2 Corinthians 2:1-17

2  ἔκρινα I judgedγὰρ forἐμαυτῷ to myselfτοῦτο, this,τὸ theμὴ notπάλιν againἐν inλύπῃ sadnessπρὸς towardὑμᾶς YOUἐλθεῖν· to come; 2  εἰ ifγὰρ forἐγὼ Iλυπῶ am saddeningὑμᾶς, YOU,καὶ andτίς whothe (one)εὐφραίνων cheeringμε meεἰ ifμὴ notthe (one)λυπούμενος being saddenedἐξ out ofἐμοῦ; me? 3  καὶ Andἔγραψα I wroteτοῦτο thisαὐτὸ very (thing)ἵνα in order thatμὴ notἐλθὼν having comeλύπην sadnessσχῶ I might getἀφ’ fromὧν of which onesἔδει it was necessaryμε meχαίρειν, to be rejoicing,πεποιθὼς having confidenceἐπὶ uponπάντας allὑμᾶς YOUὅτι thattheἐμὴ myχαρὰ joyπάντων of all (ones)ὑμῶν of YOUἐστίν. it is. 4  ἐκ Out ofγὰρ forπολλῆς muchθλίψεως tribulationκαὶ andσυνοχῆς of anguishκαρδίας of heartἔγραψα I wroteὑμῖν to YOUδιὰ throughπολλῶν manyδακρύων, tears,οὐχ notἵνα in order thatλυπηθῆτε, YOU might be saddened,ἀλλὰ butτὴν theἀγάπην loveἵνα in order thatγνῶτε YOU might knowἣν whichἔχω I am havingπερισσοτέρως more abundantlyεἰς intoὑμᾶς. Macedonia. 14  Τῷ To theδὲ butθεῷ Godχάρις thanksτῷ to the (one)πάντοτε alwaysθριαμβεύοντι leading in triumphἡμᾶς usἐν inτῷ theχριστῷ Christκαὶ andτὴν theὀσμὴν odorτῆς of theγνώσεως knowledgeαὐτοῦ of himφανεροῦντι to (one) manifestingδι’ throughἡμῶν usἐν inπαντὶ everyτόπῳ· place; 15  ὅτι becauseΧριστοῦ of Christεὐωδία sweet odorἐσμὲν we areτῷ to theθεῷ Godἐν inτοῖς the (ones)σωζομένοις being savedκαὶ andἐν inτοῖς the (ones)ἀπολλυμένοις, destroying selves, 16  οἷς to which onesμὲν indeedὀσμὴ odorἐκ out ofθανάτου deathεἰς intoθάνατον, death,οἷς to which onesδὲ butὀσμὴ odorἐκ out ofζωῆς lifeεἰς intoζωήν. life.καὶ Andπρὸς towardταῦτα these (things)τίς whoἱκανός; sufficient? 17  οὐ Notγάρ forἐσμεν we areὡς asοἱ theπολλοὶ many (ones)καπηλεύοντες peddlingτὸν theλόγον wordτοῦ of theθεοῦ, God,ἀλλ’ butὡς asἐξ out ofεἰλικρινίας, sincerity,ἀλλ’ butὡς asἐκ out ofθεοῦ Godκατέναντι down in frontθεοῦ of Godἐν inΧριστῷ Christλαλοῦμεν. we are speaking.
