2 Corinthians 7:1-16

7  ταύτας Theseοὖν thereforeἔχοντες (ones) havingτὰς theἐπαγγελίας, promises,ἀγαπητοί, loved (ones),καθαρίσωμεν we should cleanseἑαυτοὺς selvesἀπὸ fromπαντὸς everyμολυσμοῦ pollutionσαρκὸς of fleshκαὶ andπνεύματος, spirit,ἐπιτελοῦντες putting end uponἁγιωσύνην holinessἐν inφόβῳ fearθεοῦ. of God. 2  Χωρήσατε Allow YOU space forἡμᾶς· us;οὐδένα no oneἠδικήσαμεν, we treated unrighteously,οὐδένα no oneἐφθείραμεν, we corrupted,οὐδένα no oneἐπλεονεκτήσαμεν. we took advantage of. 3  πρὸς Towardκατάκρισιν judging downοὐ notλέγω, I am saying,προείρηκα I have said beforeγὰρ forὅτι thatἐν inταῖς theκαρδίαις heartsἡμῶν of usἐστὲ YOU areεἰς intoτὸ theσυναποθανεῖν to die together withκαὶ andσυνζῆν. to be living together with. 4  πολλή Muchμοι to meπαρρησία outspokennessπρὸς towardὑμᾶς, YOU,πολλή muchμοι to meκαύχησις boastingὑπὲρ overὑμῶν· YOU;πεπλήρωμαι I have been filledτῇ to theπαρακλήσει, comfort,ὑπερπερισσεύομαι I am superaboundingτῇ to theχαρᾷ joyἐπὶ uponπάσῃ allτῇ theθλίψει tribulationἡμῶν. of us. 5  Καὶ Andγὰρ forἐλθόντων having comeἡμῶν of usεἰς intoΜακεδονίαν Macedoniaοὐδεμίαν not oneἔσχηκεν it has hadἄνεσιν letting go upἡ theσὰρξ fleshἡμῶν, of us,ἀλλ’ butἐν inπαντὶ everythingθλιβόμενοι— (ones) being under tribulation—ἔξωθεν outsideμάχαι, fights,ἔσωθεν insideφόβοι—. fears—. 6  ἀλλ’ Butὁ the (one)παρακαλῶν comfortingτοὺς theταπεινοὺς lowly (ones)παρεκάλεσεν comfortedἡμᾶς usὁ theθεὸς Godἐν inτῇ theπαρουσίᾳ presenceΤίτου· of Titus; 7  οὐ notμόνον onlyδὲ butἐν inτῇ theπαρουσίᾳ presenceαὐτοῦ, of him,ἀλλὰ butκαὶ alsoἐν inτῇ theπαρακλήσει comfortᾗ to whichπαρεκλήθη he was comfortedἐφ’ uponὑμῖν, YOU,ἀναγγέλλων reporting backἡμῖν to usτὴν theὑμῶν of YOUἐπιπόθησιν, longing,τὸν theὑμῶν of YOUὀδυρμόν, wailing,τὸν theὑμῶν of YOUζῆλον zealὑπὲρ overἐμοῦ, me,ὥστε as-andμε meμᾶλλον ratherχαρῆναι. to rejoice. 8  ὅτι Becauseεἰ ifκαὶ andἐλύπησα I saddenedὑμᾶς YOUἐν inτῇ theἐπιστολῇ, letter,οὐ notμεταμέλομαι· I am regretting;εἰ ifκαὶ andμετεμελόμην, I regretted,βλέπω I look atὅτι thatἡ theἐπιστολὴ letterἐκείνη thatεἰ ifκαὶ andπρὸς towardὥραν hourἐλύπησεν saddenedὑμᾶς, YOU, 9  νῦν nowχαίρω, I am rejoicing,οὐχ notὅτι thatἐλυπήθητε, YOU were saddened,ἀλλ’ butὅτι thatἐλυπήθητε YOU were saddenedεἰς intoμετάνοιαν, repentance,ἐλυπήθητε YOU were saddenedγὰρ forκατὰ according toθεόν, God,ἵνα in order thatἐν inμηδενὶ nothingζημιωθῆτε YOU might suffer damageἐξ out ofἡμῶν. us. 10  ἡ Theγὰρ forκατὰ according toθεὸν Godλύπη sadnessμετάνοιαν repentanceεἰς intoσωτηρίαν salvationἀμεταμέλητον unregrettableἐργάζεται· is working;ἡ theδὲ butτοῦ of theκόσμου worldλύπη sadnessθάνατον deathκατεργάζεται. is working down. 11  ἰδοὺ Look!γὰρ Forαὐτὸ veryτοῦτο this (thing)τὸ theκατὰ according toθεὸν Godλυπηθῆναι to be saddenedπόσην how muchκατειργάσατο it worked downὑμῖν to YOUσπουδήν, speed up,ἀλλὰ butἀπολογίαν, defense,ἀλλὰ butἀγανάκτησιν, indignation,ἀλλὰ butφόβον, fear,ἀλλὰ butἐπιπόθησιν, longing,ἀλλὰ butζῆλον, zeal,ἀλλὰ butἐκδίκησιν· vengeance;ἐν inπαντὶ everythingσυνεστήσατε YOU put in standing withἑαυτοὺς selvesἁγνοὺς chasteεἶναι to beτῷ to theπράγματι. matter. 12  ἄρα Reallyεἰ ifκαὶ andἔγραψα I wroteὑμῖν, to YOU,οὐχ notἕνεκεν on accountτοῦ of the (one)ἀδικήσαντος, having acted unrighteously,ἀλλ’ butοὐδὲ neitherἕνεκεν on accountτοῦ of the (one)ἀδικηθέντος, having been treated unrighteously,ἀλλ’ butἕνεκεν on accountτοῦ of theφανερωθῆναι to be manifestedτὴν theσπουδὴν speed upὑμῶν of YOUτὴν the (one)ὑπὲρ overἡμῶν usπρὸς towardὑμᾶς YOUἐνώπιον in sightτοῦ of theθεοῦ. God. 13  διὰ Throughτοῦτο thisπαρακεκλήμεθα. we have been comforted. ᾿Επὶ Uponδὲ butτῇ theπαρακλήσει comfortἡμῶν of usπερισσοτέρως more abundantlyμᾶλλον ratherἐχάρημεν we rejoicedἐπὶ uponτῇ theχαρᾷ joyΤίτου, of Titus,ὅτι becauseἀναπέπαυται has been rested upτὸ theπνεῦμα spiritαὐτοῦ of himἀπὸ fromπάντων allὑμῶν· of YOU; 14  ὅτι becauseεἴ ifτι anythingαὐτῷ to himὑπὲρ overὑμῶν YOUκεκαύχημαι, I have boasted,οὐ notκατῃσχύνθην, I was shamed down,ἀλλ’ butὡς asπάντα all (things)ἐν inἀληθείᾳ truthἐλαλήσαμεν we spokeὑμῖν, to YOU,οὕτως thusκαὶ alsoἡ theκαύχησις boastingἡμῶν of usἐπὶ uponΤίτου Titusἀλήθεια truthἐγενήθη. became. 15  καὶ Andτὰ theσπλάγχνα bowelsαὐτοῦ of himπερισσοτέρως more abundantlyεἰς intoὑμᾶς YOUἐστὶν isἀναμιμνησκομένου of (one) rememberingτὴν theπάντων of allὑμῶν of YOUὑπακοήν, obedience,ὡς asμετὰ withφόβου fearκαὶ andτρόμου tremblingἐδέξασθε YOU receivedαὐτόν. him. 16  Χαίρω I am rejoicingὅτι becauseἐν inπαντὶ everythingθαρρῶ I am having good courageἐν inὑμῖν.
