἦν wasκατηχημένος having been taught by echo downτὴν theὁδὸν wayτοῦ of theκυρίου, Lord,καὶ andζέων boilingτῷ to theπνεύματι spiritἐλάλει he was speakingκαὶ andἐδίδασκεν he was teachingἀκριβῶς accuratelyτὰ the (things)περὶ aboutτοῦ theἸησοῦ, Jesus,ἐπιστάμενος being acquainted withμόνον aloneτὸ theβάπτισμα baptismἸωάνου. of John. 26  οὗτός This (one)τε andἤρξατο startedπαρρησιάζεσθαι to be speaking boldlyἐν inτῇ theσυναγωγῇ· synagogue;ἀκούσαντες having heardδὲ butαὐτοῦ of himΠρίσκιλλα Priscillaκαὶ and᾿Ακύλας Aquilaπροσελάβοντο took alongαὐτὸν himκαὶ andἀκριβέστερον more accuratelyαὐτῷ to himἐξέθεντο they expoundedτὴν theὁδὸν wayτοῦ of theθεοῦ. God. 27  βουλομένου Wishingδὲ butαὐτοῦ of himδιελθεῖν to go throughεἰς intoτὴν the᾿Αχαίαν Achaiaπροτρεψάμενοι having turned forwardοἱ theἀδελφοὶ brothersἔγραψαν wroteτοῖς to theμαθηταῖς disciplesἀποδέξασθαι to receive offαὐτόν· him;ὃς whoπαραγενόμενος having come to be alongsideσυνεβάλετο he helpedπολὺ muchτοῖς to the (ones)πεπιστευκόσιν having believedδιὰ throughτῆς theχάριτος· undeserved kindness; 28  εὐτόνως intenselyγὰρ forτοῖς to theἸουδαίοις Jewsδιακατηλέγχετο he was thoroughly provingδημοσίᾳ to public [place]ἐπιδεικνὺς showing forthδιὰ throughτῶν theγραφῶν Scripturesεἶναι to beτὸν theχριστὸν ChristἸησοῦν.
