2 Corinthians 11:1-33

11  Ὄφελον I owedἀνείχεσθέ YOU were putting up withμου of meμικρόν littleτι somethingἀφροσύνης· of senselessness;ἀλλὰ butκαὶ andἀνέχεσθέ YOU are putting up withμου. of me. 2  ζηλῶ I am jealous ofγὰρ forὑμᾶς YOUθεοῦ of Godζήλῳ, to jealousy,ἡρμοσάμην I joined togetherγὰρ forὑμᾶς YOUἑνὶ to oneἀνδρὶ male personπαρθένον virginἁγνὴν chasteπαραστῆσαι to make stand alongsideτῷ to theχριστῷ· Christ; 3  φοβοῦμαι I am fearingδὲ butμή notπως, somehow,ὡς astheὄφις serpentἐξηπάτησεν seducedΕὕαν Eveἐν inτῇ theπανουργίᾳ all-workingαὐτοῦ, of it,φθαρῇ it might be corruptedτὰ theνοήματα mindsὑμῶν of YOUἀπὸ fromτῆς theἁπλότητος simplicityκαὶ andτῆς of theἁγνότητος chastityτῆς of theεἰς inτὸν theχριστόν. Christ. 4  εἰ Ifμὲν indeedγὰρ forthe (one)ἐρχόμενος comingἄλλον anotherἸησοῦν Jesusκηρύσσει is preachingὃν whomοὐκ notἐκηρύξαμεν, we preached,orπνεῦμα spiritἕτερον differentλαμβάνετε YOU are receivingwhichοὐκ notἐλάβετε, YOU received,orεὐαγγέλιον good newsἕτερον differentwhichοὐκ notἐδέξασθε, YOU accepted,καλῶς finelyἀνέχεσθε. YOU are putting up. 5  λογίζομαι I am reckoningγὰρ forμηδὲν nothingὑστερηκέναι to have come behindτῶν of theὑπερλίαν over-exceedinglyἀποστόλων· apostles; 6  εἰ ifδὲ butκαὶ alsoἰδιώτης ordinaryτῷ to theλόγῳ, word,ἀλλ’ butοὐ notτῇ to theγνώσει, knowledge,ἀλλ’ butἐν inπαντὶ every (thing)φανερώσαντες (ones) having manifestedἐν inπᾶσιν all (things)εἰς intoὑμᾶς. YOU. 7  Orἁμαρτίαν sinἐποίησα I didἐμαυτὸν myselfταπεινῶν making lowlyἵνα in order thatὑμεῖς YOUὑψωθῆτε, might be put high up,ὅτι becauseδωρεὰν free giftτὸ theτοῦ of theθεοῦ Godεὐαγγέλιον good newsεὐηγγελισάμην I declared as good newsὑμῖν; to YOU? 8  ἄλλας Otherἐκκλησίας ecclesiasἐσύλησα I robbedλαβὼν having receivedὀψώνιον provisionπρὸς towardτὴν theὑμῶν of YOUδιακονίαν, service, 9  καὶ andπαρὼν being alongsideπρὸς towardὑμᾶς YOUκαὶ andὑστερηθεὶς having been put behindοὐ notκατενάρκησα I lay torpid down onοὐθενός· of no one;τὸ theγὰρ forὑστέρημά being behindμου of meπροσανεπλήρωσαν filled up towardοἱ theἀδελφοὶ brothersἐλθόντες having comeἀπὸ fromΜακεδονίας· Macedonia;καὶ andἐν inπαντὶ everythingἀβαρῆ weight-freeἐμαυτὸν myselfὑμῖν to YOUἐτήρησα I keptκαὶ andτηρήσω. I shall be keeping. 10  ἔστιν It isἀλήθεια truthΧριστοῦ of Christἐν inἐμοὶ meὅτι thattheκαύχησις boastingαὕτη thisοὐ notφραγήσεται will be fenced inεἰς intoἐμὲ meἐν inτοῖς theκλίμασι slopesτῆς of the᾿Αχαίας. Achaia. 11  διὰ Throughτί; what?ὅτι Becauseοὐκ notἀγαπῶ I am lovingὑμᾶς; YOU?Theθεὸς Godοἶδεν. has known. 12  Whatδὲ butποιῶ I am doingκαὶ andποιήσω, I shall do,ἵνα in order thatἐκκόψω I might cut offτὴν theἀφορμὴν onrush-fromτῶν of the (ones)θελόντων willingἀφορμήν, onrush-from,ἵνα in order thatἐν inwhichκαυχῶνται they are boastingεὑρεθῶσιν they might be foundκαθὼς according asκαὶ alsoἡμεῖς. we. 13  οἱ Theγὰρ forτοιοῦτοι such (ones)ψευδαπόστολοι, pseudo-apostles,ἐργάται workersδόλιοι, deceitful,μετασχηματιζόμενοι refashioning selvesεἰς intoἀποστόλους apostlesΧριστοῦ· of Christ; 14  καὶ andοὐ notθαῦμα, wonder,αὐτὸς very (one)γὰρ fortheΣατανᾶς Satanμετασχηματίζεται is transforming selfεἰς intoἄγγελον angelφωτός· of light; 15  οὐ notμέγα great (thing)οὖν thereforeεἰ ifκαὶ alsoοἱ theδιάκονοι servantsαὐτοῦ of himμετασχηματίζονται are refashioning themselvesὡς asδιάκονοι servantsδικαιοσύνης, of righteousness,ὧν of whomτὸ theτέλος endἔσται will beκατὰ according toτὰ theἔργα worksαὐτῶν. of them. 16  Πάλιν Againλέγω, I am saying,μή notτίς anyoneμε meδόξῃ might thinkἄφρονα senselessεἶναι·— to be;—εἰ ifδὲ butμήγε, not in fact,κἂν and likelyὡς asἄφρονα senseless (one)δέξασθέ accept YOUμε, me,ἵνα in order thatκἀγὼ also Iμικρόν littleτι somewhatκαυχήσωμαι· I might boast; 17  whatλαλῶ I am speakingοὐ notκατὰ according toκύριον Lordλαλῶ, I am speaking,ἀλλ’ butὡς asἐν inἀφροσύνῃ, senselessness,ἐν inταύτῃ thisτῇ theὑποστάσει sub-standingτῆς of theκαυχήσεως. boasting. 18  ἐπεὶ Sinceπολλοὶ manyκαυχῶνται are boastingκατὰ according toτὴν theσάρκα, flesh,κἀγὼ also Iκαυχήσομαι. should boast. 19  ἡδέως Gladlyγὰρ forἀνέχεσθε YOU are putting up withτῶν of theἀφρόνων senseless (ones)φρόνιμοι sensibleὄντες· being; 20  ἀνέχεσθε YOU are putting up withγὰρ forεἴ ifτις anyoneὑμᾶς YOUκαταδουλοῖ, is enslaving,εἴ ifτις anyoneκατεσθίει, is eating down,εἴ ifτις anyoneλαμβάνει, is receiving,εἴ ifτις anyoneἐπαίρεται, is lifting up himself upon,εἴ ifτις anyoneεἰς intoπρόσωπον faceὑμᾶς YOUδέρει. is flaying. 21  κατὰ According toἀτιμίαν dishonorλέγω, I am saying,ὡς asὅτι thatἡμεῖς weἠσθενήκαμεν· have been weak; ἐν inwhatδ’ butἄν likelyτις anyoneτολμᾷ, is daring,ἐν inἀφροσύνῃ senselessnessλέγω, I am saying,τολμῶ am daringκἀγώ. also I. 22  ᾿Εβραῖοί Hebrewsεἰσιν; are they?κἀγώ. also I.Ἰσραηλεῖταί Israelitesεἰσιν; are they?κἀγώ. also Iσπέρμα Seed᾿Αβραάμ of Abrahamεἰσιν; are they?κἀγώ. also I. 23  διάκονοι ServantsΧριστοῦ of Christεἰσίν; are they?παραφρονῶν Being beside one’s mindλαλῶ, I am speaking,ὕπερ overἐγώ· I;ἐν inκόποις laborsπερισσοτέρως, more abundantly,ἐν inφυλακαῖς prisonsπερισσοτέρως, more abundantly,ἐν inπληγαῖς blowsὑπερβαλλόντως, surpassingly,ἐν inθανάτοις deathsπολλάκις· many times; 24  ὑπὸ byἸουδαίων Jewsπεντάκις five timesτεσσεράκοντα fortyπαρὰ besideμίαν oneἔλαβον, I received, 25  τρὶς three timesἐραβδίσθην, I was beaten with staves,ἅπαξ onceἐλιθάσθην, I was stoned,τρὶς three timesἐναυάγησα, I was shipwrecked,νυχθήμερον night (and) dayἐν inτῷ theβυθῷ deepπεποίηκα· I have done; 26  ὁδοιπορίαις to wayfaringπολλάκις, many times,κινδύνοις to dangersποταμῶν, of rivers,κινδύνοις to dangersλῃστῶν, of plunderers,κινδύνοις to dangersἐκ out ofγένους, race,κινδύνοις to dangersἐξ out ofἐθνῶν, nations,κινδύνοις to dangersἐν inπόλει, city,κινδύνοις to dangersἐν inἐρημίᾳ, desolate placeκινδύνοις to dangersἐν inθαλάσσῃ, sea,κινδύνοις to dangersἐν inψευδαδέλφοις, pseudo-brothers, 27  κόπῳ to laborκαὶ andμόχθῳ, to toil,ἐν inἀγρυπνίαις abstinences from sleepπολλάκις, many [times],ἐν inλιμῷ hungerκαὶ andδίψει, to thirst,ἐν inνηστείαις fastingsπολλάκις, many times,ἐν inψύχει coldκαὶ andγυμνότητι· to nakedness. 28  χωρὶς Apart fromτῶν the (things)παρεκτὸς beside outsidetheἐπίστασίς standing uponμοι to metheκαθ’ according toἡμέραν, day,theμέριμνα anxietyπασῶν of allτῶν theἐκκλησιῶν. ecclesias. 29  τίς Whoἀσθενεῖ, is weak,καὶ andοὐκ notἀσθενῶ; I am weak?τίς Whoσκανδαλίζεται, is being caused to fall,καὶ andοὐκ notἐγὼ Iπυροῦμαι; am on fire? 30  εἰ Ifκαυχᾶσθαι to boastδεῖ, it is binding,τὰ the (things)τῆς of theἀσθενείας weaknessμου of meκαυχήσομαι. I shall boast. 31  Theθεὸς Godκαὶ andπατὴρ Fatherτοῦ of theκυρίου LordἸησοῦ Jesusοἶδεν, has known,the (one)ὢν beingεὐλογητὸς blessedεἰς intoτοὺς theαἰῶνας, ages,ὅτι thatοὐ notψεύδομαι. I am lying. 32  ἐν InΔαμασκῷ Damascustheἐθνάρχης ethnarchἉρέτα of Aretasτοῦ theβασιλέως kingἐφρούρει was guardingτὴν theπόλιν cityΔαμασκηνῶν of Damascenesπιάσαι to seizeμε, me, 33  καὶ andδιὰ throughθυρίδος windowἐν inσαργάνῃ plaited basketἐχαλάσθην I was loweredδιὰ throughτοῦ theτείχους wallκαὶ andἐξέφυγον I fled out ofτὰς theχεῖρας handsαὐτοῦ. of him.
